Horrible experience with Callum

Inquired about a property which we wanted to buy in cash. Had the misfortune of speaking to a very rude Callum. Conversation went like this:We: Interested in purchasing this property on cash. Can we view it. Callum: No. We: Umm, ok, could we atleast see a video?Callum: No. We: How are you proposing to sell this without us being able to see it?Very rude abrupt responses. This really isn't how you sell properties. I would never ask them to sell mine.

Positive and dynamic

Positive, proactive and friendly is how I would describe Kelly and her team at the Ealing branch. Kelly found me great buyers at a time when flats in London were hard to sell! She was also excellent at moving things along when they got stuck as they often do when buying and selling property. Imogen also deserves praise for her charming efficiency in welcoming me as a client and dealing with viewings etc. Excellent job all round!

Barnard Marcus Muswell Hill, is a practical and realistic team, with a personal approach, resolving sales matters in person, over the phone and by following up emails with a chat. They are from my experience realistic and you might have to wait for the right applicant but they turn out to be the right fit and successful candidate/s for your property. In fact I had 4 offers more than enough to choose from. That comes with experience and knowledge of the area and fitting the right applicants to affordability and lifestyle. Barnard Marcus Tooting- The most unprofessional team of people. Refused to provide a contact number for our landlord when our house was in dangerous condition, mould, rats, broken toilet, broken shower etc… Stated they have nothing to do with the property anymore, however our rent is sent to them directly every month. Manager Marta was very rude and ended the phone on me when I tried to explain that the house is not suitable to live in. Avoid this estate agents.

I would not recommend anyone to use…

I would not recommend anyone to use them. I bought property through them and I lost of lot of money. Its partly my mistake as I didn't know its possible to sell property without person who sells the property not being the owner of the property. They lied to me that person is in the process of the registration and it will take few months. The true was something else. It took me 11 months to register that property with massive Council Tax bill for empty property as well as heroin squatters being inside for 6 months.Two weeks is very short of period to check all tricks that they use to get you into trouble and unsolvable problems. You have to have very experienced solicitors who can read their selling contract special conditions which are usually on written on 20 pages adding all sort of hidden cost on top of the auction price. I paid 8k plus buyers solicitors fee. Mind you they have their own solicitors company who writes this kind od special conditions and "Clients" who they selling for. As I said if you don't have big experience with Bernard Marcus Auctions sale methods don't bother to go there and bid for the properties as you can make costly mistake regret it big time. There are not good deals there for anyone...

Barnard Marcus of Covent Garden are excellent estate agents. The Branch Manager is Francesca Lewis. I was contacted by them a few months ago and they have now sold my two bedroom flat in Pimlico.The money is now in my bank account gaining interest.My optimistic asking price was £550,000, and Jake Tharp, the Assistant Branch Manager, managed to achieve a respectable £530,000, with property prices in London falling all the time, and a potential general UK financial crisis on its way very soon.They are all good people, professional, proactive, friendly and patient in a stressful activity for us all. I recommend them to everyone.

I had a very poor experience with Morden (Vince and Paul) branch, its so many things. they did not hand me the house key on the contract date because the house failed on the house safety check( Should be dobe before they offer it to rent ), The Main door lock was broken, they promised to change it then I changed it myself 2 months later. I have sent many and many emails asking for the landlord's email address and phone number they do not even reply, I went to the agency, asking if they will send but nothing happens. well what say, if you like to be disappointed they can help with.

SERVICE (REPAIRS) Bad customer Service.

We have recently shifted into New Maden property managed by Barnard Marcus. Letting agents were kind and nice.We have a list of repairs & requests within a week of shifting into this new house, which was communicated by email, phone & in person.We were told the handyman was busy & will come last week which of course he never did .Follow up with the in person meeting in Barnard Marcus office in New Malden & was told he will come today on 14th Aug in the morning. I pushed my online (teaching) Yoga Session to the next day, and again we were disappointed. It is very frustrating to chase them and be in waiting line, hoping to hear from them, which never happens.We do not like to rant, unfortunately we are left with no choice but resort to social media. I hope Barnard Marcus could pull up their socks & be more pro active & faster in resolving tenant requests. Alternatively let us interact directly with the owner if you cannot manage their property properly.Thank you Best regardsPam

Wish I could put 0 stars. Make sure to filter the reviews to ‘newest’ and not ‘most relevant’ to avoid only seeing the highly rated reviews. After seeing the perfect flat for myself and my partner, we quickly contacted Bernard and Marcus and spoke to Ricardo who arranged for us to view it the next day. The next morning Ricardo rang us to say he would be 30mins late. When we arrived at the property 30mins later than booked we ended up waiting 45mins outside on the pavement- no sign of Ricardo and was told we’d be ‘called back’ by the earlsfield branch when we tried to contact him to see where he was. Eventually a different estate agent from Bernard and Marcus saw us standing on the pavement for so long she actually offered to show us the flat between her booked clients. We loved the flat and put an offer in that morning via Ricardo (who had no excuse to why he didn’t turn up at the viewing). We waited until late afternoon and after hearing nothing from Ricardo I rang him to check he had received our offer form- he said he had but hasn’t sent it to the landlord yet. With the current state of the renting market I was a bit disappointed in his lack of urgency. The next day we still heard nothing from Ricardo so I rang him- he said he had sent the offer form to the landlord and we will most likely hear back on Monday (three days from today). These are all details that I personally think should’ve been emailed to me rather than me ringing to chase it up. After all, he had taken the holding deposit from us the same day we made the offer. Sadly once our offer was accepted, a few days later the landlord decided to stay with his current tenants, leaving us back at stage one again. Ricardo called to inform me of this and apologised profusely, he stated we ‘were his priority due to these unfortunate circumstances and we will be shown any properties before they go online and he will search the building for other available flats/one like it’- did we ever hear from him again after making us his ‘priority’ ?? No. In fact two days later when I chased him up he asked me if I wanted a refund on the holding deposit- I said yes obviously we did. He told me he would sort out the refund that day (JULY). Today is SEPTEMBER the 13th and we have only just got our holding deposit refund back today!!! Absolutely shameful behaviour to withhold our money like that. I tried to ring Ricardo multiple times over the last 2 months to chase where our money was but I often got ignored calls or told I would be called back but never was. The last time I tried to call Ricardo I was informed it was his last day that day in the branch so I couldn’t speak to him? The whole experience was abysmal. Finally I was informed Bernardo would be taking over Ricardos old clients so I rang Bernardo to once again chase up my deposit refund. Bernardo was a breath of fresh air- he was so understanding and professional. He informed me Ricardo hadn’t even made a receipt of the payment he took from us for our holding deposit which could explain the hold up. He put through the refund for us and eventually we have got it back. It’s been an awful experience with Bernard and Marcus- Ricardo not showing up for our viewing, having to keep ringing him for updates on our offer to then chasing him for over 2 months to be refunded our OWN money back.

Will Wigley has been the most amazing estate agent I could hope for. But I would be lying if I said that that is all he has been. Will has been a chauffeur for many a house viewings, a designer helping me envision the property for myself but most of all a friend through the ups and downs of the house buying process. We worked together for a year before I purchased my dream first home and it’s all thanks to Will. He was there when my first purchase fell through and gave it his all for my second one. He worked harder than any one on the team and I can truly say is the best estate agent out there. And I would know, I came across 20 of them! I know that I will be making all future purchases and sales through Will and if he ever leaves the world of real estate, through Barnard Marcus because they surely know how to pick them. A massive thank you to everyone who made my dream come true including Lee and Kelly. I look forward to working together again one day!

I instructed them to let my flat

I instructed them to let my flat. There were a few things that I was concerned about in terms of their professionalism but ignored it. However I got an offer for my flat from them and was told the references and comprehensive checks were coming. They came the night before the tenants were due to move in (despite me chasing constantly). They failed then affordability checks, and were not certainly not comprehensive but I was told that was what insurance was for. I withdrew and said I felt sorry for the tenants, and got told by Anton he “did not give a sh@t about the tenants” and him telling me how great he was . In addition, despite having my number they kept calling my partner rather than me… I complained and they completely did not answer my complaint in any way, shape or form. Finally, my partner got a call from someone who used to work in Anton’s branch to say she had moved as she could not work for him, and they got lots of complaints about him. Completely different to what they said in their response to me. I finally let my flat for more than they marketed it for and with great tenants. AVOID
