Foxtons’s account’s department have bad…

Foxtons’s account’s department have bad ethical practices.The charged me as a landlord 3 years commission & after six months again charged me 2 years commission for the same property.when I complained they credited part of the commission but after a week they recharged me some more commission.As the tenant rent is deposited directly into Foxtons’s account I cannot do much about it and am finally taking them to court for fraudulent activity.

Avoid at all costs. We recently tried to purchase a property, were thrilled to have our asking-price offer accepted, were given a ten day exclusivity period to do everything the seller asked (which we did), and then were gazumped by another buyer - a dishonest and unethical practice used to drive up prices (despite given explicit assurances from both the agent and the vendor when our offer was accepted that this exact scenario would not occur with them). We lost thousands of pounds in non-refundable solicitors, survey, search and mortgage fees, have suddenly been left without a property to move into, and have had to cancel our own sale as a result (not only causing us to lose yet more fees, but reluctantly inflict similar distress on our buyers). This would not have happened with our real estate agents (who make absolutely clear from the outset that they do not, under any circumstances, tolerate gazumping from their vendors or prospective buyers). The response from the agent was simply ‘that’s the way it goes’.

Richard Dalmeida - Brixton Office Myself and my partner had been looking to rent a place together and have managed to find the perfect place after only two hours of searching. First time dealing with Foxtons and have to say I was really impressed with them and especially Richard Dalmeida. Richard was by the far the best letting agent I've ever dealt with...and I've met a lot of them. He was tireless in his search for the right property type for us and even though we had super-specific criteria, he found us the perfect place! He didn't inundate us with properties he knew wouldn't work for us, he was really responsive and always kept in touch even if the market was slow. If you do choose to work with Foxton's in the Brixton area, make sure to ask for Richard as he's a star!

Living in New Zealand and looking to sell my property in the UK, I needed an agent that was high on communication and flexible with working hours to get round the time difference. With Foxton’s I found just that. William Cooke and Ed Boden took on my property late last year with a very clear brief, and delivered on my high expectations. The property sold at a price as estimated, and William kept me up-to-speed with regular communication and efficiently managed the whole process. William and Ed also recommended solicitors for the sale, who were exceptional, and their familiarity with each other’s organisation helped to get through the legal T&Cs without fuss. I asked Foxtons to handle the sale of my Brixton flat after having a very disappointing experience with another local estate agent (3 months, no offers, poor communication). Within 3 days Foxtons had secured a fantastic offer, and they continued to provide exceptional service throughout the entire transaction up until closing (especially Charlie Goodfellow who went above and beyond chasing a tardy lawyer!) . Communication was proactive and transparent, and I loved their online portal that allows you to see exactly how many viewings you are getting.
