TrustpilotThree words - don’t do it
We listed our house with foxtons and the service has been abysmal. There’s been next to no effort or movement with trying to sell the house, no communications with any options etc. You get an account online which shows upcoming viewings - almost all viewings ‘booked’ haven’t actually happened and they don’t contact us to confirm it either. You expect a lot from an estate agent with their level of commission - dont bother.

GoogleI have had the pleasure of working with Carlos Melendez, who made the process of buying a property a lot easier than it could have been with a less diligent agent. We experienced a lot of bumps in the road due to different third parties, however Carlos helped to keep everyone involved sharp and focused on getting the transaction over the line. Carlos is also a great communicator, very personable and very knowledgeable on the local market - I would highly recommend working with him. I would also like to mention his manager, Will, who handled the price negotiations very well and made himself available whenever needed. Overall, I would just like to say thanks to Carlos and the rest of the team!

GoogleMy partner and I have had an amazing experience with Jon Wallis. He has been a super agent in terms of his service. From driving all the way to hand us our offer forms, checking in, and really listening to our needs and trying his best to find us a property given our requirements. We ended up finding another place outside of his area but would highly recommend Jon as he has been the best agent we have dealt with by far.

GoogleNot only was the mailing list actually useful for suggesting properties we were interested in (and were in budget), but Carlos Melendez was particularly amazing. He was honest about some of the properties we went to see and found us some great other options within our budget we had missed. He was also amazing at walking us through the process of buying our first house and was always quick to respond when we had questions or if something had been missed and needed a quick change! Could not recommend enough!

used to be good but ever since the intro of the renters rights acts, property management service has dropped off a cliff. This bad for landlords because they get poor management, bad for tenants because they get poor representation, and bad for the industry because estate / letting agents are no longer accountable.

GoogleThe sale of my house took significantly longer than average, due to complications outside of anyone persons control. Andrea Ricketts spent a significant amount of time making sure everyone was on the same page, and that cooler heads prevailed when the process got contentious. Thanks Andrea!

I put my flat up for sale with my Foxtons, I was going to go with another agent but they were very pushy and said how they managed to sell better than anyone so I went with them. I was under the impression my flat would go straight up but after I signed the contract it took them 2 weeks to take photos and put them up, in the meantime they put up a video of the flat from a mid-term inspection where it looked absolutely disgusting. I had never seen this video and I don't see why it would be allowed to be put up without my permission, I asked for it to be removed, they didn't and it took them nearly the 2 weeks to remove it. The photos they took were adequate but not particularly great, I was pretty disappointed. I felt that the price was extremely over inflated (like all their prices) but respected they knew better than me, but when every single person gave feedback that it was way overpriced and no one showed any interest I became quite embarrassed. I found it very hard to contact my sales agent and just gave up most times after leaving numerous messages. I heard from my agent 10 times more before I signed with them than I did during my contract. When I gave notice 28 days before the end after having no interest, I was reminded how they are the number one and warned that going to another agent would not solve the issue. Their commission is so much more than everyone else but I feel my experience with their sales agent was extremely poor and I can't believe I had no interest in my nice flat. I feel I made a mistake going with them and would caution anyone thinking of them. Also I rented my flat with them for nearly 2 decades and my last tenant emailed them notice which they said they did not receive until the next day so they extended the end date to one day beyond the end of the month, they then charged me a management fee of £9 for the one day (and she paid £1 something rent for that one day). I will never rent with them again due to the complete lack of transparency with regards to money. (As for the excuse that the housing market is quiet I put my other property up for sale at the same time and it sold within 2 weeks, but then again the photos were really good and the price was reasonable).

If you are a renter, please do not use Foxtons. They are a scammy horrible company that only serves the interests of the landlord. They rented us an overpriced disgusting dump by using old out-of-date photos in the rental ad, and locked us into an abusively restrictive contract that made it impossible to leave the horrible dump that ruined my mental health. Do yourself a favour and stay away from these money hungry scammers.

Extremely poor experience with Foxtons. We were left without proper cooking facilities for 25 days, which had a major impact on our daily life and forced us to spend extra money on food. A functioning cooker is a basic part of any home, yet this was not handled with the urgency it deserved.

GoogleFortune who works at Foxtons Brixton is amazing. I highly recommend you dealing with him. He truly listened to my needs, and visits have improved at every step. He is not pushy and has great knowledge of the market. He also dropped me off home after my visit, as I was the last client of the day, this was a nice touch. Its also a reflection of his kind and professional Character.

GoogleAs soon as I put my property on the market the mortgage rates went up not once but twice, Matt at foxtons gave me great advice with my initial start of the sale and Markus brought my sale home. Markus kept me informed at every step and even in my most frustrating hour (sorry for those Markus) he was calm, patient and professional. A great job by a great team! Thank you Foxtons!

He was also a fantastic collaborator in getting the transaction done, a reliable, quick and clear communicator, incredibly responsive, and very patient when helping me visit the property several times to get additional information. I've recently started renting from Foxtons. They are both the letting agent and the managing agent. I have never paid so much for such a bad service. None of the extractor fans work, my heating doesnt work, the curtain rods are bent and now one has fallen off & luckily no one got hurt because they have taken so long to resolve the issues. I'm wondering is this even legal?

I contacted ONE agent for a specific property viewing, and it has turned into a total nightmare. I am being hounded by at least FOUR different colleagues from this branch. The frequency is beyond unprofessional, I just received 2 calls in the span of 5 minutes.

As a landlord (don't hate me!) paying for a managed service, they tried to charge me £90 + vat to fix a meter door with two cable ties. This is typical, and I have to chase them repeatedly for everything. My tenants and I deserve better.

GooglePut up fake ads on Rightmove/Zoopla to generate interest (because nobody would use them otherwise) and also leave fake reviews on Google. Moved me in to a flooding property, electrically unsafe with no gas safety certificate (off the books also, no "set" price) for 2 years, didn't inform me the place/management was changing hands- Im now due to pay my new landlord rent but Foxtons are trying to scam me into paying them as well (so double rent) they just refuse to engage or reply to any email in an attempt to avoid a paper trail. Lambeth should shut them down

GoogleComplete fraudsters and scammers running this business. Got stuck in a 2 year contract by these guys.i ended up paying two mortgages- my own house and the property. Because foxton wanted commission.Spent a ridiculous amount of money on repairs which most Foxtons took. Was on the verge of suing them. Do it yourself that taking these fraudsters. Or if u have money be prepared to loose it to these property scammers. Know what you are getting into..U a landlord, runaway from them.
