Is the Rolls Royce of estate agents

Josh Pennycott was super to deal with from the beginning, until the sale was completed. My flat had several offers and interest from the first day of viewing. Kept me informed of every stage, gave me good advice, even signed forms for me during lockdown. Friendly, informative and professional. The best estate agents I've ever dealt with and am now thoroughly spoilt. Would say is the Rolls Royce of estate agents. Mainly, I had confidence in Josh and Mishon Mackay and trust, which is invaluable.Would happily recommend Mishon Mackay to anyone selling and buying.

Alexandra (manageress) originally valued my property to aid me with a solicitor’s request and I was impressed with her manner and efficiency. Honesty in Estate Agents

My wife has submitted her own review and I just wanted to add my thoughts in addition to hers. We have bought and sold properties (seven in total) and know that you can be given false figures or guidance as we have experienced it ourselves. I can honestly recommend Mishon Mackay at 111 Dyke Rd Brighton their sales manager George Wayne visited our property and gave an honest opinion of its value and their services. I had reviewed four potential estate agents and they spread from "we have someone already who would be interested" even a visit offered before agreement and constantly on the phone for our business, which you can take two ways but for me it was too much and another that took low pressure sales to far. There were only two in the end and I liked them both but opted for George`s company and very pleased we did. I would also like to mention Samim Nabizada, who kept us bang up to date with how it was progressing and others in the team who I only had little contact but came across very professionally. So if your looking at selecting the right estate agent, give them a try and you can evaluate them yourselves, we would certainly be happy to use them again.

Disorganised and Chaotic

Estate agents forget that a buyer may one day become a seller. Unfortunately, for Mishon Mackay if they were the only estate agent available in the area I would simply choose not to sell my property. If I can sum up my experience in one word it would be disorganised. Mixed up viewings timings on more than one occasion, arrived late on more than one occasion, used the excuse of the seller's occupation for a serious delays in the conveyancing process on more than one occasion and became unpleasant over the phone one more than one occasion. The experience with Mishon Mckay made me realise why people do not trust estate agents. It got to the point where I needed them to put everything in writing over email and refused to pick up the phone to them. I wanted to pull out of my purchase at least 5 times and it if it wasn't for their constant false reassurances by them I would have. On completion, I did not receive all the keys and the seller had left a large item in the property even though exchange was 4 weeks prior. Buying your first home should be exciting and all the joy and happiness I had was lost whilst buying a property from Mishon Mackay.

Really impressed...Nothing was too much trouble

I was really impressed with the service from the team in Hove, especially Sue. She managed the negotiations perfectly and helped me get an offer accepted on the property I really wanted in a sought after area of Hove, after spending months looking. I viewed the property a few times and nothing was too much trouble. As a buyer I had a positive experience dealing with their team and based on this, when I decide to sell I would have total confidence in the property being marketed and sold by the Mishon Mackay sales team.

Buyers' experience

As buyers, we found Mishon Mackay (Hove branch - Amy and Sarah) to be responsive to any queries and concerns. They returned calls promptly, followed through on things, and came back to us with answers when we needed them. Although we were cash buyers, we had a long and complex chain with our purchase which was extremely stressful for our family and resulted in us having to be in airbnb accommodation for 5 months. When the process was stalling at the 5 month point, we did feel we needed to take matters into our own hands. Amy was giving us regular updates and liaising with other agents in the chain, but it just wasn't having the desired result. We started applying pressure at the top of the chain ourselves and between us, we got things over the line.

Estate Agentese!

I am not, nor am I ever likely to be, a client of your company, even if I lived in your area. Why? Well, when I see a property advertised on Chichester Terrace, Brighton with, allegedly, Atlantic Ocean views (Sunday Times Feb 28th) I wonder whether your staff have any comprehension of the geography of our country. The distance from Brighton to Land’s End is over 300 miles! Thus, Atlantic Ocean views? I don’t think so!

As a landlord, given 5/5 in the past, alas this time 3/5

Was 5/5 in the past, all was well - until we started having property and tenancy kinks. It would be unfair to call Mishon Mackay like other agencies a "property" manager, as they are largely self serving lettings manager by default. This realisation came about when I realised that no contractor cleaning or repair visits were ever actually follow-up inspected and I am discovering sub-par workmanship across the property, having chanced the visit in between lettings. Too late to do anything about it now despite I was charged a rather premium rate for all the same. Agency is happy to organise such repairs with no particular conscious regard on cost-vs-quality either. It would be prudent to address such client approach, as well as a timely communication, and actions in all regards property management too.

Professional, friendly and helpful.

We bought our flat through Mishon Mackay in Hove and I found them to be very helpful and professional throughout the whole process. Sue was always quick to respond, very polite and friendly, and never had any problems with explaining different parts of the process to me. As a first time buyer this was much appreciated. Even after the sale has completed, they have continued to answer queries when we have had them.
