Nightmare experience. Would give them a 0 if I could. They do the landlord's bidding, never the tenants. Watch out for damages before renting from them, they will do their best to avoid the landlord paying for the necessary repairs. Make sure you have the property inspected and professionally surveyed before signing contracts. Or you will rent a broken property for way more money than you should pay. BV students, 10 times worse.

Excellent service from Alexandra with a tricky property sale. They had the correct balance of chasing and keeping under review without hassling people.Living a long way from the property also caused some issues but Alexandra was always ready to go the extra mile and help.

This is the second time I have used Mishon Mackay (Kemptown) to sell my property. Josh just instills the greatest confidence. He knows exactly what he is doing, and is so lovely to work with. His valuation was spot on, his communication excellent.Always on hand, giving excellent feedback on viewings and seeing through sales with such professionalism. Definitely 5 star service .From start to finish we had help all the way Damien and Holly from the Portslade branch were fantastic .The sale was not a easy due to a complicated leasehold and they helped me all the way . They chased everyone and kept us in the loop . As their client, I have been having a very good experience with this estate agent. Particularly, I am very very impressed by the great services provided by their Property management team (including Maria, Jordan, Natasha, Claire and Sarah). They are very professional, resourceful and extremely patient!! I am a typical difficult owner (with a lot questions and sometimes writing very long emails, I am sure they know :) ). But they have been very patient to me and have been giving me great help (well managing my property, giving me suitable suggestions for some very complicated property issues and finding best possible solutions for me), though they are just managing 1 property to me. So no doubt they are well deserved to have the 5 star from me. Also, the sale team is also great, George's team (with Samim also in) helped me a lot! Though I was only buying 1 property (also quite low budget), they were still providing me very good services and showing me many properties and finally found me a good property . So I did feel I was well served by them (well, I did feel - been neglected by some Brighton estate agents, due to my low budget). So they are also deserved to have a 5 star from me :)!Of course - the letting team (James and Jenny), you guys are great, too! Every time, you found me so many tenants, helped me achieve the best possible rent and well select the best tenant based on their profiles. Without you guys, I am sure I would have been struggling during the pandemic (with long void period). Another 5 star will definitely goes to you guys!!Many thanks, guys!

I’m writing on behalf of my Mum who is moving from out of the area and just about to complete on a purchase in Portslade. Holly and Damien at the portslade branch have been not only a joy to work with, but have been a fundamental part of helping my Mum find her ideal property. We unfortunately had a sale fall through due to circumstances outside of anyone’s control. Holly and Damien stayed in touch and found my Mum a second property. Through both experiences they have actively project managed the conveyancing process. It isn’t about a sale to them. It’s about matching the right property with the right buyer. They don’t shy away from tricky conversations and are honest, transparent and realistic. Whilst they’ve been incredibly helpful and supportive to us, we also know they have the interests of the seller as a priority. I know I will recommend them non stop to friends and family in the area. They are everything a good estate agent should be: proactive, communicative and you can trust they act with integrity towards both potential buyers and their vendors. They are rare gems. Mishon Mackay have tented our my flat for years and I bought and sold through them too. It’s a rough time out there at the moment but their professionalism, help, advice and understanding have been exemplary.Maria has been particularly outstanding especially when I had some interesting times with a tenant.I can’t recommend the team enough. Will need to use them again in the future and won’t think about going anywhere else.

We were 'sold' a pre-tenancy 'sparkle clean' as we were not in the country to inspect the flat after the previous tenants vacated. We were told that the inventory check had indicated that the flat was 'grubby' and it was necessary 'to make sure'. We agreed to go ahead with the clean without seeing any written quotes or specification. When the new tenants moved in, they told us they felt the flat was not clean and sent us photos. The cleaners had not even moved the one sofa to vacuum clean underneath, the oven, and the washing machine had not been touched. We raised this with Mishon and they have told us that we were charged £60 per hour incl VAT (for two people) for 4.5 hours or £270 in total. Mishon did not deal with our query and when we chased after two weeks did not really have an answer and, were very dismissive.
Firstly, thank you for taking the time to post a review and I’m sorry you feel dissatisfied with your service from Mishon Mackay. I understand from the communication with you and Natasha that you instructed us to carry out the inventory at your property earlier than we normally would book it, as you asked to use the report for your vacating tenants, this meant that we don’t have any evidence of the lack of cleaning. I can see you agreed to allow Natasha to proceed with the cleaning without getting a quote as you were on holiday. I believe Natasha offered to arrange for the cleaners to re-attend the property to rectify any areas that were missed, once you raised this, to which you explained your tenants hadn’t taken pictures of the areas they weren’t happy with, and that they were cleaning the areas themselves. Natasha has also offered you the option of some re-imbursement, as a sparkle clean is not what Natasha instructed our cleaners to complete, but we are yet to hear from you on this.We are very sorry that your query was not picked up in good time, this was missed inadvertently and not in the time frame we aim to respond to our clients. We are keen to resolve this issue for you and ensure you are satisfied. Beware buyers: This estate agent misleads customers on important legal matters, which cost me considerable time, energy and money.I viewed an apartment with the Seven Dials office of Mishon Mackay (Hove). I asked specifically whether the apartment's hardwood floors (with which the agency advertised the flat) were legally sound in terms of the lease. I stressed that this is important as my partner has strong allergies and I am looking for a place with hard wood flooring. I was aware that more and more flats are being sold with hard wood flooring even though this is not allowed per the lease. The agent claimed that the hard wood floors were all fine in terms of the lease. I consequently made an offer on the place. But once my solicitor got insight into the legal details, it turned out that the lease mandates that all floors need be carpeted. This is stated in a central place in the lease agreement and cannot be missed. Mishon Mackay nevertheless tried to pressure me into buying the flat. According to them, the clause "all floors need be carpeted" does not mean that all floors need be carpeted. But that is of course not true. My solicitor was very clear: the hardwood floors are in direct breach of the lease and need be changed once anyone complains about noise. Mishon Mackay then failed to get retrospective consent from the landlord for the hardwood floors. All they got was a short email saying that the floors are ok as long as no one complains, but that a court would likely decide against the current state of the flat.Mishon Mackay then tried to portray this as a normal thing, stating that they could not have possibly known about the details of the lease. This is both of course untrue as well. Other agencies that I have been dealing with either told me that the floors need be carpeted or looked into the lease details before confirming whether the floors need carpeting or not. I finally decided to pull out of the sale because I never made an offer on a property that is in clear breach of the lease. In the course of this I lost money for a homebuyer report, legal searches, and a mortgage application, let alone my headache over this and wasted time. And all this simply because of the dishonesty of Mishon Mackay that seem to privilege a quick sale over legally sound procedure.
