Cannot fault Damien and Holly at Mishon Mackay in Portslade at all. Throughout a two year process during a global pandemic, with one chain falling through before we finally succeeded, they have stuck with us throughout and remained positive, proactive and helpful - playing a key role in getting the sale/purchase across the line and offering all the support we could ask for and more. We wouldn’t recommend anyone else to sell your property in the West Hove/Portslade area, these guys give estate agency a good name and it was a pleasure to deal with them, almost sad it’s over!

We were really impressed with Mishon Mackay and especially Jay, who was brilliant. The whole process for us as landlords was made incredibly easy from finding new tenants through to getting us a cleaner and recommending a carpet fitter and even being available for a delivery, I felt there was no problem that couldn't be solved. He actually made the procedure of getting new tenants a pleasure and frankly we couldn't recommend highly enough.

I hired this company, 3-4 years ago, to manage my townhouse in the North Laine area of Brighton. Today I received an email from a neighbor with pictures showing the poor state of gutters, filled with debris and plants and the patio walls damaged and flaking from an invasive bush. A recent inspection said “all was well”. I was hoping they would be professional and take good care of my house. Obviously they failed.
Good Morning Nora, Thank you for getting in touch and thank you for your email to the Property Maintenance team last night, I understand Jordan has already responded. I’m sorry that you are not satisfied with the report completed in May 2022. Jordan has reviewed the midterm report vs the inventory completed in June 2021 and the patio looks to be in a very similar condition from when the inventory was done last year which is why nothing was reported; and checking gutters isn’t something that is done by the staff completing the property visits. I understand the property management team have now offered to have the gutters cleared and the plant growing up the wall removed and will wait for your instructions re this and any other work you might want completed. We do understand your frustration as clearly you want to ensure your property is kept to a high standard, please do always email repairs@mishonmackay.com with any questions or concerns you have and they will always ensure a proactive response.

When one buys a property a minor frustration is that the estate agent involved in the sale may have been the most hopeless of the 10 that you dealt with which is exactly what happened to me in 2012. The estate agent who handled the sale was gone during the legal shenanigans and his replacement left before it was complete, the 3rd guy didn't have a clue, none of them had a clue frankly, luckily the vendor and I pretty much drove the sale.By a happy contrast this time round Mishon Mackay were the best estate agent that I dealt with, I was happy they got the sale! Mark, Amy and Sue have been totally lovely to deal with throughout and have shown a lovely professionalism, shook up the legal process when it got a bit slow and generally have all been stars. In fact the original offer I made was not accepted but then the successful one hit a problem and they came back to me. So, I had experience of them dealing with an unsuccessful offer too and they took the time to explain everything to me at the time which frankly, most estate agents don't do. So, all in all, it was a great experience and I recommend them wholeheartedly. If I ever sell, I will instruct them for sure.

Literally two different agents just stopped answering my emails after I asked some questions about other options and gurantor. I was going to take the offer if they just simply replied, because i wanted to feel safe. they knew that i had troubles reaching out on phone because im overseas (same for them). she said the processes is still doable and she will help me. Getting a housing is very important and i felt that ive lost time and didnt get anything out of it.

My review is specifically for Mark Welton as I have only had dealings with him. We bought a property from Mark in 2015 which went extremely smoothly. When we came to sell that same house this year (2021) we immediately thought of him, but as we were letting the property we felt tied to the managing agents. After 10 weeks with no interest we took it off the market and asked Mark to take it over and sell it for us. After 2 days of viewings, he had secured numerous offers for us. We sold for 35k over asking price. I should also mention that we were living in America, so Mark had to deal with our tenants, during Covid, with difficult time differences. He also managed to get the sale done quickly, before the stamp duty holiday ended. Mark often communicated with me outside of office hours, regularly late in the evening, to suit my timing. He was extremely professional and detailed. He handled some tricky issues with our tenants, keeping them on side at a time when they could have made the sale impossible.It really makes a world of difference who you choose to sell your property. All agents are absolutely not equal!I wouldn’t hesitate to use Mark in the future and fully recommend him to anyone wishing to experience a higher level, more professional approach. He is certainly the best estate agent I have ever had dealings with.

we had a lovely holiday, but on arrival the apartment was dirty and smelly, food left in fridge, beetroot and juice spilt in the fridge and floor, toilet and toilet brush stained, mop smelly and just left under the stairs, used tissues stuffed down side of sofa. we did have a lovely time maybe the cleaner was having a bad day.

I have recently sold a leasehold property in Hove, with a shared freehold. There were numerous snags along the way, none of which were caused by Mishon Mackay.They have been sympathetic and courteous throughout and thoroughly professional.They have also been very helpful with auxiliary things like finding boiler engineers and furniture removers. A considerable benefit as I don't live in the area.Overall, I am very satisfied.

My experience with this agency is of the most appalling. I’m a tenant accommodating visits. Despite I put stickers on the door as a reminder to take off shoes and hand sanitisers for all visitors and leave the house to let them in as per government guidelines, they have behaved in the most unprofessional way. Heavy and dirty footsteps everywhere on the carpet, in addition to my most valuable possessions scattered on the floor when I got back. I had the feeling a burglar just broke in, which is very distressing. Allowing children or pets in my flat, with tenants at risk and not yet vaccinated, in spite of government guidelines. One would wish that people take pride and dignity and a minimum level of professionalism, regardless of how tedious their job is. It’s certainly not the case for this agency.
Hi MariaIt was good to chat about this yesterday. Firstly let me apologise if you feel that we have been at all unprofessional in our approach. I have spoken to the Branch Manager of the relevant office however and she tells me that they have conducted in excess of 30 viewings at the flat and not experienced any problems or negative feedback from you until recently. In fact she did tell me that prior to the most recent viewing she had actually picked several items of yours up to keep them out of harms way, including for example your MacBook. I am also told that the people viewing were in fact asked to remove, and did take off, their shoes prior to entering the flat. I have asked the team to be careful if future visits are required and I hope that you wont have cause to review us negatively again. Kind regardsSteve Neocleous
