Rented with Richard Kendall for around 18 months. Due to work commitments (which I previously stated my concerns when signing a lease) I had to relocate in end of January (21st) 1 month before my rental contract ended (1st March).... I have since been charged for a re-listing fee for the property, a full month rent, they kept my deposit (which was my monthly rent + £100 - for a penalty of moving out early). Left the premises with no physical inspection/check out, was instructed to post the keys through their letter box! Then got billed an additional £110 for cleaning, despite the fact that I had already done that job with dated photo evidence. They were uninterested to say the least and continuously hounded me asking when will they be getting the money for the cleaners. A quick google search has pulled no results up for Lynne Cleaning Services of Lofthouse and the invoice genuinely looks like a quickly put together Microsoft Word document with some clipart of a mop! What turned out to be a positive by getting a promotion and relocating to another part of the UK, unfortunately has cost me greatly financially from Richard Kendall. Based on this, I would be very unwilling to take up another lease with Richard Kendall, nor would I encourage anybody to do so.

Sensible, professional estate agents

We rented a house in Wakefield with Richard & Kendall Estate Agents for 16 months. The rental ended up in a Section 21 eviction notice. It was an unusual and a stressful situation for us, but we managed it with some professional help from the agency. The agency itself is well organised. Their employees are helpful, responsive and act quick when necessary. Overall, even though our tenancy ended in an unexpected manner, our experience with the company was positive. Hence 5 stars. What a wonderfull warm friendly estate agents to use. These ladies at the Castleford branch could not do enough for us chasing solictors and vendors etc. Nothing was too much of a problem for them. Grateful for all their support. Without them we would have struggled with the fact that we didn’t get support and advise from purple bricks. Who take your money and run from day one.
