I don't write reviews for people who are doing their job. I only write reviews when I feel someone has gone above and beyond what is expected of them. My wife and I recently (May 2022) purchased our new home through Sowerbys Estate agents, so technically we were not even their client. However, the service that we received from them has far exceeded all expectations. Our seller's agent was Laura Bird who has been exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble and she always responded to our many queries promptly and efficiently. Laura chased solicitors for us (she must be their worst nightmare!), but she got the job done, she even chased our own agent for the property we were selling. Laura was the only person we dealt with who was always 'on the ball'. If not for her, we would not even have known the current situation or what was holding things up. If ever I sell a property in the future, I want Laura to do it for us! My words to Laura were 'You are a beacon of light in a sea of idiots'. It has honestly been a pleasure to leave this review and having read some other reviews, I am not alone in thinking the above. Thank you Laura it has truly been a great pleasure. We bought a property through Sowerby's a couple of years ago, and they were excellent, so when it came to selling, we immediately gave them a call - and I'm so glad we did. Laura Bird managed our sale and she was nothing short of outstanding. She's professional, friendly, efficient - and gets the job done with amazing results. A condition of our offer was to complete pre-christmas - which gave us about a month to drive everything through. We have been delighted with our experience so far from the wonderful team at Sowerbys Holt branch. From making the call to get a valuation through to agreeing a sale they have been faultless. As the markets have changed and there is so much negative press about house prices and interest rates at the moment, we nearly didn’t put our property on. We had 5-6 viewings and within a week a great offer. We are now being guided through the solicitor process and hopefully exchange isn’t too far away. They know the market inside out we are delighted we chose them.

We are impressed by Sowerby's service and feel that they have been one of the most pro active of local agents we have experienced sending a regular supply of properties for us to consider. All of the staff we encountered, from Mark who showed us around a property to Laura, the senior negotiator and Paul, the local director were helpful and understanding. I felt they really engaged personally with us in our search. All bids are confirmed in writing which is something we have not experienced with some other agents!

So it proved with our sale but fortunately the Sowerbys team were always available with friendly yet professional assistance. The marketing brochure was superb, viewings were managed efficiently, feedback passed on promptly and advice always on hand.
