If I could leave less than one star I would! We had an awful experience with Intercounty, we were buying a house that they had on the market. They recommended a solicitor to their sellers that would not pick up the phone, respond to any emails etc, a member of staff at Intercounty outright lied about a conversation with our solicitor, then they were asking our solicitor for her advice! The whole experience was a shambles and held up our house move for weeks on end. When we asked for compensation they refused, it’s a small world and reputation is everything, by reading some of these reviews we are not the only people that had had a terrible experience!

The solicitors that acted for our sellers had to be specialists in their field due to the circumstances as you understand. Though we share your feelings that they were not as efficient as we hoped through the transaction, we worked diligently with you, escalating the matter to the most senior people within that business, along with keeping you all fully informed of our findings. Once we had the part of the chain they were involved in ready, further delays happened due to the lower part of the chain not being ready, so though I agree the overall service from these lawyers could have been better, other factors slowed the transaction down. Our team work in an honest and transparent manner at all times. As per the managers response to your concerns raised, I do not agree that a member of our team lied or misled you in any way. We have only started renting our property through intercounty. Since we moved in (during lockdown) we have been very happy with the work of Allison Branch and her contractor Terry. Allison is always on hand if you’ve got a problem. When problems have arisen, a Allison has sent Terry out to solve the problem. Today he has laid a new floor in my kitchen. Terry is a very polite man, I feel very comfortable around him and he is very kind and playful with my 3 year old daughter. I have never felt so comfortable with a contractor before. He listens to what needs to be done and carry’s out the work to a very high standard. Thank you Allison and Terry for all your hard work.

My fiance and I have just purchased a property with Intercountry Estate and we felt we should share our experience so far. Right from the beginning we were pleasantly surprised with how laid back, non pushy, however extremely knowledgeable and very helpful Peter was. He allowed us to look through the house without breathing down our necks and any questions we had, he knew the answers. We have also dealt with Lisa, who has been extremely helpful booking multiple viewings to the same property and an excellent communicator between us and the seller. We are still in the very early stages of the process but we feel extremely comfortable and at ease, with both Intercountry Estate and the sellers.

GoogleI loved the experience with intercounty. I came to Harlow, didn't manage to get the time to get a view. Mollie was kind enough to go in to the flat and send me a video of the flat which I picked online. was quite sceptical. when I get to the place I found it perfect. Everything is in order indeed. Kat Keats has been brilliant at managing our property and it’s always such a pleasure to speak to her. Kat is so capable, pragmatic, efficient and very trustworthy. When Kat took a break from the business things definitely went astray and we were so grateful when she came back. With Kat we always felt the property was well looked after. We were very sad to say goodbye when we sold the property. Josh and Charlotte could not have been more helpful with handling the sale. We felt we were in very capable hands, they really know their stuff, really on the ball with all the detail and nothing phases them. Between Kat and Josh we could not have asked for better support. Doug is very personable and easy to deal with. Although we were not a direct client of his, as we were the buyers, he did treat us like one. We had a very lengthy house purchase, and during the 9 months I think I spoke more to Doug than my husband. He was very good at keeping us in the loop and providing regular updates.We also really rate James, he is very down to earth and he offered us lots of good advice. If we were to sell in the future, I would want to use him. I think his career in real estate will go far and I can see him heading up a branch one day in the not so near future.

We have just bought a house that was sold through Intercounty. They have been professional, punctual and personable throughout the whole process. We needed to visit the house on 3 occassions at short notice to survey, measure for carpets and get a quote with a plumber, and it was never a problem gaining access (special thanks to Olivia). It was also helpful to have Doug Whybrow as our liason between the sellers solicitor and our solicitor. He was fantastic at keeping us informed of progress and helping out with any queries.

Chloe Haken and Luke Harrison at Braintree had to work very hard in the final days of securing the tenants for our property through no fault of their own AND neither was it ours or the tenants!! The referencing agency, sadly I do not have their name yet, fell woefully short of what it says on the tin, REFERENCING. They failed to pursue the stumbling block as ferociously as these two employees had to and dealing with the payroll department of a High Street frozen food company who only deign to answer their phones for two hours a day has to be experienced to be believed! Such incompetence and indifference. Chloe had been on hold for nearly half an hour to this company when we arrived in the office and finally she got through and explained very clearly what was required and we needed it now not next week. She got it. These two have more patience than I have and now our tenants are moving in after a delay of many days. Thank you Chloe and Luke.

Intercounty have been fantastic from the beginning right through to the day we sold our house. The promotion of our house and the specification of the sales brochure was excellently thought out and attractive to new buyers.Andy was always available when we needed him and everyone at south Woodham branch were friendly and approachable.They have always been quick to chase up other buyers and solicitors within the chain to ensure that all sales and purchases run smoothly.If we ever sold again we would definitely use Intercounty.

Helen Mehmet graciously drove me from property to property in winter 2018/19, listened to our requirements, saw how much we had brought from South Africa, and then searched for something that could meet our needs. I think she did a good job of showing me a range of sizes and locations so that I could understand where our property fits into the housing stock on the market.She was always friendly and professional and came up with two properties that were potentially suitable. There is probably a bigger property out there but we settled on a house built in 1956. Being old it needs some work but it is ours: no more paying rent (and therefore paying off the landlord's mortgage!). We have parking, a garage and a room we have dedicated to laundry: drying, ironing, folding all in one place. Fantastic!Buying a house in the UK was onerous: we discovered it is a very expensive process, complicated, confusing and stressful. In that regard our solicitor from Premier Property really looked after our interests and advised us.

After deciding to rent my flat I saw 3 agents from different companies.I was most impressed with Dan from the initial meeting, he was very thorough, had excellent knowledge of the rental market and great advice for a new landlord.He worked with me to my timeframe and after advertising the flat to rent it was taken 4 days later!I wasn’t aware there was so much to sort out when renting a property, however I can say that working with Dan has made the process as easy as possible for me. Nothing was too much trouble, whether it was a query I had via email or telephone, and always responded the same day. When I was packing he came to me at the flat as it was easier for me.Excellent customer service and I cant recommend Dan highly enough.Many thanks Diane

We have been renting our property through Intercounty for two years and as long term tenants we are extremely happy and satisfied with the excellent service we have received through the Bishops Stortford office. Any problems or concerns we had before or during our Rental have been quickly and efficiently resolved and all of the members of Intercounty have been very professional and given great and friendly service.Our personal Property Manager has been a wonderful help at all times and so extremely helpful with anything we have needed assistance with. Intercounty helped me find my first home! Everyone always answered my phone calls and even texted me when convenient when I was a work and couldn’t answer the phone. And questions I had big or small there was always someone there, right from how to pay my bills to setting up insurance for my contents and my self! But a special thank you to Dom and Luke and the other man who’s name I can’t remember at Braintree for their professionalism throughout and of course their constant banter and entertainment making a stressful situation enjoyable and unforgettable! Very impressed with the efficient and proactive service provided by Intercounty in Old Harlow, particularly Brandon, Matthew and Jason. They went over and above to help me with my sale and purchase, even assisting with my property back home while I was on holiday. When any issues came up (which inevitably happens with any property sale and purchase) they were quick to communicate and keep all parties informed. I would have no hesitation in recommending Intercounty to friends and family.

GoogleI had terrible experience with them. They exploit your interest in a property and make sure that you either compete with yourself in making higher offers by making you believe that there are other imaginary buyers who are keen to buy the same property or they will sell it to someone else who shows lesser interest and paying the same amount as you. Instead of facilitating your purchase, they use your offer as a tool for other people to make higher offers and pick and choose between people at their whim ignoring all your efforts for a couple of more quids. Very unprofessional and unethical approach to conduct a business.
Hello there, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, I am very disappointed to hear your feedback. We have tried to reach out to you by phone and email but not had a response back from you. I understand your frustrations as you missed out on a property you were interested in. We received your offer, at less than the asking price on the 15th October. We informed you on the day that the seller wanted the viewings for the next two days to go ahead before making a decision & we subsequently carried these viewings out. Your offer was rejected on the 17th October and we explained the seller was looking for closer to the asking price. You advised my colleague at this stage that you had made your best offer and wouldn't increase. On the 21st October we received another offer and the office left a message for you to advise you of this and see if you wished to make a higher offer. You called back on the 22nd but by that time they had accepted the other offer. I can see that the team have kept you informed of progress throughout the offer stages, so that you had a fair chance to secure the property. We have been extremely impressed with Intercounty Bishop’s Stortford, from start to finish. From the first class customer service we received from Meg (when we first walked in last year). This was then followed by excellent service from Helen Mehmet, who worked tirelessly on our behalf by securing our sale and purchase (to which we’re both extremely grateful to her for). We then dealt with Doug Whybrow thereafter, who has been very efficient and professional throughout this process. We are now due to complete on Tuesday. We highly recommend this Estate Agent. They have certainly put any scepticism, that we have had due to past experiences, finally to bed.
