I called Halifax branch and I got through immediately to Sarah Broadbent . She was kind , very helpful and explained all the information step by step . We needed a house for our family of 4,we are moving from Cambridgeshire to Halifax which is stressful enough because of the distance. Sarah immediately took actions about the property that we have required and she did an amazing job . She organised everything and complete all the necessary steps within a space of 24 hrs . We couldn't be more grateful for the help that we have received from Sarah. She even organised our checks to be done in Cambridgeshire so we wouldn't have to come down to Halifax all that way just to sign documents. We are extremely happy and thanful . We met Lee Johnson from Countrywide without any knowledge about house buying or what is needed to make it happen. He enabled us to create our credit profile as we had never had credit before and needed this to get a mortgage. He told us everything about getting the maximum we can afford from our salaries, making sure we had the best mortgage provider/rate and also ensuring that if anything bad was to happen, the house and our earnings would be covered and the house would be paid for! Lee I cannot thank you enough for enabling me and my wife go from renting to homeowners with peace of mind. Especially during a time of mortgage uncertainty (late 2022). Fantastic work! I live in the apartment for a while now. Service good for selling or renting properties , but if something broken in the house plus in my contract says if something brokens I have to report online . Nobody will take actions for that , landlord disappears and agency not care at all , I have been with few agencies before in Halifax they much more productive and looking after to tenant’s needs all the time . I don’t recommended go with the bridgfords agency at all

I had an appointment booked for today…

I had an appointment booked for today at 2.p.m with the view to put my house on the market so I would be in a position to make an offer on a viewing tomorrow. I received a call around 1.30 to inform me that the agent is running 30 minutes late, making the expected visit for 2.30. 3.15 came. I rang the agents to be told she's not attending. To rub salt in the wounds furthermore I was told she couldn't come to me because of traffic and she would make the visit after me late. Viewing cancelled as I had wasted my day off waiting round for nothing.

Contractors should avoid at all costs!

Contractors should avoid at all costs!! We fitted a cylinder in a property for this agent, and have received no payment, now three month overdue. They tried to pass us onto the landlord when we’ve worked direct with them. We’ve still heard nothing, despite numerous calls, emails, complaints. We will be forced to get a debt recovery involved. Would not recommend working for them!

We used Bridgfords to sell a property and have been very disappointed with their service. They did find a buyer, but the process after that was extremely poor. Three months on, the buyer still hadn’t even sent initial documents to their solicitor, and progress was at a standstill. We expected Bridgfords, as the appointed estate agent, to manage the process more proactively, chasing the buyer, keeping us updated, and ensuring things moved along. Unfortunately, their communication was poor throughout, and we constantly had to chase for updates ourselves. Overall, very frustrating experience and we would not recommend them based on this.

Extremely unprofessional company.Absolutely no communication skills with each other (or with us as the landlords). This resulted in us losing money, and money being taken incorrectly on several occasions.Whenever an issue was raised with Stephen, we had to send numerous emails over weeks to receive any answers as to what was going on. They always had to be chased up, and would never email on their own to let us know what was happening.When an issue had been raised, some staff would send patronising emails, rather than trying to solve the issue, especially Chloe and Lauren. This was just another area of unprofessionalism that was shown.A company that was sent to take photos to assess damage to the property was appalling. They 'forgot' to take photographs of important areas that had been damaged, such as the flooring that had come up.A tenant reported a leak to the company, which was not reported to us at all (again a lack of communication). This resulted in us having to pay over 1500 pounds for a new floor.We were told that no further money was owed to the company, and all that was left to sort was the amount of deposit money that would be returned to us for damages to the property. When we received this, hundreds of pounds had been deducted from the company, with no explanation as to what this was and why this was deducted.On another occasion, we told the company not to carry out an annual gas check as the tenant was leaving. They ignored this, did not even bother to let us know that they had carried this out until over 2 months later when we continuously questioned what was going on. We never received this money back, and despite emails proving the lack of communication, not even an apology was given.It became extremely obvious that this is simply a money making business, with no regard for the customer. We originally had Bridgfords in full control of the property, however with every necessary repair, they would always quote ridiculous amounts compared to any other company that we dealt with. They tried to take money off us at every opportunity, again with a lack of explanation and no actual service.We have numerous properties, and would definitely not recommend this company, or use them to manage any of our properties in the future. A huge improvement in communication and professionalism needs to be made.
