Lee Johnson (Mortgage & Protection Consultant) secured our mortgage offer as well as Life Insurance and Income protection. Throughout all the steps he explained everything with great detail whilst remaining clear and understandable. He was also able to provide us a with an affordability assessment straight off the bat which in turn helped us secure a realistic offer on our prospective house too. Lee was always contactable even when extremely busy and made time for us even if we had a really basic question. Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience with Bridgfords while selling our house. Don't make the mistake we made of choosing them because they came in with a higher valuation than all the other agents. Because their fees are fixed at a % of the initial valuation, once the property is in on the market there's no incentive for them to actually achieve their valuation - you pay them the same commission no matter what price you eventually sell for. They also added to the stress of the process with poor communication. There were days when it was virtually impossible to get through to them on the phone, including at really important stages like when we were trying to accept or negotiate an offer. If we could do it again, we'd definitely choose a different agent.

This is the second time we have used Bridgfords in Halifax. We looked around for Mortgage deals back in 2018 as first time buyers and fortunately after numerous discussions with different agents and banks we came across Bridgfords and Lee Johnson. Lee is a fantastic Mortgage Broker and will go well out of his way to ensure you understand every aspect of the application and ensure you get the best value for money you possibly can. As stated we are now using Bridgfords again but this time to sell our exisiting home due to requiring more space. Within the space of our property being listed on the market and the following 24 hours we had 5 confirmed viewing with a further 3 the following day. After the initial viewings we received 2 offers at the asking a price with a few other interested parties or requests for a second viewing. Amy carried out the viewings at a suitable time for ourselves with home working and is a credit to the team, Amy kept us updated with any new offers or viewings that had been scheduled ensuring it fitted with our schedule before confirming. Lee Johnson is again sorting out our new mortgage application to ensure our affordability and costs are all in line with our requirements. Lee has always been on hand to help with any queries from looking at the buying property to obtain further information, updating us with any required documents and booking in remote meetings within short notice if required taking time out of his busy schedule to keep us updated. I always do and could not recommend Lee for any Mortgage requirements to anyone and everyone who is looking for a reliable and trust worthy mortgage Broker. We have also had some contact with Alex at Bridgfords when we have been chassed by the other vendor (for the house we are buying) for any updates. Alex has provided us with the relevant and current information we required at the time. I would always recommend using a reputable estate agent when selling or searching for any property as this does make the whole process run much more smoothly. We are now just waiting for the sale side to tie up and our buying process to begin in which we hope that we can complete and be in our new home before the end of September (before the stamp duty returns to normal). I used Lee Johnson when purchasing my first home, he was an absolutely amazing point of contact throughout the whole process. Initially I put in an offer on a house and my mortgage offer did not come through as the property had a load of issues but Lee gave me the best advice and found me an amazing mortgage deal on the house that I put an offer on. Lee was so supportive and friendly throughout the whole process, calmly going through all the options and listening to me when I was upset. Absolutely blown away by the wonderful service at Bridgfords Halifax branch. From the initial conversation with Alex the manager who came out promptly to value our house and give us options of how to market to our decision to go with modern auction was only a couple of days. The write up was excellent and completed quickly. The photos were also brilliant. The property gained immense interest no doubt due to the amazing marketing skills of the staff and Alex (the other one!) and Courtney were fabulous at showing the multitudes of prospective buyers around the property. We were kept informed every step of the way and they really cared and gave us their full attention. Today the house sold for way above listing price and we are ecstatic. The staff were all watching the auction this morning and were as excited and happy as we were. I would also mention that Stephen from I am sold auction house was an absolute treasure too. Well what I can say! SHOCKING SERVICE.

Well what I can say!! After 7 years we have had enough and made the decision to move after countless problems. I am now having to move away from the area I grew up in and also I have to let my pet dog go after all the problems and YES BRIDGFORDS YOU ARE TO BLAME!!!! When we moved into the property it was just about habitable, it should not of been presented in the way it was but we were desperate. Over the years we improved the property ourselves and made it a nice home and we genuinely felt at home. Problems included heating pump problems, shower problems, we were left without a gas hob for 6 weeks, had to live practically off ready meals. Roof leaks, boiler problems which take weeks or even months to resolve. The penultimate decision to move was made when we were left without heating over the Christmas period, the house ended up like an ice box to the extreme causing massive distress to us and our young children, but they just don't care, waiting days and days for quotes to be accepted. Money comes before Health and Safety with these guys and to top it off we are being harassed to arrange viewings for new tenants, absolute joke. Unlucky for them is that I know property law, probably better than them and I have the right to refuse access to them until tenancy agreement ends. No one from the agency has ever been out to inspect the property in 7 years but they are willing to show people around, for they all know the property could be trashed. Absolutely unprofessional, some staff should be nowhere near the business of real estate. I think they think that payment of rent is just for the property, its not you pay rent for a service to which you do not get! DO NOT RENT A PROPERTY FROM BRIDGFORDS. Its just a shame it has come to this but they are to BLAME FOR IT ALL!! SIMPLE. GOOD LUCK TO WHOEVER MOVES IN!!

Without this we’d have been stuck paying early repayment fees but by sorting our mortgage with our existing provider we avoided these costs. After our original mortgage broker (a national company) was unsuccessful in finding us a suitable mortgage, we switched to Lee as the property we have now bought was listed with Bridgfords.
