GoogleWe had a viewing of a DJ Alexander property with Matthew, who was just about the most professional and positive letting agent I've ever encountered. He was knowledgeable, excited and great with communication, prompt to reply and keep us updated. Unfortunately the process with DJ Alexander as a company from then on was not great. We felt like we were great candidates with income far exceeding what they wanted, but faced scrutiny and a negative attitude for our unconventional income sources, we were asked to pay 6 months rent upfront which, although was well within our means, felt mistrusting and unreasonable and most people would not be in a position to do this, and we felt like we were not seen as good candidates. This impression was given before the landlord had even been contacted, so it felt a great deal like someone at DJ Alexander had dismissed us before giving us a chance. Matthew himself was objective throughout this process and was very clear that he was presenting candidates equally and fairly based on our information, but it seemed like behind the scenes there were numerous issues with us and it left a sour taste. Ultimately, we have gone with another letting agent.

Do not trust this company and do not rent from them. I rented a flat in Glasgow. The condition when I got it was appalling. It took me 2 solid days to clean the flat prior to moving in. I e mailed them regarding this and had no feedback. 4 months later when I moved out and I was charged over £100 for the cleaning of the property. I tried to get explanations for being given a dirty flat and then was charged for cleaning it even though it was left 100% cleaner than it was received. An employee called Chris was one of the most useless individuals that I have had the experience of dealing with. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE OUT OF POCKET

This company are only interested in getting their management fees.The have zero interest in ensuring their landlords comply with current legislations.They have zero interest in the health and safety of their tenants.They don't do their due diligence on properties they take on and their customer care is non existent.The repairs and maintenance team provide a very poor service.If you value your health don't let a property from them, go to a reputable agency

If I could give zero stars I would. We rented for 4 years with DJ Alexander and we had lots of issues with the property (those in themselves I realise weren’t DJs fault). They were slow to resolve all of them, once requiring a formal complaint to get it resolved. We have since moved out and our now fighting to get the deposit back as they are trying to charge us for “cleaning” which we know wasn’t necessary as we scrubbed the flat to a higher standard than it was when we moved in before we left!! I suspect they are charging for repainting since they did none of this while we were tenants and the flat needed a good facelift. Somehow still managed to have it “ready to move in” the day after our tenancy finished though which makes me believe even more that they did nothing. My advice: look elsewhere. If you MUST use this company then take heed and good luck to you.Update: I sent an email to the person who replied below, yesterday 31/10/22. No reply yet.Update again 01/11/22: Had a reply from someone called a “customer service advisor” stating they agree with everything said. Beginning to regret even cleaning the property in the first place before we left it since we aren’t getting the full deposit back. This is the first property we haven’t had full deposit back on. The only saving grace is we never have to deal with this company again.

I moved out of the flat 4 months ago and DJ Alexander refuses to release me from the lease. I have given my notice far more than the contract says. They don’t want to help at all. I have called them several times but still nothing. It is a joined tenancy and they don't want to even speak to the other party in order to release me from the contract You are the worst office ever. Please think twice before you collaborate with them.

GoogleRecently moved house into a property with D.J Alexander. Have to say , David Sullivan was excellent the property was a good size but in a state of disrepair. We told David we would like to take the property if it was redecorated - he liaised with the land lord to organise this, and even wrote it into our lease that we would not have to take the property if required work was not completed. We are very happy with the property and David was great.

GoogleMiss Diane Harte is an exceptional agent and Property Manager. Diane was punctual for the meetings and was helpful with all our questions and concerns before moving in. During the transition, Diane kept me up to date with any progress and any documents I need to provide. She connected me to the right people for certain matters such as paying the deposit and was very helpful through the process. On the day we moved in, Diane was there and helped us finally settle in and provided an inventory and important contact numbers for various DJ Alexander branches. I highly recommend Miss Diane Harte, she is informative, helpful and a very kind person.

GoogleI have rented homes in the past with agencies but DJ Alexander is different to other agencies. The end to end process is very smooth and especially the digitial experience in contract signing and smooth handling by everyone of the staff is really amazing. A special mention about Diane Harte here, the prompt response and ease provided to a new comer to Glasgow from London is really appreciated. I expect the services to remain the same and keep up the good work that you have been doing collectively.

This is the worst company I have ever come across. They are so unprofessional and always too busy. We got a viewing, which takes a shocking amount of time, if at all because they use an unreliable automated service. When you call them they tell you that if you haven't received an email they can't do anything about it, we asked for the application form and were told we were the best candidates to put forward. Today I note the property is now let, despite having no email or even an acknowledgement of our application, which was sent a matter of hours after the viewing. They don't care about their clients or prospective tenants and take no accountability for their shortcomings.Just an email to say we hadn't been successful would have been courtesy.
