To say they their service is appalling…
To say they their service is appalling would be a compliment to the incompetence and total lack of customer interest or care! After a split from my wife Aberdein Considine were 'trusted' to deal with the change in Title Deeds. This is now over 2 years later and still I do not the revised Deeds. Having spoken directly with the Registers of Scotland direct they confirmed Aberdein incorrectly submitted the initial request which meant the Deeds/paperwork needed to be returned for amendment, this caused months of delays!. Over a 18months has gone by at this stage. When Aberdein finally managed to resubmit the request it went to the bottom of the pile at Register House. Again I have kept regular contact with the Registers fo Scotland who have been exceptional in their handling of my issues and tracing cause of delays etc and whom expedited the request several weeks past.Today I received an email from the Registers of Scotland confirming my Title Deeds have been sent to Aberdein Considine on 13th may 2022 however true to form Aberdein Considine have yet to inform me of this or to make any contact! My best advice to anyone thinking of use their services to think very very carefully, they fail to inform, they fail to communicate, they fail to carry out work paid for in advance, the just FAIL on so many levels.I'm sure once this feedback has gone LIVE, the same old over used and worn out excuses will follow - it's covid, it's a resource issue, it's, it's, it's .....!!!

Their incompetence will cost you thousands...
Terrible experience with this company, which is clearly not an isolated case judging by the reviews. Here's a summary of how bad it was:- I sent all docs back 3 months prior to remortgage date- I had confirmation that all was in order and I shouldn't need to hear from them until completion- I chased up 2 weeks before remortgage. No reply- I called many times, impossible to get through- My mortgage broker had to speak to the lender directly and get them to chase their contact at Aberdein Considine- Once pushed, they replied saying there were outstanding docs and an anti fraud check required, all of which could have been checked 3 months or anytime between then and the re-mortgage deadline- Instead, I went onto the standard variable rate. Still on it by the way, a month later...- I'm paying hundreds of additional pounds per month as a result- They are impossible to get hold of on the phone or email- I chased to check a doc I sent had been received. Eventually I got through and found out it had been received 3 working days ago but not acted onI cannot tell you how stressful the experience has been and how incompetent they are.I will be raising this with the Legal Ombudsman as the service level is just not acceptable. And they gave me incorrect information.Sounds like another reviewer also did the same thing. Wasting everyone's time and money. Please do not use this service. Get your own solicitor instead as it will cost you less in the long run.

Dreadful experience
Dreadful experience, do not expect to able to get hold of them, it would have taken me less time to drive 3 hours to see them than chase a follow-up. You can only get an answer from a phone if your relentless wait over 20 minutes- there is no customer service based on how they are prepared to ghost you- avoid at all costs! its not acceptable in this age to not be able to pick up a phone !

Aberdein Considine remortgage service is a disgrace
Like several other people I also suffered because of the incompetence of the remortgage people at Aberdein Considine. It was almost impossible to contact them by telephone with hold times usually in excess of half an hour. They never responded to e mails. If you ever did manage to get through the staff often made promises to progress matters which they then never did. Aberdein Considine are a disgrace. However, the mortgage companies who promote "free legals" need to take some responsibility for the fiasco created by these solicitors. Avoid Aberdein Considine at all costs as it better to use a solicitor you can trust.

Positive house-selling experience
We sold our house with Aberdein Considine and received excellent service the whole way through, from the start when Adam valued the house to when Abbie, Rebecca and Stephanie handled the client viewings and follow-ups. We received an offer quickly and the process was smooth and easy. We also had a useful financial review from Sam who sorted out a new insurance policy for us. Thank you to the team for an all-round positive experience.

Shocking and incompetent
I am a mortgage broker and placed a remortgage case with NatWest for one of my clients. Aberdein Considine were instructed by the lender to carry out the legal on the remortgage. The problem is that they are doing nothing. They have had the mortgage offer for 10 weeks and the client hasn't completed. They do not answer the phone or emails. My client has had 2 months paying the high standard variable rate with his current lender and it looks like it will soon be a third month. We shall be putting in a complaint, which I imagine will be ignored as everything else is!

Left outside waiting for a viewing that was confirmed but never happened, team took 15min to get back to me after my own attempt of getting in touch... No availability for rearranging the viewing for the same date. Opened to change my opinion when the next viewing actually happens and everything goes well!

You could go anywhere and get a better service than theirs
I am currently remortgaging and the bank is using Aberdein and Considine's Newcastle branch. My advice is send an email to them and call them before you use their services. When neither gets answered you will get an idea of what the next few months of your life will be like. Only 2 of my emails from at least 10 have been answered and these were by people not connected with my case so unable to help. In 6 weeks of calling, I have got through twice and neither could give me any information! My case officer introduced himself two weeks ago by email, by which time any other solicitors would have completed the process, and has not replied since to any of my emails and his direct number doesn't dial. I use solicitors for this work on a fairly regular basis and you will be able to go anywhere and get a better service than this.

Horrendous Company (DO NOT USE)
Remortgaged our property to NatWest and Aberdein Considine were provided as part of the free legal services packages.I have bought several properties and also remortgaged quote a few and I can safely say that that this is the worst company I have ever used.We started the process 4 months early so that the mortgage would be sorted before our fixed rate deal expires, however this 4 month date has now passed and we are no where near getting sorted with a easy remortgage deal. This is also costing us an extra £350 per month due to the variable rate being double what our fixed rate is.It is impossible to contact anyone at the company by phone, Twitter, post, Facebook and even via NatWest who have also tried to contact them. The phone continually rings out, no option to leave a voicemail and when you send an email you get a response to say they will reply in 3 hrs, which lead to weeks and months and nothing is ever received. This company should be struck off and after reading the reviews it seems like this is the norm.I would just pay to go to another solicitor, however after providing all my documents it will be starting the process again which will lead to further months of additional mortgage payments at a higher rate. Please do not use this company they are simply horrendous.

Excellent Service at AC&Co Dyce
Would highly recommend Aberdein Considine, and particularly the staff at the Dyce office - we bought our first home through them, and the whole process from getting the mortgage to the legal purchase of the house was managed in such a professional smooth manner. Every person we dealt with made a concerted effort to go above and beyond, ensuring we were kept updated and informed. Really impressed with and grateful for their expertise - highly recommended!!

Avoid at all costs
Been trying to get them to complete on my re-mortgage since Nov 21. They fail to stay in touch, fail to respond to emails, failed to chase my bank for a redemption statement, didn't notice when said redemption statement was wrong, failed to then complete on the second attempt and we are now almost May with my remortgage still not completed. So far they have cost me £1000 extra in mortgage costs, hours of my time and they are now not answering their phones. Even the service that says to leave a message doesn't work! Absolutely horrific and if it were not for my mortgage broker using them, I'd go elsewhere now.

Selling from a distance
Selling a family members property when not living in the area was causing me some stress, however, all the staff at Aberdein Considine have done everything they can to alleviate my stress and kept me informed at all times. They sorted out all surveys and all viewings and I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism throughout this process, they have been a dream to work with

This story could be funny if did not annnoy a whole family of tenants and a landlady who was always nice with her tenants. Aberdeine Considine lost the management of maissonete in Windford, because of its lack of professionality and not satisfying the proprietors, raising prices of repairs etc. After losing the contract, the branch of Bryes Rd., who never had nothing to do with this tenancy, received a call from a neighbor, attended him, and spreaded gossip with no confirmation of facts regarding these very tenants they even did not know and whose home did not belong to the agency . This is it: the Byres Rd. branch spreaded racist complaints against the tenants from one single flat below, pretending it was a collective complaint.... The lies, all of which are recorded, included that the tenant couple (five years peacefu tenancy, regarding high rank professionals, such a neurobiologist P.h.D and a Notary Public) was running an " illegal laundry" and that tenants "were subletting to a bunch of inmigrants".. . With no grounds for such a nonsense a real estate company transferring absurd lies to a property theY do not manage. We are certain they even ignore what their behaviour mean. Be aware with these people, either if you are tenant or landlord. We all deserve a better industry for Scotland and we people from Europe live in Scotland as our beloved country. can vote in Scotland, pay taxes here, and feel at home. They are simpy wrong. Fellow EU citizen: stand for your rights , and do not let fear in the postbrexit era beat you.

Simple Re-mortgage turned into nightmare by this bunch
Simple Re-mortgage: me buying my brother out of a property we owned jointly freehold, has dragged on for nearly 5 months (Still not sorted) dealing with them is a total nightmare, it would put me off a mortgage providers product knowing that they work with this solicitor. They are totally useless and don't respond to emails or return calls from my brother solicitors, mortgage adviser or myself. It was supposed to be "Free legals" on this mortgage and the first contact letter I had from Aberdein Considine was a price list basically stating I will have to pay for a load of extras, by this time I'm already committed.I think "The Mortgage Lender" should strike them off.Avoid at all costs!! unless you need to drag out a sale or just like banging your head against a brick wall.

Default conveyer for my remortgage
Default conveyer for my remortgage. No communication whatsoever - I was constantly chasing them. Missed my original completion date as they sat on the paperwork for weeks. Long process. Surplice monies was supposed to be sent to me via chaps on completion date as requested, however after I managed to get through to them 3 days later as they do not pick up the phone - I was informed that a cheque had been sent. Which I still haven't got a week later. Very nice on the phone when you can actually speak to someone but feels like as soon as they put the phone down, they forget about you, so nothing is ever followed up. I have spent countless hours chasing them and I'm still awaiting thousands of pounds that should have been sent to me. Really bad customer service and to be avoided at all cost.

Thank you AC for your wonderful service…
Thank you AC for your wonderful service so far in our selling & buying process. We received constant communication with the very patient Becky & have sold in less than 4 weeks. Onwards with our purchase now we feel confident we have such a great team to assist us. Highly recommended.

Great Branch
Caitlin was always helpful, honest and very responsive when I had a question, which was brilliant considering the quick sale of our property was done completely remotely.

Not good at making contact
My mortgage company Halifax, appointment this company to do the legal work for my mortgage. I appreciate my mortgage is rather complex. However, when I phone, they are as nice as can be & say everything is ready, just needs!!!... Signing or whatever. I'll get that posted out, 3/4 days later phone again, oh ok I'll resend or can I email it to you.I say "Email will be great", still waiting..... Someone needs to take charge & keep in contact, at the moment I have waited over 3 months & still waiting. Send u a link for a mortgage tracker, still stuck at 20% completion. That's no use for my mortgage they say. So why send the link? Not impressed, I'll phone the bank in the morning.

Overall a positive experience from start to finish
Selling through Aberdein Considine was a positive experience. They listened and understood our requirements and the team are friendly and professional. The whole process ran smoothly from start to finish with one very minor hiccup when our buyers showed up unannounced to measure for carpets. This wasn’t a problem in the end as we were at home and it gave us an opportunity to meet them. We would buy/sell through Aberdein Considine again.

House sale in Scotland with Aberdein Considine was surprisingly very straight forward
Something always goes wrong with a house sale, even the most simple one. But having gone through a sale in Scotland and a purchase in England, the house sale in Scotland with Aberdein Considine was surprisingly very straight forward.. Wish it was that easy in England, where from the start it has been nothing but trouble. 4 stars instead of 5... well it would be great if they also covered England so we could avoid the trouble we've been having here and use one solicitor for everything.
Where the same review appears twice we show it once. We leave out reviews that name another agent or another of the brand's offices.
Tell us what you need and we'll put you in touch. Aberdein Considine hasn't joined The Trusted Agent yet, so we'll pass your enquiry to them or to up to three other top-rated agents near Glasgow.
