Completely awful agents

Completely awful agents. Throughout out time of being their tenants, the house wasn’t cleaned on arrival, tried to charge us twice when a previous tenant had already paid for a damage, we was given the wrong emergency number, had a broken shower for a month (still paid full rent), tried to make unfair deductions from our holding deposit - this took two months for us to fight, and am currently still waiting on our deposit which is 4 days over the 5-10 day estimate given. Do not recommend at all.

We have had a really good experience with Romans even though the market wasn't in our favour. Grace and Eleanor both worked super hard to get people through the door and excited about the property. Grace is super determined and very encouraging. If we do have another try with Romans in the future I'll be asking to work with her again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It’s a real relief to deal with a letting agency like Romans in Fleet, professional, reliable, and communicative from start to finish. Nick in the lettings team was clear, honest, and helpful throughout the whole rental process, making everything smooth and stress-free. In the property management side of things Debra, who has been incredibly responsive and supportive has been super prompt in supporting me with all communications. Any issues have been handled promptly and professionally, which is not something you can take for granted these days. After a few bad experiences elsewhere, it’s reassuring to deal with an agency that doesn’t ghost you or try to play games with your deposit. This experience clearly reflects the selective choice of the Landlord who has been very kind and nice, and the actual management at Romans. Romans have been a breath of fresh air, and I genuinely recommend them to anyone renting in the area.

Unfortunately I have bad experiences with Romans. After viewing a property that I loved the guy showing me around said it would be all painted for when we moved in . What a actual lie when we moved in nothing was done at all the place was a total mess. Everytime I rang Romans it's always a answer phone you leave you name and number to call you back but they never do so I have to travel to go to the estate agents even then they say oh we call you or email you but guess what they never do. They are absolutely useless no great service at all.i was actually told DO NOT rent from Romans but I thought they can't be that bad but I wish I had listened. So if you want good service please please don't not use Romans. They lie to you so much . They need to be trained properly and treat there customers with respect and keep the tenants up to date on things and not lie to them.

If I could give zero stars

If I could give zero stars, I would. My tenancy ended on 8th August and by law Romans should have returned my deposit or confirmed deductions by the 18th. Instead they waited until 15 minutes before close of business on 20th August (just before a bank holiday!) to suddenly invent “cleaning charges” and delay my refund. This isn’t the first time, every time Romans owe me money they play the same dirty game: ignore, delay, then make up excuses at the last minute. They hide behind their “complaints process” to buy themselves more time, but tenants like me are left stressed, out of pocket, and struggling to cover rent and bills. I paid for professional cleaning and carpets out of my own pocket, and they still had the audacity to try charging me again. Romans don’t protect customers, they exploit them. If you’re a tenant, think twice before signing with these people.
