Recently completed with Bourne. Absolute delight to deal with throughout the process, Rebecca was my main point of contact and was always professional, responsive and did anything possible to resolve any issues and involve all required parties. 4 Stars is given only in the purpose of improvements can always be made. Having a buyers pack for any properties being sold that includes upfront, all relevant paperwork (EICR, Gas Safety etc.) is one such area of improvement. Though when requested, these were quickly sourced and provided with clear deadlines and expectations set. I couldn't fault the professionalism throughout the process and communication from Rebecca and the team. They even managed to take the tenant in situ under their wing to help speed up the purchase. Rebecca Bray who was our account manager was pro-active and on the few occasions we phoned her for an update rather than her phoning us, she was on to it quickly. The Bourne team who we worked with of Adrian, Rob and Rebecca helped and advised us every step of the way. Our Solicitor who was also very good commented on how responsive Rebecca was if any questions needed answering. Never did we feel like just another client/sale whilst working with them. We are disappointed from the service received, as after moving in we find out that the heating and the electric shower were not checked and they are not working properly, and the shower needs replacement. Very unpleasant to move in and not being able to have a shower. We found also mold around the windows and doors, and washing machine to clean deeply. Not to mention how dirty the flat was left. Luckily, the landlord welcomed us in a nice way, with some effort to clean around for us. Another thing we would mention is the fact we communicated with few agents, almost every step from the application process was completed by a different person and we were waiting until the very last day before the moving day to receive a contract and make a payment, keeping us worried if everything goes alright. This is quite stressful, considering the fact you have to move out from another flat, but have not confirmed exactly when you’ll be able physically to relocate. Overall, I would recommend to the agency detailed checks in properties before moving in, and transparency about all details, and detailed viewing if possible for the potential tenants, to avoid disappointments. Considering individual agents’s service, Sam was very helpful and nice to us. We met him in the office and we can say he did his job great.

We sold our property with Bourne and had excellent advice, great communication and regular updates from Rob at theFarnham office. We also had regular contact with the other members of the team who were well informed about the stage our sale was at, which was a great help if (on the rare occasions) Rob was not available. We had had the property on the market with another agent, who had not had any success. The team at Bourne came in, took entirely new pictures and marketed the property in a different manner, highlighting not only the features we felt were important, but also available home office space for potential clients wanting to move out of the capital. After the property had been on the market for three months and no offers, we went with Bourne and Rob secured a 1st time buyer for us (no chain) at the price we had previously discussed we were aiming for, within about a month. We would not recommend Bourne Estate agents for rentals. We have been badly let down by this company after we paid 6 months rent in advance. The day that we were supposed to collect the keys we met with an independent inventory company at the property. The property was still dirty, loos were filthy, dust everywhere and a ladder fell onto my husbands head that was broken inside the loft. There was no main key for the front door, broken glass outside, items agreed had not been done, carpet moths in one carpet and a terrible smell of damp/cigarette smoke which concerned us as our son has asthma. No deep clean had occurred and despite asking for proof of this (we had been told a deep clean had been carried out) nothing was ever presented. The inventory agent advised that it was not acceptable and would require some work to be carried out. We requested a delay in the contract by a week or so in order to have these items rectified so that we could move into a clean and safe house. 24 hours later the landlord terminated our contract, which we could have fought but felt we were better off stepping away from the this property. There was zero communication from the agents as to why, no apology. This was a property that was being rented for £4000 a month. We are appalled at the lack of consideration given towards tenants. Fortunately we did not need to leave our sold house but this could have been a terrible situation if we had been completing on the same day.

Their used strong negotiation skills to get us a highly competitive sale price and worked tirelessly to ensure both transactions went through as soon as they could. All this in a period that included the uncertainty of lockdown! They helped us bring forward our move dates and remained extremely responsive and helpful even as the country locked down and we lived through huge uncertainty. They made it as stress free as they could and were able to move fast to ensure the deals didn’t fall through enabling to secure our perfect house! I can’t rate them highly enough!

Currently selling our house through Bourne and have been really impressed with their service. They organised the veiwings in groups which was much less stressful than having them scattered through the week. Adrian is really quick to reply to emails and gives regular updates and feedback from the veiwings. I felt that he was honest and gave good advice during negotiations. When we got an offer we received a pdf buyers guide that breaks down week by week what we should expect to be happening so we can follow the progress. The best service compared with other companies that I have delt with.
