We had an excellent experience with Lesley and CHK Mountford Esher. We arrived in Esher for the first time and Lesley met with us and quickly educated us about the area and letting opportunities in our budget. She then showed us properties and provided us with helpful information to consider about each. We ended up renting one property she showed us. Lesley is a delightful person, highly knowledgeable about the area, and earned our trust. We would highly recommend Lesley and CHK Mountford Esher.

Gavin Fleming, Esher Office Manager, was a great ambassador for JDW. As a result of meeting him his team took control of the marketing and promotion of our daughter's property. Andrina Craig found the perfect buyer, someone who already knew the property and who was able to make a good offer which we accepted. I have rented from a large number of letting agents, and CHK Mountford (Esher) was, by-far, my best experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Whenever we contacted CHK we were met with friendly staff who remembered who were we, and dealt with our concerns/queries with open discussion and with a real sense of personal engagement. Through all stages of the tenancy, any queries were sorted quickly and information passed on without delay or error, and usually with a personal touch. The contractors CHK recommended were also brilliant, and did excellent work, which instilled trust. From our first viewing (with the very friendly, Harry) there was brilliant service which continued through all of our check-in/check-out logistics (managed smoothly and clearly by Catherine Harris), and even carried on after we had moved out, to tie up any loose ends. This made a time which can be a highly stressful, a lot easier. Unfortunate that we had to move out of the area so soon!

I rented a property which was managed by this company. The agents made promises they did not meet and the management agents are extremely poor. There was a flood and the information provided by the company turned out to be in accurate so they have refused to reimburse me for the hotel and all costs. I have had to instruct my lawyers to start a court process.

It said, “If you would like to arrange a no-obligation market appraisal, please do not hesitate to get in touch..” I rang the office and made an appointment for the 7th of March. I was clear that I was not putting the house on the market right now.

Avoid at any cost

If I could give zero I will! Awful experience starting from when they gave me the keys and then literally disappeared! Then the inventory was totally different from what I found in the house and when I contacted them they said contact the landlord we can’t do anything! Glad that the landlord was cooperative.Now after leaving the house it took them 10 days to send me the inventory checkout and I called them everyday and they gave a different story every day! Now I have been chasing the deposit for 1 month! Literally awful experience, avoid at any cost.

Buying & selling a house can be a very daunting experience & some estate agents leave people wondering what they got for the fees that they paid for. Not so with J D Wood I can honestly say I chose wisely. From start to finish they were professional, efficient, honest all the way through they told me what to expect & I got it which to me was money well spent. Gavin, Andrina, Carole & Linda did a fabulous job at marketing my house & getting it sold. The photos were great & the video was also a great touch. I would obviously do your homework first as I did, having to choose from 5 Estate Agents in the end but I knew straight away when Gavin visited that I wanted to give my business to him. I would definitely recommend J D Wood they run a really professional service.

RUN AWAY FROM THEM!I have lived in many flats in London and never have I experienced such a terrible process. First of all, we wrote down a formal offer with 1 only requirement. After our offer was accepted and we payed one week worth of rent to secure the place, they tell us that specific requirement cannot be met. They took almost 3 weeks to make the landlord sign our contract, and it was voided TWICE so we had to re-sign the contract 3 times in total as they kept adding clauses to it. During the move in, we realise the flat had not been cleaned (and the contract stated everything had to be professionally cleaned, even curtains and sofas.....) but the flat was in an appalling state really. We asked for it to be cleaned again and we are still waiting..... Not to say that we are still waiting for the landlord to pay the inventory. The people in this agency are very rude and will treat you bad. One advice, never use this agency!!!

Okay at the basics and Andrina does a good job at viewings. 2 star as don’t come across as hungry for the sale or switched on / reading situations. New manager who started in the Summer took 2 months to call us despite saying to my husband and I twice he would call to arrange to come round. We had to switch to another agency and there is a huge difference in energy levels. Hence wouldn’t use again or recommend.

We have been living in a CHK managed property for nearly 6 years. During our stay CHK handled all maintenance and troubleshooting requests in a very professional and generally expedient manner.
