We have been letting through Rettie since buying our property some years ago. Our Portfolio Manager(s) have been very helpful, prompt, efficient and very much on top of their responsibilities. We have no hesitation in recommending Rettie as a letting agent.

Unresponsive and incompetent. We had several issues immediately after moving into our rented flat, including 3 leaks. They had those fixed quick enough, but everything else got delayed for weeks and even months. Kirsty, the property manager, simply stopped answering the phone. Emails were ignored. Even upon leaving, the flat still had issues that remained unfixed, even though we were promised they'd be sorted. The checkout report highlighted “problems” that had been previously recorded at the time of checkin and pinned them on us. Luckily we have proof that they’re wrong. Now the agency is delaying the deposit refund process too - it’s been a month since we moved out and they still haven’t responded to our deposit request. I wouldn't recommend renting a flat through this agency. They are unprofessional, unresponsive, they delay or avoid repairs, and they’ll make sure to delay your deposit refund as long as they can. Just appalling service.

Having checked your checkout report, I note the damages raised were confirmed as having been present at check in and were disregarded. Rettie was honestly a great agency to rent from, especially with all the horror stories about other agencies in Edinburgh. They did not make us pay for anything unnecessarily such as light bulb changes or plumbing issues. They also gave us back our full desposit with absolutely no fuss. Alana Shepherd was our property manager and she did a stellar job! I would highly recommend Rettie.

A heads up for any STUDENTS in Edinburgh is to completely AVOID RETTIE. They falsely advertised a property, took over £2,000 with no receipt, didn't reply for weeks while the staff changed, let us sign contracts, and then a few weeks before the move in date they realised the HMO ran out months ago! Left us with no home a few weeks before term began. A classic example of a company who fails to treat students as equals, and completely neglects the paperwork and the entire process because it feels students won't notice or be able to complain. No compensation or any real apology, which is shocking considering they held our money for a long time after they realised it'd be ILLEGAL for us to live there.

Just completed the handover of an apartment I had been letting in Western Harbour View, Edinburgh and the process proved slick and very straightforward. Victoria was an absolute delight to deal with and demonstrated a genuine friendliness and was reassuringly professional at every contact. Less than a week from handing the keys over I have been informed that my deposit is on its way from LPS which is fantastic service. Thank you Victoria and your team for an excellent experience, I would have no hesitation in recommending you and Rettie & Co to anyone in the future.

They are a mess. I've just come back from "viewing" at East Pilton Farm Crescent (Edinburgh) which was schedulled at 7PM and nobody showed up. There were two other people interested in renting the property so there is no chace that I confused the time of viewing. Additionally it's the third time that someting like this happend to me with "Rettie". A couple of weeks ago they did not show up for the viewing at Hopetoun Crescent. And after the viewing of a flat at St. Vincents Place I phoned them on 3 occasions to provide me one additional information on the flat (it's metric size) so I could conculde the contract. Although firstly they promised to check it, after 2 days they informed me that the flat had been already take. Unfortunately I have to say that they do not respect you and your time.
