House still needing vital repairs after 6 months of waiting, like heating, water Co.ing through door due to large gap, phoned to speak to support as I was sent a letter asking me to, after this wait ti.e, and it saying one minute to wait it went back to another 30 minutes, I am still on hold and have a screen shot I'm happy to post showingwait time so far 90 minutes, with the 30 left to go, is 2 hours to wait satisfactory, no, it's not!Who are you saying has not been informed? Housing officer, the lady who did the contract, area warden, heating team, repairs, many of customer service, BTW some are plain rude, and the surveyor who checks the gardens, they have all been made aware, if there's a single person I've forgotten, please, point me in their direction, but you still haven't even replaced the gas box like you promised when I signed my contract, and if there is anyone who is unaware, maybe if you worked as a team, and passed messages between yourselves I wouldn't have had 6 months of this and still can't have a warm home!I emailed again. No answer.I phoned again to speak to you directly, after a break hold ... 35 minutes got hung up on, same ole thing MG and yeah you are aware

In Radiance House, Cambridge, they've had a plethora of issues date back a decade since it was built, including fire risks, lack of regular fire checks, poor ventilation making the place feel like an oven, mould, damp, floods that are left days and months, unsecure locks and, what's worse, staff who do not care. They sweep these issues under the rug and refuse to listen to the tenants they are failing- whilst continuing to profit off them, of course! Everyone deserves a safe place to live but, unfortunately, Places For People do not think so

What has happened to Places for people?

When I moved in I spent a very large amount of money bringing the flat up to standard, it was in a terrible state holes in the wall smelled of cats the carpet was disgusting, however I liked the look of the flats and how well maintained they were ?.. after about 3 yrs the flats were going down hill fast the grounds are unkept so much so that a number of us set to work making the yard look nice, I was told that the kitchens and bathrooms were going to be up dated, my kitchen has the doors hanging off and they are cracked and broken from the previous tenants ... still no sign 11 yrs later, when I moved in the tenants were all respectable and had pride in their flats I not sure when your policy changed but now! the tenants that have moved in are disgusting leave rubbish every where outside of their flats look like slums goes down well with the i Windows are peeling the plastic seals are hanging down, every where needs repainting, the smell of dope is everywhere!,,,

I’ve been trying for years to get cracks in the wall and damp spots sorted but all they do is take photos and that’s the last I ever hear about it, they did send a surveyor out a year or so back who recommended that it needs to be repointed, but nothing has happened yet. It’s annoying because I need to get the place decorated but no point when the paper keeps peeling off. Apart from that they are amazing.

After a week of backwards and forwards to different members of your staff names as follows Kate Keith Xavier John Adam I’d like to thank them for all their help in getting my boiler sorted as it had its own mind of coming on on its own job still not finished as of today 18th September now need electricon to come out but engineer got my heating done my problem was from arron services was they said they would be here between 9 till 5 and didn’t not even a phone call so wasted 3 days waiting in but as for your staff they were brilliant as I wrote earlier and for an 81 year old with COPD and asthma I was not amused surely the company should phone up and say they are running late sorry my rant is over hopefully thank you

My home, my sanctuary.

Whenever I have to ring pfp for anything they always listen, and then do their upmost to explain anything I am not sure about. If I have a repair booked in, they always turn up and staff are very respectful of my property no matter what they are doing. Clean up after themselves and go that extra mile to get the job done . If I have a problem with my account for any reason the staff are very understanding and always reassure me not to worry they will find a solution to suit all parties. I can honestly say I gave never had a bad experience with them..

I’m new to my property and honestly see trying to get an issue fixed I’ve had no running water in my property this is second time I’ve a baby and a child with dysabiltys and there seems to be no rush sending someone out to sort the issue. When I was a council tenant something like this someone would be out within hours. Tried emailing and calling with no great response. Keep telling me they have 24 hours. So I decided to have a look at others reviews I’m not surprised to see it’s very poor service

They will turn your life into hell

They will turn your life into hell One bedroom flat with paper thin walls they move a family 2 very loud adults and a new born baby crying all the time who don't work and when i make a complaint.Guess what the woman taking the complaint has her dog barking and telling the dog no barking instead of taking my complaint seriously. Is she at home or takes her dog to work that's very unprofessional. She does not know who has moved in because theyrent there flats to a agency now ... I am lost for words i have been attacked by neighbors with mental health problems arrested charged explained to the police the neighbor is trying to kill me. Investigated charges dropped by prosecution fiscal and had to attend social work meeting to let them know what i experienced. Housing officer sends 5 letters of drug dealing in stair contact the police i email housing officer to stop the letters my car has been vandalized twice. Now when i try and discuss this they tell me housing officer has left and they don't keep records of these things. Every time someone moves out the fear of the new people moving in is what my neighbors tell me puts fear into her. I am now having to take these matters to a solicitor and i am being ignored by complaints as i have asked 2 times to discuss this and have had no reply. update ....obviously the email address on places for people website is not being acted upon but you can copy and past on Trust pilot another email address but yet ignore emails from email address you provide to customers. Repetitive poor service.

I reported damp in my house in April 2023, a survey confirmed this. Then nothing, zilch bugger all done. Now some 17 months later after my prompting they are finally moving to resolve the issue. This is life as a tenant of this so called reputational company. I should know, I've been a tenant for about 29 yrs, I like the house and area I live. I don't like the repetitive poor service. It is already been investigated, but let me tell you MG I have been deceived. The lady investigating Jen, customer resolution coordinator was hoping to have her reply by 13th September. She emailed asking for more time to investigate, twice. Then I get an email saying she is going on leave for a week!!! This has been on her desk since 16th August. I was quite prepared to personally deal with this, but not now. I am making enquiries to involve solicitors. I will not be taken for a fool.

Two trips to stop leaking radiators and they still leak!

Since replacing old radiators in my flat which were not fit for purpose I have had 2 call out because 3 of them were leaking, someone from the maintenance team came Friday the 13th to fix the issue, however one radiator is still leaking but it now leaks when the heating is turned off. I CANT GET SOMEONE TO LOOK AT IT UNTIL SEPTEMBER THE 30TH they keep saying just put something under it. WHAT ABOUT YOU FIXING IT PROPERLY SO I DON'T HAVE TO KEEP TAKING TIME OUT TO CALL YOU AFTER 2 VISITS IT SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM. The agent spoke to me like I was 3 years old which can be 😡

I was looking for a flat just for me…

I was looking for a flat just for me and my cat I had applied to a few places some only accept couples although they are not open about that so found myself well down the list. The flat I am in now was advertised and my mum called for me because I was at work. So I had first refusal and here I am. Yes in my case you do have to decorate it yourself but when you consider the benefits it is really worth it. Everyone who works at places for people seem really helpful and any problems with the flat have been sorted out really quickly. Although I acknowledge there are some problems with the outdoor areas just the fencing really overall I am really pleased as a single person to have a lovely flat for rent at a reasonable rent.

Even though a ground floor flat vacant in block next to me don't seem to get any further. What can I do? Have lived here for over 9 years. All help needed please.would like to add what good service I have experienced with repairs and gas servicing.

Shoddiest housing association company…

Shoddiest housing association company ever.Having read through multiple reviews I can see I'm not alone. This company will do all they can to do the bare minimum whilst charging you the absolute maximum for everything.Been without hot water for a week now, had to take 3 days off work to wait on for a repair within 24 hours, every single time the engineer has turned up with no tools, took a look at the boiler, and reset it saying that should work, pointed out this has been done multiple times to no avail, so they respond with call in an emergency repair if it fails to work, and to be told its an expensive boiler and parts need to be ordered. so here I am now having taken my 4th day of work to wait in yet again, and the parts have still not been ordered a week later. I've resorted to boiling pans of water to even attempt to have a bath.I have a toilet cistern that is quite literally hanging of the bathroom wall, still no repair months later.Multiple security doors within the building are broken and won't allow access or egress, massive fire safety issue.Windows that don't close correctly and make winter horrendous whilst having storage heaters that don't store the heat!90 tenants in this building, paying rent and service fees for a sub standard building. Service fees going up every single year with fees like communal water (were not allowed to use) window cleaning (never been cleaned in the 16 years I've been here)And a super intendant that spends his days sitting in his car drinking coffee or standing around the corner smoking cigarettes. They are more concerned with whether you have a door mat (not allowed) or by charging you parking fines when you are parked in a bay with a permit visible. And don't be 1 day late on your rent, even if it falls on a Sunday, as that's the only time your guaranteed to hear from this company, they will threaten you with eviction!I genuinely could go on and on about how defective and deceitful places for people are!

The right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing. Job numbers and repair dates are given but nobody turns up. It took 6 months for door hinges to be replaced in kitchen. Still waiting for action on job numbers issued in April and May. Debris falling from roof supposedly forwarded to roofing company but still nothing done. Trees overgrown blocking out light, nothing done. I do minor repairs myself but there’s a limit to what I can do at 77 years old.

Only do what they need to do once you complain

my recent experience was a complaint, regarding work carried out by a contractor employed by p4p.I was told at the end of the conversation that i would be contacted by the contractor, but i was not. I was also told i would be contacted by the department that look after the housing stock, but once again, no contact. P4P don't do anything unless you escalate it to a complaint, where they have no choice but to do something.

It's been a great experience so far

So far everything is going well and the help I am getting is of a great help. Being of an older generation, where the only thing computerised was a basic hand held calculator, it is difficult for me to communicate through this generation of devices, my fingers are to large and the letters too close together, plus eyesight isn't what it was. So the help I've received has been great for me so far. It is difficult being disabled and trying to remember things that happened so long ago and the people concerned have retired or have passed away themselves so I hope the team remain understanding

No action taken.

I have been living in my basement flat since August 1989. The steps are spiral, steep, made of slate & very slippery when wet. At the end of November '21 I slipped down these steps & injured my head quite badly. I have since then fallen down them again twice. Also a friend has slipped on them. I applied to have the layout of these steps changed to make safe. Planning permission was granted in March of '24. Since then, I have heard nothing from Places for People despite numerous phone calls and emails from myself. Promises are given but absolutely no action taken. If I have another accident on these steps that doesn't result in my death, I shall be taking legal advice regarding their disregard to tenant safety.

7 months without an oven

My parents bought a bungalow with shared ownership in January 2024. The house is dated and needs a new kitchen, the washer and fridge are on there last legs and there was NO oven. 7 months on and my parents are still waiting for plans to be approved so they can have a functioning kitchen. My 79 year old mam is not sleeping and I am seriously worried about her mental health. My mam calls them weekly and I have also called and sent e-mails. However the conversations have fallen on deaf ears. My mam has been told someone will call on numerous occasions but no one ever does and no one replies to the e-mails I have sent. Every time you call you speak to a different person who forwards an e-mail to a different department and then nothing happens. My mam was told by an unsympathetic female, Georgia on Friday that she would have to submit the plans again, for a third time! Why, when they have them and have said they have have them, do they need submitting again? They have had them for over a month now. How long does it take to look at some plans and say yes or a no!? They are supposed to be a caring company looking out for people in the community but this has not been our experience. My mam is usually a very strong lady but this is making her ill. I wish I'd read the reviews before my parents went ahead with the purchase. Think very carefully before buying anything with this company.
