GoogleRented a property from JW Wood and found them to be completely unsatisfactory.
-During a property inspection while our flat was vacant, their staff negligently altered the thermostat resulting in an electric bill exceeding £1,000. We had to beg them to contribute to this bill and were forced to threaten legal action. No apology was received
-Staff conducted an unprofessional check out inspection where they expressed their glee over tiny specs of dirt found in remote corners of the flat. Following the inspection, they wrongfully deducted more than half of our deposit.
-During our deposit dispute, the agency submitted inaccurate evidence to the adjudicator (TDS), using pictures of ANOTHER flat to justify their deposit deductions. We received the majority of our disputed deposit back after lengthy proceedings.
-An entire year after we left the property,
they mistakenly sent an email for the current tenants, disclosing that they were deducting over £700 from their deposit. It was distressing to see that even a whole year later, JW Wood could not even bother to check the names of who they were intending to scam next. Students avoid renting properties with JW Woods. Landlords, if you want to retain an ounce of professionalism, choose another agency.
