GoogleThese people have taken £ 120 this month- without our permission l from our tenant’s rent this month - this was purportedly for a yet to be completed gas safety inspection. They had no right to take this sum but now say it could take a while for it to be reimbursed. ! Why I do not know. ! Don’t touch this company. They are automatons hell bent on making commission with no regard whatsoever for their customers/clientsNegativeProfessionalism

GoogleI have owned a cottage in Southery (near Downham Market) for several years and which I purchased as a rental investment. I have used Abbotts as my Letting Agents throughout this period. As I live over a hundred miles away it is important to have a Letting Agent I can trust. I have always found Abbotts to be very helpful and professional in the service they provide. Recently I have had some new tenants move in and Gemma Cribb at Abbotts has handled that process very efficiently. I am most grateful to Gemma for all the work she undertook and for keeping me informed throughout. Abbotts charges are not the cheapest, but they do provide an excellent service and accordingly I believe those charges are justified.PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

Got some excellent advice from Oliver regarding the roof on a property even though I potentially was selling this property privately to family. The next time I need an Estate Agent, I won't bother with getting any appointments with the other agents as once you've met the best, you ignore the rest...

GoogleAfter seeing what could be a perfect family home for us to rent online, i contacted Abbotts in Downham Market and was promptly put through to a lady call Lisa. What an amazing lady she is. She has made our whole experience effortless from start to finish. Every question has been answered in super quick time and nothing has seemed like too much trouble. I know there has also been times where she has gone above and beyond to help us. She is a true credit to Abbotts, thank you so much.

GoogleI've rented properties from two other agents before and Abbotts, being the third, are by far the worst in all aspects. To begin with the fee's they charge are ludicrous, being way over anything I've ever previously paid and anywhere I've spoken ti since. To give them some credit they did lower them after I complained, but it just goes to show that they really don't have to charge the high fee's - they just hope people will just pay it without asking questions. PLEASE DO NOT PAY THE FIRST APPLICATION FEE THEY QUOTE!!! (No idea how it can cost £400 to print out some documents and show someone around!?) Over the course of my tenancy they were very poor at getting back to me about any issues I had (I've actually been moved out a month now and I'm still waiting for someone to get back to me about how I can put in a formal compalaint, same old story... they don't do what they say they will) - as I've not heard anything I've decided to put reviews online instead to show others the level of service you get with Abbotts. The worst part was when I had a situation where the landlady and letting agent came to my property uninvited demanding to come in. They arranged a days worth of viewings without my knowledge and as I work from home I was able to catch them out! Apparently I had given them the go ahead to do this, which is funny because as I work at home I would never agree to this. They are liars. I have since rented with another letting agent and I have to say the contrast between the 2 companies is clear. The fee's are half the price of Abbotts, the service is great and they are really quick and getting back to you in a timely and friendly manner. All things that Abbotts sadly lack. I would advise anyone thinking of using them to avoid, it will save you a lot of money, time and stress.

GoogleAfter I was let down massively by another agency I was very apprehensive about taking another house. Bryony instantly put me at ease and was very professional. I needed to find somewhere very quickly and she made sure everything went through as smoothly as possible. I was so surprised how fast it happened. I couldn’t be happier with the service and should I ever need to move I will definitely want to use Abbott’s in Downham Market in the future. Thank you again Bryony :)

GoogleAbbotts did a really good job of selling two properties we had in the area. Over many years I've experienced many agents when both buying and selling. To be honest most were ineffective and some useless. In contrast Ian. Ollie and Janet did a great job. Nothing was too much trouble and they kept my wife and I in touch with the sales at all times. You really would not get this service from a well known colourful on-line agent.

GoogleI have no knowledge of the dealings of the rest of the company, either at this location or any other for that matter, so take this with a grain of salt. Our experience was horrendous while working with a specific agent. The different branches of the same company don't work with each other, rather independently of one another. Communications with this agent were both far and few between and lacking in clear information. The agent was never available until she needed anything and answered questions (if at all) very cryptically. We had questions and concerns that we didn't feel were being acknowledged and later found were just being silently addressed, though not to the level/direction that we desired. When we showed up finally for the signing, it could not have been apparent that the agent had other places to be and better things to be doing. We were clearly an inconvenience to her and she could not get out of the property soon enough! You can bet that should we need to let or buy any thing else in the future, it will certainly NOT be with this agent, and likely not with this company either.

I’m sorry you feel you’ve had a such a bad experience with our lettings department. We will take on board your comments and look to be clearer when explaining the process to applicants. I understand from the file that your situation was not a standard one, and so therefore our normal procedures had to be amended in order to fit in with your needs. This is perhaps why you felt your questions were not answered clearly enough. Although we do talk to other branches, you are allocated one branch to look after you, but we do endeavour to help as best we can if a client from a partner branch calls and this is perhaps why other branches did not know the full story of your application. I am saddened to hear that you feel our agent had other places to be on the check in. This is not how we wish to come across and I’m sure the agent involved will work hard to be more welcoming in the future. I do wish you well in your new home. Please do not hesitate to call the branch if you have any more concerns.
