I have been with Martin & Co for over 10 years. They have always been helpful sometimes going beyond the call of duty. I have had no problems with the rent, repairs and the general upkeep of my property.
Thanks for your kind review, it's a pleasure working with you

Delighted with the service. Chris undertook a tricky sale on a leasehold property and did what was required to get the deal over the line. Even though I was one of many many clients I always had direct cpontact with Chris and the team whenever I needed it. Highly recommend.

I've recently started renting with Martin and Co Derby and they've been very helpful on the whole. Kasia has been fast to reply and easy to deal with, sorting out problems in a decent timeframe. Overall good experience!
We are so glad you have had a good experience! Thank you for your review. Martin & Co

I've used Martin & Co Derby since 2008 and I've found that they've always been very professional and friendly. I've had a few tenants over the years, and David and his team have always made the transitions very easy for me. I had to relocate for work so knowing I can email any one of their team and get a quick update or response is very useful, and gives me peace of mind. I recommend you use these guys, and also that you take advantage of being able to contact any of them to follow up on things, it helps a lot.

I have nothing but praise for David and the team at Martin & Co in Derby. All five rooms in our property were let out quickly and efficiently. We are in the process of purchasing another house and will have no hesitation in using them again...
Thank you very much for taking the time to review our service. We look forward to assisting you in growing your property portfolio.

I moved in to my property 5 years ago after being homeless Martin and co have always been helpful to me and my family sorting out any problems I have had as a tenant asap. Over the years there has been times I didnβt think I would be able to stay in my house due to financial problems but David and the team have always been there for me to help much appreciated I personally would never feel the need to let with anyone else brilliant.

LANDLORDS AVOID AT ALL COSTS , these clowns are an utter disgrace to this industry, managed by Ronald McDonald aka David McKnight they have supposedly managed my house for the last 2yrs. You get the usual bull with this lot, phone calls not returned, inspection reports not sent out etc etc but for no extra cost you will have your house returned in a filthy state not fit for human habitation, however Mr McKnight attempted to advertise and re let the property without my knowledge, I was informed by neighbours and the tenant that they were leaving and To Let signs had been placed at the front of the property The final inspection was attended by the man himself, now the tenants had made feeble attempts to make repairs including a splash of paint to cover water damaged ceilings, glueing the towel rail to the wall as it had been pulled off, the house itself reeked of I don't know what, carpets were vile, radiator covers all missing I presume damaged and 16 of the 23 lights had no bulbs and this pillock was prepared to put another family in the house in that state!!. During this final inspection I voiced my concerns to McKnight regarding the state of my house and why nothing was pulled up in the inspections they supposedly did, he hit this out of the ball park ...... I was told that they don't actually look at the property they look for marijuana!! I can only assume he is addicted to the stuff and it's affected his state of mind!! As far as I'm aware the monthly fee was paid as a management fee not for drug searches I'm sure the police do those for free My house was returned to me in a disgusting state by the tenants and the 'management' company Martin and Co,over Christmas it cost me and my young family countless hours and over Β£1500 to put the house back in order. The only positive to come out of this is that David McKnight didn't get the chance to Let that property again As I have to give one one star it goes to Deanna in the office who was always polite and helpful

Complete and utter joke of a letting agent. My Mrs and I moved into a shared house on Kingsway, that was managed by Martin & Co. Upon viewing the property we were told by the agent that we would have our own private garden, that would be fenced off and that the driveway, which looked like The Somme, would be fully tarmacked. This never happened, we never had our private garden nor was the driveway tarmacked. We had a variety of issues whilst being at the said property and despite numerous reports on the app, nothing was done about it. I tried on several occasions to organise a meeting with the director of the company, David McKnight, but he never got back to me, despite numerous phone calls and emails. One of the most pressing issues was that we went for one whole month without hot water in the Summer of 2016, again this was reported numerous times and it was only when I went to the office in person to tell them I would withhold the rent ( We paid Β£510 per month with all bills included) that this was sorted out. My Mrs fell pregnant and we had an issue in the house with one of our housemate's boyfriend who was confrontational and caused a massive issue in the harmony of the household. He threatened and became violent towards our housemate, which caused stress and panic to my pregnant wife, so much so, that we had to call an ambulance out for her. When both myself and our housemate, reported this to Martin & Co, who are supposed to be managing the property, the did not respond at all. This was the final straw as far as I was concerned. When we eventually moved out of the property, it took us over 6 months to get our deposit back because Martin & Co argued that we left the property in a disgusting state and it required cleaning. However, I had photographic and video evidence of the room on the day we moved out and sent this to The DPS, who got back to me today, informing me that my deposit will be repaid into my account in full. According to the DPS, Martin & Co did not send any evidence as to why they withheld my deposit. They tried to withhold the deposit without evidence, which in my book, equates to robbery. Martin & Co in Derby are the most unprofessional and unreliable letting agents I have ever had the displeasure of coming across. They will promise many things but deliver nothing and when you call them out in these things, they accuse you of lying, despite the fact that all the emails they sent me were saved and I showed these to them as evidence. They are an absolute disgrace and I can't understand how they are still allowed to operate. My advice to anyone looking at letting in Derby is to avoid this letting agent like the plague. I only rated this 1 star because it is not possible for me to rate it a minus star. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

The worst customer experience imaginable. The wrong key had been given to me, which did not give me access to the flat on move in date for hours. This was extremely stressful. When I emailed the Managing Director of the company, David McKnight, to explain the situation and convey my dissatisfaction , he quickly covered up for a tumultuous "cock up" on their end of the deal and said to me that the correct key to the front of the flat had simply "fallen off" from the main set of keys. This is hugely irresponsible. And he also had the cheek to say that I was not "too greatly disadvantaged"! To summarize, Martin and Co Derby are incompetent, irresponsible and have poor management. I would not recommend any Tenant or Landlord to use their abysmal services.

VIEWING was nice and easy. Looked online and called in to see if my friend and I can arrange a viewing as soon with it being the start of summer holiday season. In only a couple of hours we got a reply and a call to arrange immediately. We had not had a car, so the agency picked us up from the rail station. Too kind. The guy Ollie knows his stuff well, showed us a few houses, gave very good explanations and provided with superb logistics of the city when we move in. We LOVED it and signed up as soon we got back to the office. POST MOVE IN. All of us found it real easy to use the online system, even though some information needs changing and updated, agency Holly called us or emailed us very promptly to correct them. We all sorted our move in dates no problem. MOVE IN DAY. Packed and house move can be stressful. Holly made it easy, she call me in advance to the meeting time to make sure I got in Derby okay. Then once I arrived, offered my a cup of tea to relax and sign the final papers. The paper was long but she was patient. Next i had to gather the right info to prove my deposit had went through, even though the system was not showing so, Holly called in the Martin&Co accountant to double check and all that. Finally the agency people, three of them pointed me the right direction to get my parking permit from the counsel. Keys collected, permit bought, house moved! Thank you guys! Now just waiting for some last bit of furniture to arrive from you guys and we're all super happy. Love the house, would sure come back to you again if I am relocated back in Derby in the future. Appalling customer service. You'll probably do better with any other agent in Derby. I was a tenant at one of their houses. From the very beginning, it's been an awful experience. It was a late start to the initial house visit because the agent didn't bring the right keys with him. He couldn't answer questions regarding the house nor the contract. When I went to their office to sign the contract, they weren't fully prepared with all the documents. There were also so many hidden expenses which was frustrating. Luckily, I had a fantastic landlord, whom I dealt with directly for the next few months. Finally, when it came to moving houses, it took Martin & Co nearly three months to get my deposit back to me! I had to keep calling them to remind them about it, as it didn't feel like it was a priority to them. A shocking experience! They came across as very lackadaisical and unprofessional. I have dealt with a number of agents in the past. Martin & Co were undoubtedly the worst in terms of customer service!

ABSOLUTE DISGRACE !! For 3 years this letting agency has moved in troublesome neighbors next door for us. Music all day every day, children bouncing off the walls, the adults having full blown rows constantly in the garden. The local drunks use this house as a pub and yet MARTIN & Co do NOTHING !! Happy to receive there payments each month with no regard for the filth there placing beside people. We asked for the landlady's number as she the owner of the property, no they cant do that. Why is that ? The landlord/Lady have a right to know what goes on in the house they allow the letting agents to let out right ? I have video evidence, i have voice recordings, time and date stamped. Local Councillor has been notified as have the environmental health department. Regards

Tenants, please do not use them. Theyβre scams and tried to defraud me of Β£400 deposit in 2019. Luckily DPS were supportive and helpful, and got my money back. They are also very bad communicators, specifically if you report a fault. I had complained multiple times on a certain issue from the start of my tenancy and instead of fixing it, they tried to charge me for it (a fault not from me) at the end of my tenancy. My other flatmates had multiple issues with the letting agency also.
Hello Sarah. It is difficult to respond to your comments given that it was over 2 years since you interacted with us as a business. However, we welcome feedback and I would be happy to talk it through with you directly. Thanks, Chris (Branch Manager)

I moved into a HMO with Martin and Co a couple of years ago. It was a really stressful experience which lead me to ask for my room to be re-marketed after several months. I have never had any issues renting elsewhere. I took the room under the premise there was secure parking. However there were more cars than spaces and after being unable to park my car securely most of the time, one day I woke up to find my car had been keyed all the way round causing Β£1600 worth of damage. It was a rough area. My bedroom was downstairs and the upstairs room above me wooden floored. The tenant in the room above me would frequently got out till late night mid week and come home drunk with friends keeping me awake till 3am. I start work at 6am. Ear plugs werenβt enough. I was constantly stressed and tired. After explaining all this to M C they had zero sympathy. Telling me I was using this a leverage to get out the property early. They made me feel like I was a problem and the relationship deteriorated quickly. They charged me a fee of something in the region of Β£140 to re-market the property. Within a week they accepted the first tenant who came to view even though they didnβt want to move in until the day my tenancy was due to end. I explained my situation to the manager who was really insensitive and obnoxious. This was the first time Iβve dealt with customer service style like this and hopefully the last. So bad was my experience I ended up moving out 4 months early while continuing to pay rent. I was vacant from the room for 4 months paying full rent to the cost of thousands of pounds and they couldnβt even let something so petty as a blown lightbulb go, threatening to withhold my deposit as a result. Thankfully Iβm buying my own house next year. Tenants think twice.
Hi Kevin, thank you for your review. Whilst some of those factors are outside of our control, we are continually looking to improve on service levels to ensure clients get the best experience when renting properties. Martin&Co

My overall experience with Martin & co was good when getting my tenancy. The communication was good from Libby Mellors especially because of my tight time frame. The process of picking up my keys to move in was made smooth by Rebekah Andrews. And overall the team tried their best to help me out and answer any questions I had. Science moving their response has been the same and they have been proactive with settling any issues I put on the tenancy page. Well done guys, really appreciate it.
Hi Toochi, we are glad we could find you your next home! Thanks for the review. Martin & Co

I'm extremely and pleasantly surprised at how proficient, friendly and professional my experience has been with Martin & Co. Having dealt with quite a few other estate agencies over the last few months, Martin & Co have no doubt been the best with regards to helpfulness and their family ethics has definitely been brought to the for front. Always friendly, extremely polite, going the extra mile is what Martin & Co is all about and undoubtly the best agency I've had the honour to deal with. I will recommend using them to anyone and everyone. Fantastic.
Thank you so much for your review.

M&C were recommended to me through a neighbour and sourced me a tenant in 3 weeks. Everything went smoothly with the process and any questions were answered quickly and promptly. Both David and April on the team were particularly helpful in my never ending questions - thanks. One or two mis-communications with timings of booking and viewings, but nothing major, otherwise would be a 5* rating. I decided on M&C because out of all the letting agents that offered to take on my property as a fully managed service, M&C were the most flexible in terms of negotiating with the tenant and getting the best fit for me and my individual circumstances.
