If you are using Fenn Wright as a letting agent be very careful. They are LITERALLY the worst agent we have used. We left the house over a month ago and we have still not been told about the return of our deposit or the deductions. I received an email from them today saying that we had not had the property cleaned etc and that there was a cracked tile behind the toilet and that we had let the garden over grow. Also that we had made some holes in the bathroom wall (the landlord had done this. We hadn’t touched the wall). They also sent us a photo of a window that had gone rotten. When we moved in the landlord refused to tidy the garden we had to spend £400 to get it sorted out. We repainted inside the house. We even had a rotten door with a huge whole in that the landlord refused to repair and we had to fix to stop the wildlife coming in. Apparently we opened the door and had to deal with the consequences! When we left we got professional cleaners throughout the house, cleaned the carpet and had the oven cleaned professionally. Because there was a bit of dirt on the floor (when the removal people moved the fridge) they said that we had obviously not got in professional cleaners. The cleaners we used ensured that everything was clean before we left. Honestly they are a joke. This is the fith house we have rented and by far the worst agents. They also charge £30 per person admin when you need a reference from them. They also send someone around every three months who tell you to clean the cooker, move a box etc. I couldn’t read the reports as they made me feel like I was living with my parents. Honestly would have been cheaper to have done that.

I bought a house through Fenn Wright. Throughout the process they were helpful and efficient. Kirsty in particular was excellent. I cannot thank her enough. If she hadn't been chasing the other solcitors and estate agents in the chain every day then I would have lost the house I was trying to buy. She kept me updated and seemed to know more about the house I was selling then the estate agents dealing with my sale. I will definitely use Fenn Wright if I ever need to sell my house in the future.

Excellent, Efficient and Friendly Service

As a buyer moving into the area from a long distance away, and having only one day to find a home, Fenn Wright were phenomenal in their flexibility, arranging and rearranging visits at short notice. They were careful to qualify us as motivated buyers, which should reassure would be sellers, and efficient in passing offer and counter offer back and forth. The buying process was made painless by Kirsty King's regular interventions, which ensured that information flow was timely and accurate and enabled us to address a couple of regulatory issues somewhat faster than would otherwise be the case. We are very happy with our experience as buyers, both on the day of viewings and during the ensuing process, which led to a successful conclusion.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST

I deeply regret taking on the services of Fenn Wright Colchester to manage my rental property.They have failed miserably at vetting the tenants, paying the rent to my account, and replying to the dozens of emails and telephone calls I have had to make chasing them up.It would have been SO much less work to manage the property myself. If you are considering usong them, wether as a landlord or tenant DON'T.You will regret it on a daily basis.

Absolutely ridiculous excuse for estate agents. Unhelpful and uneducated. Had to take half a day off work, when moving in, to show the Lettings team where an address was on a bank statement...despite numerous email correspondence to advise them. During our tenancy we were harassed by debt collectors from 6am-8pm most days from the previous tenant - Fenn Wright did not want to know. Moving out, the property was left immaculate and freshly decorated to a high standard, yet they hit us with threats of charges left right and centre, if you do not provide receipts for everything to be professionally cleaned, despite it was vile and disgusting when we moved in. - £100 +VAT for carpets to be steamed (after I had done it...so for a receipt) - £250 for an inventory to state there are light bulbs in the unfurnished property - £60 admin +VAT for any other questions/maintenance etc Would not recommend them to my worst enemy. For a full time, young hard worker I did not expect this grief and disrespect whilst moving. On the plus side, the accounts team are kind and honest, refunding every penny back to me that they OVER CHARGED me for...unfortunately this did not include any of the list above.

Rude manager

I was appalled by the rude aggressive manager at the Colchester High St branch. As I walked up to meet him he demanded in a very loud voice " I'm here don't you walk past me!" then proceeded to tell me off for going up the steps. As I took a seat to wait he then started shouting from his desk at me demanding repeatedly to know what I said to the other member of staff. Not an experience I would ever want to repeat.
