Avoid like plague, these crooks are modern days racketeers. Needless to say that while renting with them wasn’t the best experience ever, I requested a few works like a faulty heater and door handles for them to call me back literally months later to say they’re sorry their maintenance man let them down and they forgot about the issue.Later I’ve lost my job and we had no move out, when telling them about it they first tried to make me pay an astonishing amount of money for an early release. We negociated that and agreed I would pay £1000 fine only to be released from the contract and they assured me no further payments will be requested from us. When we moved out we have cleaned the flat throughout and made sure it’s left spotless.Now they are harassing us and keep requesting further payments from us because apparently the have don another cleaning of the flat. THEY ARE THREATENING TO DESTROY OUR CREDIT SCORE IF WE DON’T PAY THEM THE MONEY THEY WANT.Look, It is a perfectly normal thing for a property to need a quick refresh after tenants have moved out but since when that charge was meant to be put on the tenants? Admit the landlord decided to redecorate the flat once we moved out now are we supposed to be liable for that also? What kind of racketeering is that?I feel utterly disgusted by Fenn Wright’s behavior and practices.JUST STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

Outstanding Service

We recently sold another property through Fenn Wright Colchester and yet again they went above and beyond what they really needed to do for us. Not only did they take the unprecedented situation of Covid-19 in their stride as a company they never once let it affect their ability to provide us with an outstanding service. Our situation was made more difficult due to issues with our buyers but again this didn't phase the team at Fenn Wrights they were on the ball and giving the issues 100% attention and getting resolutions or constantly chasing until they got a resolution they were happy with and never left us waiting for communications from them. The whole team was yet again brilliant.

Unfair contract terms are placed in tenancy agreements, get a solicitor to check through prior to agreeing any tenancy agreement. You will be locked in for 12 months with no break clause and if you want to break early they will charge you over £1,000 plus VAT to break the agreement (which I assume is literally made up as it's noted nowhere within the tenancy agreement) and that you have to continue paying rent on top of this extortionate fee. Will never use again.

Old school Estate Agents - by that I mean back in the days when they didn't have to tell the truth. If you're buying from them, carefully check all the details of the house in question. You'll notice loads of paragraphs of disclaimers at the end of the description! Basically what they say is "These are the details of the property, but don't take our word for it". TRY TO AVOID DEALING WITH A NUMPTY CALLED TOM!! Not the sharpest tool in the box!

I have a long history of renting properties in London, five exactly, and never experienced such a bad customer service on the tenant side. They were very communicative when it came to us signing the contract of course, but afterwards they have been very unhelpful despite managing the property. We are renting a big family house, a really great house, expensive of course, with all the appliances. From day 1, the washing machine was not working. The landlady told us she has advised Fenn Wright about it before we moved in. They do nothing about it. They called a monday morning to say a technician would come at 10am that same morning. Of course we were both at work! Now they told us it will be at the end of the month. So we have a full month with NO washing machine in an expensive big house. They tell us to go to the laundrymat. They do nothing about it. Awful service The kids are all coming back and going on different camps. We can’t wash their clothes I am travelling to London a lot for work while opening boxes in my new house. The last thing i want to do is carrying the family laundry around to laundrymat like a student. We will be buying a house in Colchester in the near future and we will make sure not to use them, it has really put us off to be mistreated like that.
