Curchods are a multi award winning estate agents, winners of the award for 'Surrey's Best Estate Agent (4+ offices category) for the last 3 years running - as voted for by the public in the 2014 Surrey Property Awards. Specialising in Residential Sales, Lettings, Mortgages and Land & New Homes. Cobham is headed up by manager Neil Morgan, a long established agent. Neil and his team have a vast experience in property which spans some 60 years. The office was set up nearly 30 years ago and is one of the oldest agencies in the village still under the same ownership. The attention to detail which we pay, means that our clients have the ultimate in customer service and as a result of this our clients regularly return to use us again and again, most of whom are happy to recommend us to friends and family. GoogleWe recently sold our property through Curchods Cobham and were extremely impressed by the team and the service they provided from start to finish. In particular Jemima Hogg, who managed our sale, was brilliant; she was extremely personable and her communication was excellent throughout, ensuring we were consistently updated with how viewings and the sale were progressing. Her knowledge and expertise of the local market and selling process was evident, meaning we could go to her with any question, however small, and always receive accurate and useful answers/advice in a timely manner. We would highly recommend Curchods Cobham and Jemima to anyone in the local area looking to sell; they made what can be a long and stressful process very efficient and easy.

She worked tirelessly to hold the whole chain together and to make our sale and purchase happen despite numerous problems, from parties threatening to pull out, to non-responsive and generally poor lawyers, other parties and their representatives. GoogleI was a buyer, and one of their staff misled me by saying my reserve deposit would count toward the final price. In the end, I lost my £6.7k deposit because I only found out at the end that the reserve price is actually on top of the final price. By then, it was too late to cancel without losing the money anyway. Which auction house charges both the buyer and seller? I wouldn’t recommend them as a buyer. I have no experience as a seller, but based on this, I’d never use them again.
Hi Adam, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that you feel disappointed with your experience. However, we do feel it’s important to clarify a few points for transparency. The reservation fee structure is clearly outlined in several places throughout the process: - On the original property advert - Within the full Terms & Conditions, which are agreed to when a buyer registers to bid online - On the Reservation Form issued signed and shared with all parties including the buyers solicitors after a bid is accepted In each of these documents it states that the reservation fee is payable in addition to the purchase price, rather than forming part of it. Our model is the Modern Method of Auction, which operates differently to a traditional purchase. The reservation fee secures the property and grants the exclusivity period to exchange contracts. As with all auction-style transactions, the fee is non-refundable once agreed, unless specific contractual conditions apply. We would also like to clarify that Bid does not charge the seller a fee in these transactions. Our fee is paid solely by the buyer via the reservation agreement. The local estate agent may charge the seller for the marketing of their property. We’re always happy to discuss any concerns directly and review communications if there is a belief something was unclear. Transparency is extremely important to us, and we work hard to ensure buyers fully understand the process before committing and I hope that is clear from other positive experiences reviewed here. GoogleTOTALLY PROFESSIONAL staff did a wonderful job selling the house of our much loved Aunt whilst we waited for probate. Good advice all the way and really knew their market. Even Kate the Manager was always on the end of a phone (or Keyboard) to answer any questions and if she or her staff didn't know the answer, they got on the phone and found out. So a huge thanks to all the staff, Frankie, John and the background staff that make things happen quietly in the background.

GoogleWe’ve owned in Cobham most of the last 32 years, and whilst we’ve had spells overseas, Cobham, and our cottage, have been home for a long time. So deciding to sell was a really big step. There are a number of good well established Agents on the high street, but what really distinguished Curchods was their commitment to follow through on what they said; their understanding of the market; and having decided to sell ‘off market’ they really did have the contacts and network of buyer interest to be able to make the sale happen. Curchods have been in Cobham a long time, they were patient, understanding, and very professional…and Jemima Hogg particularly was super supportive and worked hard for us (and the buyer) to keep the sale moving to Completion. We’ve closed a chapter, and there’s much we’ll miss about Cobham, but we move on with great memories, and truly grateful to Curchods for making the whole selling process a smooth one. Thankyou.
