GoogleThe purchase of our property wouldn't have gone ahead without the continued help and persistence from the Darlows team in Canton. The communication between solicitors completely broken down and the sale almost fell through. Joanne and Neil are the only reason why the purchase went through and we are so happy that it finally did :)

I first started speaking with Nicole from the Merthyr branch of Darlows approximately 6-8 months ago with a view to buying a property and letting it out. Due to the pandemic and restictions, it has took much longer than I had hoped to secure a property, but I have been really grateful of the initial advice Nicole provided me with, and the advice given in relation to properties I have been considering, despite her knowing that I didnt have instant business to give to Darlows. I have found her to provide excellent customer service and she has been amazing in her efficiency and quick responses. I have every confidence in her and look forward to her managing my property.

I moved into a two bed townhouse in Cardiff with my sister back in November 2019, advertised as "professionals only".Prior to moving in, there had been a one month gap between tenants and I had negotiated in writing that the house would be professionally cleaned (outgoing tenant had three children) and that three of the rooms be re-painted.We arrived to a front garden stacked high with black bin bags which had clearly been there a month, and the windows were practically black.Upon entering the house, it was clear that NOTHING had been cleaned. The toilet was black, the cooker was covered in grease and the carpets were stained.To make matters worse, the previous tenant had not removed any of their belongings. Every draw was crammed with paperwork, wires and clothing. Baring in mind this was supposed to be a furnished property; both beds were broken beyond use, and the mattresses were absolutely revolting.The oven doesn't work, and when we first arrived, it was propped up on a wooden block which is a fire safety issue. Oh and the front door does not comply to the security standards set out with the insurer that they insist you go with.6 MONTHS ON, they finally removed the rubbish from the front garden after I put in a formal complaint.1 YEAR ON, I had to arrange for excess furniture and rubbish removal myself and deduct it from the rent.My formal complaint has been "lost" and no one ever replies to any email or phone call.NEVER AGAIN.

After little success, Vicky personally took on my complaint and within a week, took care of every single thing, keeping us updated every step of the way. Appalling service!I booked a viewing and travelled over an hour to view the property only to get a phone as I arrived that they had to cancel the house had sold!Did it sale that minute?Surely any viewings booked for that day would go ahead and the viewer made aware there had been an offer?

Do not use Darlows to manage your property! They do not answer the phone, return voice messages or respond to emails. Our property has been left with a rainwater leak which has effected the electrics since July. We were not informed of the leak and no one has been sent to repair as it was "not a priority" We have been trying to contact them for over a week but no response to any of our emails and no one has returned our calls. Appauling service.

Very poor customer service. In my experience they only cared about our landlord and not I “tenant”. Before we moved into the house we were assured by Darlows that the landlord would fix everything that needed fixing in the house which included the damping. After moving in we discovered a lot of other things were faulty. This included the boiler, window and door locks not working. When I tried to get in touch with Darlows they respond a couple of times and when they finally did all the said was they weren’t liable and that we would have to talk to the landlord about it. Every time the landlord needed them to give me and information they would never fail to do that but they neglected our complaints. I wouldn’t recommend and I won’t never rent or buy a property through them ever again.

Happened now the second time in a row that we were booked in to view a house and we were let down by the agents. First time the agent did not show up and multiple members of the team lied to us this was the Cardiff branch, they stated that the agent is on the way while it turned out there was no booking at all and we waited for no one to come out for 20 minutes. The second time they have failed to notify us in time about that they cannot get access to the property to show it to us. This resulted in us taking half-day off from work for absolutely no reason. Needless to say, I cannot recommend the company at all and very happy that we did not sell our house through them and won't be buying anything that is being sold through Darlows. Big let down. Would have given 0 scores if I could for the unprofessional work. Also, that is not an excuse for no communication between team members that some work from home. Writing an email and paying attention should be the minimum skill for being able to work for a company like that.
