They don't complete what they say they will complete and when they will complete it. I am disappointed with myself that I didn't just complete the process myself to find a tenant - It would have been less stressful than trying to manage the agents and filter through what information is actually truthful and correct.

As a rule I do not normally do reviews: although in this case I’ll make an exception:Allen&Harris have been absolutely amazing after taking over as sole Agents the sale of my home I cannot not praise them enough From the time they picked up the baton from a wasteful fourteen weeks with a another agent “in days Allen&Harris had their sign for Sale up outside the door”, another couple of days passed and the photographer was at the house taking photos very professionally accomplished I cannot praise the whole team enough from Vicky’ who was at the helm and Melonie’ sales administrator and other team members the whole operation was as smooth as silkI was also introduced to a solicitor who handled my affairs on the conveyancing side with swiftness and professionalism taking a lot of the usual pressures out of my hands Every step of the sale was impressive keeping me notified every step of the way even notifying me of scheduled appointments to the house of interested viewers: not unusual you may think however they have the keys am I am on holiday. Further communication can be had via their Website whereby your able to keep up with up to date statusDon’t do the same as me and waste fourteen weeks choose “Allen&Harris”.

If I could leave a zero I would. As a tenant I have had the worst experience with this company. No communication whatsoever. Arrived to my new home to discover a bulging ceiling from leak, condemned Boole so no heating during December, the property had not been cleaned so was foul smelling and the drain was severely blocked. I’ve reported all this to them and they still haven’t fixed the drain which has now resulted in the property flooding and causing damage to my appliances and wooden furniture. Phoned on Saturday morning as soon as I was able and was fobbed off. I have had no one to contact and been sat in my damp house with the squelching carpets and kitchen flooor all this for £800 a month. Bloody joke

If i could i would leave zero star.They misled me, at the first meeting and valuation, promised things but didn't deliver, they encouraged me to accept the first offer as buyers were cash buyers, this turned out it was not the case.The deal fell through when allegedly my buyers buyers pulled out, two weeks before the moving date. Most untrustworthy agents I've ever dealt with, I'm disabled,with several chronic illnesses, the whole experience made me very ill, from August 2022 to date 8th Jan 2923 I'm still in my home surrounded by boxes packed up to move.ZERO STARS FROM ME

GoogleWe dealt mainly with Bethan and had such an easy experience. She fitted the viewing and move in date around us. She answered all of our questions and understood our situation. We managed to move in quickly, seamlessly and with everything we need to get started in our new home. Everyone we spoke to on the phone, email or in the branch were helpful and very polite. First time buyer so definitely lacking in experience when shown around the property I was interested in August. When I went to view the property I got a very lack luster response from the employee showing me around. I went ahead and made an offer at asking price on the property I was informed another party was interested and it went to best and final. My offer on a property was accepted. On rightmove it never said sold stc and as I started the process of giving my information etc and paying for searches. I learned about two weeks later that even after my offer had been accepted the previous person that had placed an offer also had placed a higher offer but that the owners were sticking with me. I started getting worried and was trying to move the process ahead to buy the property best I could. A month of so into the process Allen and Harris contacted me again to say that the owner was no longer going with my offer and yet again the other bidder had increased there offer. They asked if I was willing to go higher and I stated I was at the top of my budget as is. They than went ahead with this other party. This week in November I received a call to say the property was back up for sale. I quickly said I was not interested and buying a different property. I thought from start to finish with them they where very unprofessional and the specific employee I dealt with was not particularly interested in dealing with me and wanted a better price on the property probably for her own benefit.

Absolutely abysmal service. Have been trying to get my tenancy deposit returned since early October. Been sent round the houses, calling offices in Newport and Newcastle with no joy. No answer from the Lettings dept so have to call Sales. Both advisor and office manager not prepared to listen to my concerns, instead resort to talking over me and then have the audacity to call me abusive. Requested complaints info, have called but no answer. This is MY money they are holding on to. I can't get it back

I called to enquire about a property to rent. The female staff on other end asked how much i was earning annually & i mentioned i was working p.time & would recieve UC support to pay the remainder but she said i dont qualify to have a viewing. Even though i have a checkable 13yr ref. from my present landlord ISNT THIS DISCRIMINATION.??!!!

GoogleAmy Garrod has done an excellent job helping with the refurbishment of my flat and then marketing it. This was a huge task involving re-roofing, replacing windows, recarpeting, repainting, installing a new front door to be compliant with fire safety regulations and dealing with electrics. She's really gone the extra mile and I would fully recommend both Amy and her colleagues at Allen & Harris.

Where do I start? What an unprofessional shower the westbury office are! It started with them booking the wrong photographer for listing the property (wrong camera so we had to go through 2 photography sessions). Branch and assistant managers turning up late for viewings. Turned branch manager away as he turned up half way through me showing a purchaser the house, so I thought no point in him being there half way through. Potential buyers not vetted properly or checks in place to make sure they already had a mortgage in principle from a lender. I’m sure they just let anyone with a pulse view the property. Last insult was 2 offers received and not one was negotiated to nearer the property asking price. Why appoint a “negotiator” if they can’t negotiate. Total waste of time appointing this company in my view!

sold my house through allen and harris. intial estimate was higher than anyone else's, it should have rung alarm bells. I went with them but after two months no offers so had to drastically reduce the price. Once the sale was agreed they only seemed interested in the buyer. Had a weeks notice to move out as they were bending over backwards for the buyer. All in all a very miserable experience that left me feelinh ripped off and used

Booked a viewing for a property we were interested in buying which was promptly canceled without a call to explain why, but my wife and I have had multiple calls every day for two weeks pestering us to sell with them. Bordering on harassment if I'm honest. I've asked them to remove our contact details from their database, but the calls continue. Contact Rettie instead, they're good people. These guys appear to be so desperate for business, quite the red flag

7 months. 7 months we have been in a chain with a property being marketed by Allen and Harris. Twice they have failed to complete due diligence on buyers. Twice their in-house mortgage broker has lied about mortgage offers for buyers when underwriters have turned them down. I wish I had known that their business practices were so appalling I would have rejected an offer on the basis that they were representatives of someone in the chain.

Desperately trying to rent a property, took our holding fee (1 weeks rent) then demanded paperwork unspecified at the initial viewing a week earlier , on trying to collect this for them was waiting for a letter to arrive from HMRC , informed them of this and then had them turn around and decline our rental of the property despite us paying a weeks rent in advance which should have covered the period where we were gathering the correct paperwork. Was told “the landlord cannot wait even a day otherwise he won’t be able to pay his mortgages” and that our deposit was non refundable. So they took our money, and left us out in the cold. At every turn in the week leading up to renting the property there was more issues including online paperwork/referencing accounts not working, they lied and said they were trying to ring my fellow housemate (no missed calls recorded) and that due to this incompleted paperwork that we were the ones at fault despite not mentioning any of this at the viewing. We weren’t the first and we won’t be the last. The rental situation is disgusting in this country, your paying for someone to put a custom number plate on their Range Rover while you slave away at an hourly rate job to live in damp and broken accommodation, they take multiple mortgages out and then depend on the yield from others to pay them whilst they do nothing more than the absolute bare minimum to “maintain” properties. Since the agency fees are now gone I can only assume taking a percentage of our first weeks rent holding fee is how the agents get their commission. Add to that the highest rents have ever been since 2008, and an over-saturation of student housing in major cities the situation for young working professionals is unbearable. To then be told nearly thee hundred pounds of your hard earned money is gone in a flash with smoke and mirrors is simply shattering, unfortunately I’m not alone in this.

I would honestly give 0 stars if it was an option. Incredibly unprofessional estate agents. Avoid at all costs, very rude staff, terrible lack of communication, sketchy, and greedy! They Pressure you into using their services, and if you don’t they will deliberately mess you and tell you your offer is not good enough…even tho it is, it was very frustrating to deal with these people. They are messing with peoples lives here, I feel like they’re all scammers and doing something incredibly illegalSarah was completely rude and messed us around. She is completely unprofessional. This estate agents should be shut down. Please avoid at all costs, they only care about commission, they do not have anyone else’s best interests.

GoogleI viewed a property with Allen and Harris, prior to the meeting I asked specific questions regarding the property such as rental value. at the meeting the gentleman did not have any idea of who i was, the type of purchasing I was or any answers to the questions I had asked them to find out. Dissapointed already at this stage. I then asked for guidance on an acceptable offer as I am already purchasing a similair property on a road over. The gentleman I dealt with became irate 'do not speak over me, if you cannot offer asking price or over it will not be considered'. Whislt you cannot give an exact figure, I know you can offer your proffesional guidance as it is your client. Rude and no due-diligence was done. Not a positive experiance.
