FacebookWe have just received a phone call cancelling our viewing. I think it is disgraceful behaviour to cancel a viewing on the day. We have driven four hours, a round trip of 160 miles, in appalling weather just to view this house. So a significant cost in both fuel and time. When I arranged the viewing with them I did actually comment on definitely being able to view it.
Clearly the vendors have no honour, and I think the agent has advised them very poorly.

We always try to give anyone who has a booked viewing with us as much notice as possible when cancelling, but this is not always possible, due to the speed that the property market moves at.

TrustpilotBrackley Sales - DON'T TRUST THE MARKETING
My case is in the process of going through the Property Ombudsman after spending £1.5k on a property which was marketed and sold with no-onward chain, yet after paying ALL of my fees for conveyancing, survey, mortgage and searches, Alexander and Co tell me that I was in a chain. Given we were reliant on the property having no onward chain and having a 7 month pregnant partner with no home, I find it utterly disgraceful to be treated this way when they had suspicions about the vendor from the start! Do not base your purchase decisions and spend money on what they stated have on their marketing!

Alexander & Co. managed student properties for me for 2 years and did a reasonable job with the tenants. I decided they knew insufficient contract and tenancy law, and their bookkeeping was rather sloppy, so gave them notice I was terminating our contract. They took over £3,000 from my rents as a "termination charge". I took legal action and nine months later, the court ordered they repay it to me, plus interest and costs. READ THEIR CONTRACT TERMS CAREFULLY. Having hired them you cannot fire them without almost an extra year's charges, unless you have terminated the tenancy, (Clause 20). Although tenancy was terminated, they took the charge anyway, (in violation of the contract), because they objected to some previous tenants re-renting directly from me. No other agent has ever taken unauthorised money from my rents or objected to me ending a contract. Hire a trusthworthy agent.

Awful treatment as a tenant. I ultimately had to move out of a property due to mold and damp and had no support, in fact the opposite from A&Co. They are continuing to enable a landlord providing poor accomodation. Rude, sarcastic staff. Just terrible.
