Goadsby let anyone have free access to your home!

I completed my property on 22nd Feb 2022 in Bridport Dorset. On 21st they phoned me to as they wanted keys. I said they had 2 keys handed when I asked them to sell my property. They claimed I had signed them out. I knew I had not. They said they had my signature signing them out. I went to the shop. It was not my signature nothing like . They then claimed I had authorised said signatures person to pick keys up for me. Which I had not! Worrying thing is they had released my keys with address in November. I am an elderly lady living alone! I hadn’t realised someone had access to my home! I said they should pay to replace locks at their expense ! They totally refused.

Wastage of time.

Wasted My time in the name of referencing. If some one is living in UK on a permanent job role and also home office gives a right to rent. Still most of the letting agents doesn’t gets satisfied. If a person have good credit history then what’s the problem. Or it’s only because I am an Asian and cannot get a property to rent.

We initially enquired about a property up for rent and they said they would get back to us. They never did and then they told us after having to call them back the property was already taken, despite us knowing full well they booked viewings for said property the next week as we knew the current tenants. We called again and got a different advisor and they were very kind and helped us submit the required documents and legal information. However we waited a week and didn't hear anything back again, called in ourselves again and got told the property was taken. Not great service. Initial offers were not passed on to vendors, which I now know should have been. Goadsby Not prepared to disclose details of chain, when I asked at viewing, the only estate agency I met to take this stance during viewings. Trying to say I had agreed to completion dates when I had not. Not told there is a halfway house next door, which should have been disclosed. I received vendors email address in an email chain which is against GDPR. Very cold reception when I picked up keys. Absolutely appalling

We are stuck in a six link chain; four of which are with goadsbys. They lie, they won’t talk to you, they don’t have a clue how to progress things and are having to take direction from the other agent in the chain, they are rude and so unhelpful. Five months we’ve been waiting; delay after delay, lie after lie. It’s like walking uphill through quick sand.

Worst letting agents ever

Goadsby is the worst in terms of the way they treat people. The whole trauma they subject me to is beyond words, and I won't go the details of it. Let's just say that it lasted a whole 8 months of endless communication with them getting them to allow me to terminate my contract, return my deposit etc etc. And in all these communications, they were distasteful, disrespectful, offensive, unprofessional. So much that they even accidentally copied me on email replies amongst other colleagues where they were being spiteful, even condescending about me. Avoid them!

Let down lettings

I had a really bad experience with Carol from the Eastleigh estate agents. She cancelled our viewing 2 hours before when she had plenty of time to give us more notice, she had no idea what was going on and gave the impression she couldn’t care less and I could of booked somewhere else and not wasted my time. She didn’t even sound bothered on the phone. Very unprofessional service and I will not be using again!

We saw a fantastic estate agent called Richard Wellington. He has been the most accommodating and one of the most professional estate agents I have come across, from always being early at appointments to following up promptly without being overly aggressive, and I feel he went out of his way to try to find the right home for us, as it happens we found a property we loved that was on with a different agent but when I called to inform Richard we had found something else he wished us well and offered any further advice or help he would still be happy to assist. It was so refreshing to deal with someone so enthusiastic and I really feel he made looking for our first home an enjoyable experience. If for what ever reason our purchase doesn’t work out I will definitely be coming back to Richard.

I'm pretty wary when it comes to estate agents and letting agents. My experience with Goadsby is as a seller - I sold my property with this office and was involved in the sale of a house with their Swanage office. On both occasions they gave honest, realistic valuations that turned out to be closer to the eventual price of sale than other agents. They were great at keeping me informed of progress and their market knowledge was exceptional. They also helped tremendously as the sale went through. Are they the cheapest? No. However, they definitely put in the work and I felt they were on my side throughout the whole process. For me, that was well worth it.

Goadsby Bournemouth have managed my rental property for the last 5 years. They have been very professional and are very quick to sort out any issue, and always keep you updated. Impossible to single anyone out as all of the staff are doing an excellent job. I highly recommend Goadsby.
