We have been using Ocean to let our property in Bristol for nearly 10 years now and cannot fault the service provided by the extremely helpful James and Jemima in finding us great tenants for our flat. They thoroughly explain each stage of the letting process and promptly answer any questions that we might have, nothing is ever too much trouble. We can thoroughly recommend Ocean and will not hesitate to use them again next time.

Our experience with Ocean:We have been in a property managed by Ocean in Bishopston since 2019. In 2019 when we moved in we found out that the water from the bathroom from the first floor was going down to the kitchen in the ground floor, we have to clean and dry every time, it’s disgusting! We complained to have the issue fixed in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 we have complained many times, none of the staff managing the property seemed to care as now in 2023 we continue with the problem. We even contact Ocean director Paul Harris, we thought that contacting him, he would listen and try to tell his staff to act faster, but looks like he is even worse than his staff he cared even less.Talking by my experience, If you are a tenant: management service is terrible, if you have issues, or you fix and pay them yourself, or don’t expect that they would help with the problem.If you are a landlord: the management fees are way to high already in 2018 they were charging 12.5% management fees, other estate agents offer full management in 2023 for less than 10% and better service.(Ocean avoid to send automatic replies in here to make you look good and to show that you care, because you are not. Ocean in Bishopston is aware of the issues, what they need to do is work more efficiently and fix tenant issues and not make tenants wait for years)Replying your message below, still don’t see why I still have to live with the shower water going in the kitchen! You are just speaking nonsense but not trying to fix the issue still since 2019. But apparently the few months I have left in the property I am going to have my meals seeing and counting drops coming from the shower room in the upstairs floor. So sad to have to tell our bad experience and nobody cares. Everything that I have told is our truly experience with Ocean.

As we have discussed on numerous occasions, your tenancy agreement is between you the tenant and the landlord, we act for the landlord and require their instructions and authorization for property maintenance work. On this occasion the landlord has elected to use their own contractor to complete works required. However, we take our responsibility of both tenant and property care extremely seriously, as you have mentioned, there are indeed thousands of genuine customer reviews, many commenting on just such tenant care. We are equally disappointed that it has taken the landlord to this year to fully address the issues reported. As explained, whilst we have made every effort to liaise with both yourself, contractor and landlord we were unable to expedite matters to conclusion on this occasion. Please be assured we have advised the landlord of the seriousness of this matter, and that a permanent resolution is urgently required. We have also requested that the landlord’s contractor contact you directly to arrange access going forward.Ocean

Both the Sales team and the Solicitors did a very good job. Stefano found a buyer for our house and it sold within a week. Everyone was very helpful whenever we popped in. The Conveyancing team also worked very hard to get everything to go through. Olivia in particular always made time to speak to us and keep us up to date with how things were going.

They balanced the delicate line of sensitivity and professionalism when communicating with me after the loss of my parents and selling their home. Cannot recommend Simon Lack as a mortgage advisor enough. He has been so knowledgeable and friendly and made the process so easy to understand. He continued to be invested and hands on throughout my buying process - offering an opportunity to reduce my rate in line with changes in offers while also being mindful of where in the process we were. I would recommend him to anyone. The Southville sales team were also great - Tom Windaybank and Jenny Green were friendly, supportive and always on hand for any questions I had. I would not hesitate in using Ocean for sales and mortgage advice in future.

Mike, Melissa, and Emma, from Westbury on Trym Branch in Bristol, were all amazing, friendly, welcoming, went above and beyond expectations. (Not Forgetting Mariana the Legal Lady in the Westbury Branch) I would class them as the dream team! Definitely the fabulous fourI have never met such a wonderful team, they all get on so well together. They were all very professional, they listened to my needs, all very helpful, knowledgeable good banter, excellent atmosphere .... Unfortunately Mike has left the company for pastures new abroad. I wish him well, he will be missed. Dealing with one office for estate agents and solicitors all in one place where they also communicated easily with each other made everything easy. The software used by both parties were also very good. We knew about viewings, times, dates, clients & 2nd viewings. But the staff also kept us informed. We felt they listened to us. They were knowledgeable and patient. The legal side alsoHas a good software that we could log intoTo keep up with the status of the proceedings. FacebookI am a little bit thrilled this morning, because I received the news from William Jenkins that I got the property in central of Bristol. I just want to say , thank you very much William from my deep heart. I have been looking for property for rental for nearly 2 months but there is no result. one part reason is because of the busy rental property market, and it is very difficulty to book for viewing. Everything gets easy until I met William. He is a very kind-hearted person. As you know my English is not very fluent, and he is very patient with all the process of my viewing property, applying for reference.etc. He is so professional on property, and he is an expert on the property. if anybody who want to rent or buy/sale property, I think you need his help. In summary, you are so kind and so professional, and wish you a good future.

I would work again with Matt and Debbie in a heart beat. Matt really helped us secure the property we wanted even though there were multiple bids. He wasn't a smoozy real estate agent at all, which my husband and I really appreciated, but felt very authentic so was a delight to deal with. And Debbie was our contact for all the buying details and was very communicative. She was always available for queries and answered any question we had quickly, so we felt in very safe hands.

Sadie and Chris were great!!! Chris showed me the house and supported multiple viewings for surveys etc and was very knowledgeable of the area and properties in general. Viewed every property in the area with him before finding "the one" and there was no hard sell which was appreciated. Sadie was quick at communicating and swift with resolving issues on the sellers side and friendly throughout. What let the process down was the mortgage broker service they provide. Luigi was helpful at first but once he found out my case was slightly more complicated with proving funds he got frustrated and rude, then hung up on me, which was incredibly unprofessional. Ended up going for a private broker which was well worth the money and supported me every step of the way. On the whole a great experience apart for the mortgage broker service which i would avoid. Thanks Ocean Shirehampton team!!!
