Ocean have been excellent considering the dire state of renting in our area at the moment! After months of looking online and trying to get viewings on flats, Ocean were the first company to even give us a call back about getting a viewing. My partner and I were shown around the property and communicated with throughout by Charlie, who has been very helpful and patient when we have called and emailed about tiny details and questions we've had. Highly recommend :)

Ocean were fantastic, we chose them to sell our house. The good thing about Ocean is their great knowledge of our local area and the helpful and honest service. They did a great job of advertising the house and making sure the right clients saw it, and were on hand for good advice when we were buying our next property too. We chose them because we had used them 8yrs ago to buy our first property and they didn’t disappoint!

We liked the honesty of the realtor in this depressed market and knew that Ocean had a good reputation and we could do everything in house, including our solicitors. The house was sold on the first viewing with other viewers interested too. We used in house Solicitors too, which was a really good decision on our part. From offer to completion was exactly 3 months. The staff were very professional but also easy to talk to and we were updated by email through all the process and phone calls too. We would have no hesitation in recommending. We can't thank them enough.

We originally decided to go with Ocean Estate Agents as we had been told by them they had previous experience in selling flats. We were led to believe the first viewing even though more viewings were scheduled for later was sound! We accepted this. Our main and only request was for a quick sale! It was only much later down the line we discovered the buyer had a problem which we should have been informed about from the beginning. Hence the sale took longer than was expected. We have since received several apologies from Ocean Estate Agents but felt very disappointed with time it had taken.No complaints at all with the way the Ocean Solicitors dealt with their part in the sale. In particular Ashleigh was exceptional.

After a few false starts (decisions of buyers and sellers, not Ocean) they have stuck with us to get the move we wanted. Would recommend to anyone looking to move house in south Bristol.

Ocean made selling our home genuinely easy and stress‑free. We put the house on the market on Saturday and received offers in less than a week. The agents were professional, polite, and always provided a full 24‑hour notice before any viewing, which made the whole process feel organised and respectful. Once we accepted an offer, everything moved smoothly. Within a couple of months it was all sorted. As expected with a 1970s property, there were a few bits of paperwork and outdated permit plans to deal with, but nothing ever felt overwhelming. Communication with the lawyer was excellent, quick, consistent, and very attentive. We were kept updated on every small change and every question we had was answered clearly, which gave us real peace of mind throughout the process. Overall, highly recommend Ocean Estates if you want to sell your home quickly, easily, and with minimal stress.

A very disappointing house selling experience with Ocean from start to finish. After the intial visit and valuation (way too high and unrealistic)There followed a catalogue of errors and misinformation. The so called sellers 'dashboard' didn't work properly and the fact that it wasn't updated made matters even worse.There was a total lack of communication unless we pestered the agents constantly.Ocean property lawyers that were acting for our buyers appeared to be obstructive and inept, which delayed the whole process considerably.They say that selling and buying a house is one of the most stressful things that can happen in your life. Well Ocean managed to make it even more stressful!I would NOT recommend them to anyone.Oceans reply does make some valid points. But I didn't wish to go into a detailed summary of all the things that didn't go well during the selling process of our house in my review as it would take far too long.Yes the sale went through in an 'average' timescale but I maintain that was only because of our efforts rather than Oceans.

Our operations and systems are designed with this in mind. As Bristol’s largest independent agent, we successfully assist thousands of home movers each year. We are very proud of the subsequent thousands of positive reviews we have received on Trust Pilot for all our services and branches, including Downend.We would like to emphasise that a contract exchange within 9 weeks is well within the average time frame, in the current market. Unfortunately, daily calls to the office for updates will inevitably create unrealistic expectations; many legal and transactional processes require professional attention and may not be completed within the 24-hour time frame you desire. The buyer’s appointment of their solicitor was also well within standard time frames, the time taken was due to AML, anti-money laundering checks and their initial funds to clear only. We note that there was a delay in the draft contract being released by your chosen solicitor, which prevented the buyer’s lawyer from beginning to progress the case. Their initial preference to handle the case via paper documents only and not email unfortunately also extended this time frame.Regarding the buyer's lawyer, we assure you that Ocean Property Lawyers are diligent in preventing any conflicts of interest and would immediately cease to act if one were to arise. We understand that as a seller, you may feel that the buyer’s lawyer is raising potential issues. However, this is because they need to act independently and in the best interest of their client, the buyer, as you would expect your lawyer to do. This does not impact the estate agents who are acting in your best interest, as the seller.The buyer’s lawyer made standard enquiries and whilst a seller may not ‘like’ such questions, it is necessary for them to address any legal issues, or concerns raised by their own client. Regarding your comment about the sellers’ dashboard, not being updated, we apologise if this was the case for you. Following a review of sample current files this morning, this shows that all updates and milestones are displayed appropriately but we take your feedback on board so that we can ensure this is not the case. You also received personal updates from your Move Manager, which are promptly provided as required to all clients to ensure efficiency for both the team and all clients.The significant savings following a poor survey of the property and the buyer’s subsequent attempt to renegotiate the purchase price demonstrates that the team acted in the best interest of their clients, as we would expect.We regret you were not happy with the service you received on this occasion, and we wish you all the very best for the future. We started our journey buying our first property in January with a different estate agent. After 3 months of wasted time, false promises, and questionable practices, we ended up finding a property with Ocean. They were a night and day difference in their approach. Laid-back and honest viewings, amazing communication, and very efficient processes in place, we felt looked after throughout. A special shout-out to Seamus, who led the first stage of viewings and kept in contact throughout, and Emily, our moving manager, for guiding us through to the end. Massive thank you to the team, couldn’t ask for anything more.
