Untrustworthy. Unprincipled agents, use inexperienced staff and bully tactics to sell their properties. We had a sale agreed, the agent had got in touch with our solicitor to instruct the sale and we had organised a survey after being harassed on the phone by the sales negotiator to get the paperwork done. Only to receive a call a week after the sale had been agreed that they put a higher offer to the vendor (apparently they are legally required to do this). Dealt with lots of agents over the years never one that would consider taking offers up to exchange. Most agents won’t allow you to view/offer on a property once a sale has been agreed upon. Buying a house involves trust on all sides, how could you proceed with confidence if an agent behaves in this manner?

Avoid these timewasters!

Jones & Chapman arranged a viewing of a property I was interested in - and then they failed to turn up. No-one picked up the phone in the office, no apology, I had to call them to find out what had gone wrong. The appointment had not been entered into the diary apparently. They did send me some pics - but I was out of pocket in terms of fuel and Mersey Tunnel fees. When I requested they reimburse me for my expense due to their failure they failed to respond. Avoid them - unless you enjoy cowboy movies . . . New review

UPDATE: Finally exchanged and went in to take they keys in, got asked to take this review down. Said I'd think.about it. Thought about this last night on moving day. Decided against it. Still too many failings in my eyes. So when all is settled a regulatory complaint will be logged. Popped in to discuss mortgage options, and the service I recieved was fantastic, detailed and fair. The mortgage advisor is doing a great job, but for her own career sake she should leave this estate agents behind. Pity really the same can't be said for the rest. Being told the estate agent is out of the office then hearing their distinctive laugh in the background is unprofessional to say the least. I have done their job for them. Reached a completion date and the solicitor said to call the estate agent to ask them yo contact the buyers regarding the completion date. Left a message this morning, still no call back, called once more in the afternoon and got told they were out of the office on a training course but distinctive laughter could be heard. Avoid jones and chapman at all costs. I was accepted to rent a property for me and my 2 children. Went through all security and financial checks and was accepted. Had 3 move in dates delayed at last minute because of safety checks failed on property, then waiting for paperwork. Each time I was assured It will definitely be this date and had to cancel van, people that were helping me move and taking time off work to move. On the final day that I was assured I would get my keys. Packed up my whole house. Waiting to sign contract. No contact with them. Phoned them and they said unfortunately the landlord has pulled out because they are not happy you need a guarantor. I had already been passed 2 weeks previously with a guarantor. Was basically homeless with my 2 young children. Jones and chapman apologised and said let me assure you we won't deal with these people again, which is no concelation. 2 days later the house is back up to let with Jones and chapman. Absolutely unscrupulous, disgraceful estate agents. Still haven't got my holding deposit back aswell

I can’t do offensive words but if I…

I can’t do offensive words but if I could I would. Jones & Chapman of Liscard, Wallasey, have put our experience of buying our first house a living nightmare. They are the biggest bunch of cowboys, feed you lies, use bullying tactics to take more of your money. The manager Helena has no interpersonal skills, is very demanding and ever so rude. If you are considering selling or buying your home please avoid! Save your money and go to Harper & Woods instead.
