My partner and I recently sold a property and purchased a new property using Bourne Estate Agents in Alton. We asked a few estate agents to value our property but knew straight away we wanted to instruct Bourne. Their entire service was professional and honest throughout and we always felt they were very supportive and on our side. Communication was great throughout the entire process from them valuing our property right the way through to moving day. Andrew was fantastic in supporting us to sell our property and have our offer accepted on our new property. Gemma was outstanding in supporting us through to exchange and completion. We would not recommend Bourne Estate agents for rentals. We have been badly let down by this company after we paid 6 months rent in advance. The day that we were supposed to collect the keys we met with an independent inventory company at the property. The property was still dirty, loos were filthy, dust everywhere and a ladder fell onto my husbands head that was broken inside the loft. There was no main key for the front door, broken glass outside, items agreed had not been done, carpet moths in one carpet and a terrible smell of damp/cigarette smoke which concerned us as our son has asthma. No deep clean had occurred and despite asking for proof of this (we had been told a deep clean had been carried out) nothing was ever presented. The inventory agent advised that it was not acceptable and would require some work to be carried out. We requested a delay in the contract by a week or so in order to have these items rectified so that we could move into a clean and safe house. 24 hours later the landlord terminated our contract, which we could have fought but felt we were better off stepping away from the this property. There was zero communication from the agents as to why, no apology. This was a property that was being rented for £4000 a month. We are appalled at the lack of consideration given towards tenants. Fortunately we did not need to leave our sold house but this could have been a terrible situation if we had been completing on the same day.

Adrian from Bourne Estate Agents was very relaxed in his initial sales approach, never applying any undue pressure. His unique insight shone through when he suggested subtle adjustments to enhance the appeal of our home, something none of the other agents even considered.Jo effortlessly conveyed the details of the parking covenant to potential buyers. This was a great relief, as our previous agents' struggles to understand and communicate it effectively.Bourne's proactive approach, including the creation of drone footage and responsive promotion, injected fresh interest into our property, which had languished on the market for six months with other agents.Incredibly, our home sold within just three weeks, with an exchange completed in twelve. Throughout the process, Bourne, especially Rebecca, provided unwavering support. I often joked that Rebecca became my weekly therapist during moments of stress, as she was always there to reassure and guide us.When issues arose with the buyer's agent, Bourne went above and beyond to ensure the chain remained intact, exceeding their contractual obligations in the process.In contrast, the service provided by other agents fell far short. Karen Reynolds - great work!

This review is specifically for the great service received from Karen Reynolds working in the property maintenance department at Bourne. After having a less than ideal end to a recent tenancy, Karen responded so incredibly quickly, being very attentive and patient, meanwhile organizing various external services at very short notice to address several surprise issues that had to be dealt with very very quickly and efficiently. Karen remained totally unflustered and focussed, and dealt with my extreme frustration and urgency admirably. With a short period between incoming and outgoing tenants, Karen rose to the challenge and delivered what was necessary, with the result that the incoming tenants moved in successfully on time. A long 3 days, but I greatly appreciate Karen’s contribution, without which the whole process may have looked quite different, and would have certainly been more painful than it otherwise was. A massive thanks to Karen and keep up the great work - much appreciated! I very rarely leave reviews unless I have an exceptionally good or exceptionally poor service, so this is a testament to Karen’s great effort.

Looking at several agents, bourne were my favoured one after getting open and honest comments on my property. Ayisha came and valued the property and had come up with a great plan on how to sell the property, her photos and description got the property sold upon the first viewing (less than 3 working days). I was shocked at how quick Ayisha got it sold, compared to previous estate agents I have experienced. Then the whole process with Jim and the rest of the team was smooth sailing. I originally enquired about a property that had already been let, but instead of ignoring my request like most letting agents do, Roanna emailed me with 2 alternatives that were a similar location and spec which I had enquired about. Booked in a viewing for both, as they were both part of the same building. Jayne met me on the day and as the properties were so similar, it was so hard to choose between them, so I asked to view the first one again, and she happily obliged. Jayne was confident, knowledgable, friendly and attentive to what I required and that I needed to move very soon and reasurred me that she could make it happen. I took one of the flats and all the paperwork went through without a hitch with both Roanna and Jayne keeping me up to date with everything as it progressed. As I moved into a new build, there were a few teathing problems, but again, both of the ladies were fantastic in their responses to emails and phonecalls, with nothing being too much hassle for them. I have rented many properties, and the team at Bourne have definitely been the easiest and most friendly agents to deal with, takes a whole lot of stress out of moving! Thanks ladies, its much appreciated!

Easily contactable, especially Roanna Ferne Alton Branch, always on the end of an email or the phone. Very new to the rental market as it's our first home and Roanna has helped us so much so far with every step of the way, approachable. I was also so impressed with Jayne Lettings Manager and her professionalism in showing us the property full of knowledge about the house and very welcoming, was key to us choosing this particular property. Communication is good. However, very very close to move in date and not heard from the property manager who is going to be in charge for us. Would be great to go over some details about the house beforehand as new to renting.

This agent handled the sale of an unusual, but not straightforward period property and subsequent purchase of a new-build, retirement apartment for my father. Dad is 83 years old and at the time of the sale/purchase, was recently widowed. Gemma and Andrew at Bourne couldn't have treated him with more care, respect, sensitivity and kindness throughout and we couldn't fault their professionalism. They were truly superb with all our family; going way above and beyond what you would normally expect from an estate agent. Moving at any time of life is stressful, but we'd recently lost my mother. Mum and Dad had been married for 53 years, so the move was extremely emotional. The sale ended up as part of quite a long chain. Everyone in a chain has their own needs and agenda and this was no exception. Several times it came close to collapsing and a few of the people in our chain were excessively demanding, inflexible and unreasonable, bordering on neurotic, but I can honestly say if it weren't for Gemma and Andrew the chain would have collapsed. They were diligent, tenacious, courteous and hardworking. Their marketing of my father's property was spot on and they quickly grasped our needs. More importantly they got way in excess of what two other local agents had valued the house at. We felt other agents had undervalued the property for a quick sale, but Bourne were open and honest with us about what we could (and indeed did) achieve. We can't fault them and wouldn't hesitate to recommend their company.
