Surpassed all expectations

My husband has worked in Somerset for a few years and did a weekly work commute, since lockdown l have worked at home which l can do with more permanency & it opened up the possibility of relocating from Aldershot. We put our house on the market in July with nothing to loose and savings to be gained with the Stamp Duty holiday. We had only been in the property 2 years when we put it on the market!! I have had mixed experiences of estate agents and l have high expectations of the service l expect especially if we are paying. I also do not mince my words and say exactly how l feel & the agents doing the valuations were under no illusion that l would be a challenging customer!!Tom Knight came after a few other agents and we thought, here we go - larger than life wide boy making all kinds of promises!! But we took a shine to him & we had nothing to loose so we took a punt. Tom is an exemplar of customer service from day one he was available, he communicated & he was honest. He found our buyers within 3 weeks of our valuation, given we were in a new build just over 2 years we still made a small margin. Then the hard work began!! Our buyers were first time buyers and naive to the house selling process but Tom was AMAZING. He showed patience and hand held them through step by step. All whilst managing me & my expectations! His dedication to the customer, his honest appraisal of the housing market means he is skilled in his craft. I can only give a 5 star review as that’s all it allows but if l could l would give more. I fully endorse Mackenzie Smith but in particular Tom Knight from the Aldershot branch. I’d also like to say thanks to Ally in the branch too as he had to listen to me stress on the phone on a number of occasions!Thank you Tom for absolutely everything, and we look forward to seeing you in Somerset for a cider soon! Though the Manager was known to me

Though the Manager was known to me, this was the first time that I have used Mackenzie Smith. I was impressed with the professionalism of the team, readiness to take and pass messages without delay and provide feedback following viewing. Arranging video viewings is a new feature to me but it obviously worked. Post agreement on the letting, all the paperwork was handled smoothly and certainly to my satisfaction. It remains to be seen what the tenants will be like but first impression was very positive so thank you Mackenzie Smith.

House selling.

We needed to sell, during Covid.Some Estate Agents, weren't answering their phones. Others, hadn't got much of a clue about their client requirement's, "oh I don't know, we are working from home, you know, I don't have access to that information." Not prepared to find it either.Sixth try, "Hello Mackenzies-Smith." I go through the by now well rehearsed question."I'll put you on to Justin", repeated the question."Yes" said Justin, "I have just the couple you need".Justin came to see the house, it was just as I described. Buyers, introduced to sellers, everything has gone smoothly, from our point of view. Been kept well informed of progress by Justin.

Easy transaction; fantastic client manager

I chose Mackenzie Smith not for the company, but for the client manager who I instructed when he was at a previous company. I basically followed him to his new employer. David is an old school estate agent, he’s knowledgable about the area, friendly, personable and most importantly experienced, with many years under his belt. You feel enormous confidence when dealing with him and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend his services to anyone looking to sell a house.

Absolutely amazing agency. I could not have hope for better services from Nick Kirby (Senior Manager). Very professional and very good communication during our sale and always felt in good / safe hands. Very helpful, so patient answering all my questions and believe me I had plenty of them. Fantastic service as always!

Stephen Down has been amazing throughout the whole selling process. This is the second time we have used Stephen for a property transaction and - as before - he was efficient, contactable, knowledgeable, open and honest throughout. Horrendous. Based on experience with Jason Bowden at Ash Vale branch. He does not act in his sellers best interests. I spotted property I eventually purchased when it appeared on Rightmove. Despite my being on Mckenzie Smith books and my having sold I was not informed of this property in my desired area. Jason had arranged for sellers of property he’d sold to view and they were coming back for a second viewing. I had to insist on being allowed to view too. I was told McKenzie Smith give preference to people properties they’ve sold . This was despite me being in a much stronger position and therefore a better bet for the seller who their supposed to represent. Of course this doesn’t guarantee them their two commissions if they can tie it up. Jason also was totally unprofessional and criticised the seller to me as ‘causing trouble’ and making the solicitors McKenzie Smith had recommended less likely to engage! His idea of chasing things through was to e mail buyer or sellers solicitors for updates and then say he’d had no response. My seller conducted all bar one of his own viewings and told me Jason wanted him to accept the other offer albeit mine was stronger. On completion day my solicitor advised me to contact the office but I just got a message saying they were busy so again we cut out the middle man, McKenzie Smith, and buyer and seller sorted it. The seller paid fees for very very little. Additionally I was staggered when I tried to place my offer Jason was too busy in an internal meeting and would ring me back when he had time.

Tom at Mackenzie Smith Aldershot was amazing throughout our time with the company. From start to finish he built a great relationship with us and was always there when we needed him, especially through all the stress and tears. All arrangements for getting the house on the market and managing viewings went very well. Despite COVID19 issues the sale proceeded though to completion as quickly as could be expected under the circumstances.
