Me and my partner made our offer for a flat and it had been accepted. We went through the referencing checks with rent4sure and our reports were both positive. The agent congratulated and promised to send the agreement by the end of the week. On Friday , just 1 week before to move in, instead of the agreement we received an extra request from the agency, in behalf of the landlord, to see 12 month worth of bank staments and 2 years of tax return! Despite me asking how the agency would handle this very sensitive information (sending it to the landlord via mail?) I didn't receive any explanation. The agent kept saying that it was just to know the tenants a bit better. We agreed to send 6 months bank statements, even if we found it very unfair, just because we both already handled our leave notice to the current landlords. The next Monday we discovered that the landlord (?) was not happy with us and wouldn't proceed with the agreement. We went from being ok for renting to be unsuitable 4 days before to move in. Luckly we have very good landlords and they accepted our notice leave withdrawal otherwise we would be homeless by now thanks to the agency! I am currently renting out a flat through Sargeants and as with any older property, a few little issues come up here and there... Having previously communicated with one of their Property Managers, I was shocked at the lack of responsiveness and help which left me quite worried and even reluctant when I had a few recent issues with the flat, which unfortunately came quite close together. Gabriela, the new Property Manager, has been an absolute pleasure to deal with!! I had a very pleasant experience dealing with Sargeants West Ealing. Louise was immensely helpful and approachable throughout. The whole process was transparent and she dealt with my queries appropriately. I was not pressured to make a rushed decision on the apartment I viewed unlike another agency I do not want to name. Had a very positive experience with Sargeants to buy a flat. Amy Fox negotiated well but fair and then followed up regularly with the solicitors of both sides to ensure the sale went through as quickly as possible. Excellent experience buying a property with Sargeants. I dealt with Hayley Knowles and she was very professional, knowledgeable and most important eager to help the buyer and make sure all questions got answered. Hayley was super responsive and never had to be chased for anything helping us massively to finalise the transaction within the timeframe we had initially set. After having dealt with so many estate agents during the process of buying a house, I can clearly say that she was the best and I can highly recommend.
