After devoting a lot of time and effort trying to find my way around several hurdles with a rural property and then having had to unfortunately pull out, I was advised in what I considered to be an extremely odd email that in future I should perhaps look for a property on an estate!

The communication from Samuel Wood was prompt throughout our purchase, which makes the ending all the more disappointing. When we got the keys, the house had been left filthy, with old, dirty items still inside. We raised this with Samuel Wood but felt we received no support; their response left us with the impression that they considered the condition acceptable even after providing evidence. If you’re buying a property through them, I’d recommend discussing the condition the property should be left in, and which items must be removed, with your solicitor before exchange. Our experience on moving day was deeply disappointing.

However we couldn't have been more wrong, our house sold within 3 days, and here we are 10 weeks later having exchanged contracts and about to move into our new property. GoogleMy wife and I recently bought our house via Samuel Wood and got wonderful service from them throughout the conveyancing process. We were in the middle of a complex property chain which at one point collapsed when the person at the top of the chain failed to get her finances in order. It was a very stressful time for us all. Samuel Wood sales negotiators Sue and Charlotte managed kept us fully informed with efforts to restore the chain, which were ultimately successful after 6 months from the start. Now, all in the chain have happily completed their purchases.
