Great concept, poor communication and move in process
1/5
I’ve lived at Platform since October 2025, always paid my rent on time, taken care of my flat, and even chose to stay by moving into another apartment in the building. Unfortunately, the way I’ve been treated throughout that process has been deeply disappointing. The final straw came when I returned from work and couldn’t get into my flat. At reception, I was told my contract had ended and that I couldn’t access my own home, even though my belongings were still inside. I explained that I only needed to collect my things and even offered to pay for a few extra days, but instead of understanding, I was spoken to rudely and made to feel unreasonable. I was genuinely scared, as for a moment I thought I would be left without anywhere to stay. Eventually, I was given my key back, but only on the condition that I returned it by 8pm, even though it was already around 7:40pm. The conversation took place in front of other residents, and I left feeling embarrassed and humiliated. This was not an isolated issue. Throughout my flat transfer, simple requests were met with little flexibility or empathy, and both my future flatmate and I were spoken to in a way that made us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued residents. It’s a shame, because the building itself is not bad but customer service matters just as much as the accommodation. No one expects special treatment, only basic kindness, respect, and professionalism. Sadly, that was not my experienc and is quite the same for a lot of people that stay here
Dear Seun, Thank you for your feedback. While we appreciate your long-term residency, we would like to clarify how your internal transfer was managed. To assist with your move, we provided free access to your new 2-bedroom apartment two days early on Sunday. Because you held the keys to both properties simultaneously throughout this transition, you were never at risk of being left without accommodation. The access issue on Tuesday evening occurred because your previous tenancy agreement had contractually ended. While our team must enforce clearly defined timescales and security protocols for handed-over units, access to the old flat was ultimately provided so you could collect your remaining items. We apologize that the communication regarding these necessary boundaries felt rigid during a tiring move, and we are committed to ensuring you have a positive experience in your new home moving forward. Best PLATFORM_

Great place to live and great people managing it. Big thank you to Amanda for always being kind and helpful, and to Duncan Harkness for doing a great job running things. Really appreciate all the effort from the Platform team. Happy to call this place home. 😊 …
Thank you for the fantastic review! We're so glad you are happy here and appreciate the shout-out for Amanda, Duncan, and the rest of the team. We love having you as a resident!

Nice apartment, very windy placement though,ok for parking roundabout too
Thanks for the review! We're happy you like the apartment and the local parking access. Our riverside spot definitely gets a bit windy on occasion, but we're glad everything else is working out well for you so far!

Platform is an absolutely amazing place to stay. I genuinely love it here. The location is stunning, the apartment itself is beautiful, and everything about the building feels modern, stylish, and well designed. The apartments are maintained to a very high standard, and overall it really is a lovely place to live. However, the biggest issue with this place is unfortunately the reception staff. In my experience, they are extremely unhelpful, unfriendly, and often come across as rude or unwilling to assist residents. There have been many other encounters and experiences with rude behaviour from reception staff as well, but these are just a couple of examples. For example, one day I couldn’t find a parcel and asked Felicia if she could help me locate it. Instead of helping, she simply told me to “look properly” and acted like she couldn’t be bothered. I asked if she could unlock the parcel room door for me so I could check again, but she was dismissive and unwilling to assist. I still couldn’t find my parcel, and no effort was made to help resolve the situation. Another frustrating experience happened when we were moving out. My elderly mother and I had a huge amount of heavy bags and boxes to carry downstairs. On arrival at the building, there were plenty of trailers/trolleys available for moving belongings, so naturally we expected the same support when leaving. When we asked reception for a trailer, we were told someone else was using it. We repeatedly checked back to ask whether it had become available, but all three receptionists were completely unhelpful and showed no concern whatsoever for the fact that we were struggling to carry heavy items, especially with my elderly mother helping. One receptionist eventually told us to sit down and wait five minutes. Over half an hour later, a building worker finally brought the trailer downstairs and apologised, saying it had actually been sitting there unused the entire time and he had simply forgotten to bring it down. Before this, we had even asked whether we could go and collect it ourselves, but Felicia refused and claimed she “couldn’t disclose that information” because apparently a resident was using it, which clearly wasn’t true. This whole situation felt very unprofessional and unnecessary. It’s disappointing because the building itself is fantastic, but the poor attitude and lack of basic customer service from reception really lets the place down. Management seriously needs to address this issue and improve the professionalism and helpfulness of the reception staff.

I had a wonderful experience living at Platform_ during my final two years at the University of Glasgow. The accommodation was excellent, and the staff were always friendly, professional and helpful. Special thanks to Alyssa, Amanda and Felicia for all their support. As an international student from China, Platform_ truly felt like a home away from home. Thank you for making my time in Glasgow so memorable.
Hi Jyuchao, thank you for leaving a 5 Star review for PLATFORM_ Glasgow. We are pleased to see the team met your expectations. Regards PLATFORM_

Do not move here!! The management (in particular Jason) is the worst you could EVER come across. If you live here put EVERYTHING in writing. Some issues I experienced here: I was walked in on naked 3 times in my own apartment due to people having “the wrong list” - once was with someone on a viewing. Dog fouling every single day without consequences & without being cleaned. The longest I had an uncleaned poo outside my door was over a MONTH. They clean before viewings so you won’t see the real Platform until you live there. Within a month or so of living in the building the place flooded due to being improperly built. We ended up having to move our entire life belongings THREE times. By the time of moving out we did 5 entire house moves within 12 months. Every room we were put in was filthy so we had to do 3 deep cleans too. In one of the moves we were left without access to a working shower for a WEEK. I was locked in my room for over 24 hours due to the lock failing and them not sending anyone out to fix the locks. They never announced contractors - they would turn up without notice expecting to be let even on evenings and weekends One of the times I was walked in on naked was by a contractor. They had emailed me in the morning to say no contractors were in the building, yet an hour later a contractor walked up the camera-free route and walked into my room. They give them unmonitored access to the entire building. Your safety (and your belonging’s safety) is not a priority at Platform. I had to beg for a camera due to these safety concerns and even then, it took 10 months and they only put one on floor 8. The rest of the rooms are unmonitored - if someone enters your room when you’re not there, there won’t be any evidence! They break data protection constantly. It’s also opposite the homeless shelter. They steal food orders and some of them force their way in the building after you with needles in hand. If not, they shoot up in the doorways at night instead. We are have now been living in another dog-friendly apartment block since November and there has not been a single incident of dog fouling in the whole place, nor any security concerns. Some of our new neighbours used to live in Platform and broke their tenancy early just to leave. In contrast, we have all already decided we are signing on for another year at our new accommodation. Do not make the mistake of choosing Platform!!
Hello Amber, We're sorry you did not enjoy your time at PLATFORM_ in Cardiff. Security, service and the well-being of our residents are of utmost importance to us, and we invite you to discuss any concerns by emailing us at cardiff@platform.life. Regards, The PLATFORM_ Team

Platform_ is a mess damaged by arson and repeated storms. It’s a public safety hazard that is 300 ft away from M8 motorway. It claims to be award winning but it’s a shady company with dangerous complex around the three main buildings. Block A has problems with its boilers, electrical, and water supplies and the lift is sinking. Block C was not built to withstand heavy rains leading to its fire doors being jammed shut. There’s gaps in the windows on the top floor that allow rain to cascade. A 3m blind fell off the wall because it seems like the building is not only moving but sinking. I was charged a fortune for heat and hot water the energy supply was unregulated. There’s issues with the interior walls. Failed managers like Duncan Harkness admitted my first place was not properly installed with “studding and timber” when I asked for if I could install a shower rail to make it accessible because I am disabled. I had to pay substantially more move into a flat with a shower cubicle. There’s no one bedroom apartments that are wheelchair accessible with showers I was told. Anderston Quay is damaged on the site of collapse of the Clyde walkway. The 2025 storms led to the building being locked down. Block A is covered in cracks and damage from construction and falling debris. In January 2025, an arsonist carrying a knife broke into the building and torched it. The Fire Brigade sent several engines but couldn’t access the premises for some time. Police have attended on many occasions. Management behave like criminals employing tactics against tenants who raise genuine concerns after handing over their money for inflated costs for rent. People are coerced into believing this is a safe place but it’s not. They actively mislead tenants using deplorable tactics as they continue to present their fragile flats as ‘luxurious accommodation’. The EPC rating needs investigated. They are not energy saving apartments that claim is false and misleading. There is no evidence of any certificates from structural engineers and the council has admitted there’s records missing. The electricity supply is provided by the developer Platform but billed by Switch2. The tiny electric radiators heat the apartments but are so expensive to run, it could cost more than £300 a month in electricity bills for a studio. Hot water cost 47p per unit in 2025. The heat escapes through poor insulation it’s difficult to maintain sufficient temperature. When you turn the tiny radiators off the rooms do not stay warm. They let my apartment without a valid electrical safety certificate because it was damaged by the arson attack months before I moved in. After I was forced out move leave Block C for safety reasons. A week later my floor was turned into an active construction site. When you complain they make your life difficult. I was forced to pack one bag at 6 am one day and was too scared to return to collect my stuff. This was due to fire and safety concerns. Platform exploits and harasses their tenants. They treat paying customers like dirt. I moved out months back and they are still trying to blackmail me in April 2026, (through lawyers), to stop me writing this truthful Google review. Please don’t waste your money, time and energy with this scam business offshore Jersey Trust that should be investigated by police. The Council should be investigating for violations in public safety. There’s photographic evidence of the dangerous windows on the top floor in a previous review. Lots of Platform Google reviews are false. Just 185 flats of the 498 are occupied. The fake advertising makes Platform look good but it’s a black moldy bricked complex. There’s rat traps scattered around the place which sits on a flood plain and former city asbestos dump site. It’s a toxic property debt trap. The water is very hot, so hot, it burns. They were deliberately not designed for long term use. People move in hoping they can safely live there but many people leave because they give up complaining. The development didn’t get the legally required wind expert report either.
Thank you for your feedback. Safety and compliance are taken extremely seriously and the building operates within all required regulatory frameworks, with statutory inspections and certifications in place. Where maintenance or defect issues arise, they are logged and addressed by our onsite team and specialist contractors as quickly as possible. The building is not an active construction site and remains safely occupied. We have a 24-hour onsite team in place who are available to support residents, respond to queries and escalate any concerns to the relevant specialists to ensure they are reviewed appropriately.

We previously lived at PLATFORM_ Glasgow and ultimately made the decision to leave after a prolonged and exhausting experience that was never properly resolved. The primary issue was persistent noise and low-frequency vibration from the cinema room adjacent to our apartment. This wasn’t an occasional inconvenience, it was a recurring, often daily problem that could last for hours at a time, including evenings and weekends. The vibrations in particular were intrusive enough to make large parts of the flat, especially the living room and kitchen, effectively unusable during these periods. We raised this repeatedly over several months, beginning in October, and spent a significant amount of time chasing updates, reporting incidents, and trying to work constructively with management. While there were multiple assurances that improvements would be made such as adjusting sound systems, limiting volume, removing certain uses like karaoke; the reality was that the disturbances continued. Each change felt reactive and temporary rather than a genuine fix. At its worst, the situation had a real impact on our day-to-day lives. We found ourselves leaving the flat in the evenings just to get some quiet, and over Christmas we made the decision to leave entirely and stay elsewhere because there was no confidence we would have any peace in our own home. That’s not a decision anyone makes lightly. Communication throughout was inconsistent and at times incorrect, including being told at one stage that moving apartments would require a full reapplication and additional costs, something that was later contradicted. This only added to the sense that the situation wasn’t being managed properly. There were also wider issues within the building that contributed to the overall experience: cleanliness problems in shared areas like the bin store, concerns around parcel handling, and poor management of shared amenities. Individually these might be manageable, but together they reinforced the feeling that the building was not being run to the standard expected for the price point. The lack of maintenance and constant building problems added to our frustration and discontent. There was frequently doors broken, lifts out of service, and whenever there was more than a light breeze, the whole lobby would be locked and the side entrance would have to be used to access the complex, our key cards frequently wouldn't work on this gate, leaving you stranded outside in storms. We have since moved out and the contrast has been immediate. We now have a genuinely quiet, comfortable home, and it has highlighted just how disruptive and draining the experience at Platform had become over time. It’s disappointing, because the building itself has potential, but our experience was defined by ongoing issues, repeated disruption, and a lack of meaningful resolution.
Thank you for providing this further feedback. We are deeply sorry to read your feedback. Your comments have been shared with our regional operations team to ensure these areas are reviewed. We appreciate your feedback and wish you all the best.

Problems we had with platform… Main issue- noise from the cinema, we complained about this for months and it went mostly ignored. Every time we were told the issue was resolved, it wasn’t. The noise was fairly constant and the living area of the flat was basically unusable on nights and weekends. At times the noise could even be heard in the third bedroom which was at the opposite end of the flat. We were told if we moved in the building we would have to go through referencing and deposit payment again, we were then told this was wrong which just shows how good the customer service team is. The lifts were out of order for weeks at a time whilst we lived there. Luckily we were on 6th floor, being on the top would have been a nightmare. Often parcels were lost as there is no organisation to the parcel room. On one specific occasion Royal Mail told me a parcel had been signed for, reception told me there was absolutely no way this parcel would have been signed for. Funnily enough the night staff found it. Thank goodness I didn’t complain to RM. The bin area was disgusting, bin bags piled up. The dog park always had a dog poo or 2 in it (not platforms fault necessarily but speaks volumes on the people who live there) We were informed whilst living there that there has been bike thefts, part of the reason for moving, there was no security. One gust of wind and the building went to ruins, the lobby area would be shut off, doors would be off their hinges and the door on our floor would be blown open which caused a lot of unnecessary wind noise on our floor. The noise on our floor included constant banging of doors, and I mean all day long and often children running up and down the corridor. Sometimes people who didn’t live in the complex. This is glorified student accommodation with A LOT of building issues. Would not recommend!
Thank you for providing your feedback. We take all resident commentary seriously, and we are disappointed to read about the frustrations you experienced during your stay. Your points regarding building maintenance, parcel management, and communal areas have been shared with the relevant onsite teams to help us improve our operations moving forward.

READ BEFORE MOVING HERE! ^^ Kimberley Crichton is now ignoring me and isn’t responding to my emails, I haven’t heard anything back since April 1st even though she stated that I would get a response within 15 working days. If you want your stuff to get stolen move here, they also lied in their response saying it’s a unique issue even though my flatmates bike got stolen, plus the manager Duncan Harkeness and the police both told me that multiple bikes got stolen the same day mine did. ^^ Any issue that isn’t easily fixable they just seem to ignore it and hope you don’t keep complaining about it. The whole time we have stayed here there have been problems. When we first moved in we where told everything would be ready, so it was a surprise when we arrived and there was a hole in one of the bathroom sinks that had just been covered by a piece of tape. This then took weeks to be fixed even after raising the issue to the staff, then in the same bathroom the shower started leaking out into the corridor underneath the floor soaking half the hallway, they fixed this quite promptly which is probably why it then started leaking again immediately afterwards and they had to come back to fix it properly a second time. Scuffs covered the walls and other surfaces, with dead flies around the bottom of the window sills. The exterior doors that allow access from street aren’t closed half the time letting anyone enter the property, they will say they have fixed this issue and that the doors function as intended but they don’t I see them lying open every day. The doors to the bike storage don’t function properly and can easily be opened without the proper access key. This then meant that both me and my flatmates bike’s got stolen, the police told me that the person used an angle grinder to cut of multiple bike locks and take other bikes as well, I still don’t know how this couldn’t have been heard by any member of staff at the time. Platform_ are refusing to take any fault for this issue even though the manger of the building said that he knew it was an issue and that it had been highlighted to them before. The first bike was stolen a couple months into staying here, and then the other a couple months after that. With other peoples bikes stolen in between these dates, so they are well aware of the issue but lack any proper form of action to fix it. The only change made was that after the first couple bikes had been stolen, they put up small signs saying that bikes are stored at the owners risk, that’s it. I raised this issue with the building manager Duncan Harkness, who didn’t seem to be bothered honestly, he then provided me with an email to contact and told me that I would not be ignored but after a few emails back and fourth with a woman called Kimberley Crichton, who essentially just says the same thing in every email. I asked to escalate my complaint but she is now ignoring my emails and clearly doesn’t care about the residents issues. This isn’t a luxury apartment complex it is a student accommodation, I highly recommend getting an apartment anywhere else. Apart from all that the majority of staff are friendly with a few exceptions.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear about your experience and recognise how distressing the theft of personal property can be. Such incidents are highly unusual and can unfortunately occur even where sites are professionally managed and subject to access controls. We want to reassure readers that our development and bike storage areas are professionally maintained, monitored, and subject to regular security reviews, and we continue to work closely with our security partners and the police where incidents occur. While we may not agree with every aspect of your account, we do take feedback seriously and remain committed to maintaining a safe and well‑managed environment for all residents.

I’ve been living in this building since 2024, and as one of the first residents, my experience has been excellent from the start. The quality of services, staff, and management is outstanding, and everything is handled professionally and efficiently. Special thanks to Amanda Laird at reception, she is always welcoming, incredibly helpful, and consistently going above and beyond to assist residents. Her professionalism and genuine care make a real difference every day. Highly recommended!

I have been living here for more than 2 years and I’m always so grateful for the incredible staff that has been working here. Skyla supports us with Board Game Club and events management in such a timely and professional manner, she’s always ready to help with any queries flat-wise and building-wise. I hope she gets all the help and support that she needs. Amanda L. Has been helping us since day one since we moved in, she’s been a great support left, right and centre with any issues we’ve had with the flat. Amanda T. is always there, her brightness and attitude always make the difference to my day, she always helps, understands and most importantly, she listens and takes action. All the remaining of the staff are always great and cordial but I mostly interact with the people mentioned above. We love this place and we feel incredibly welcomed and listened to every time.
Wow, what an absolute joy it is to read this! Thank you so much for being such a wonderful part of our community for the past two years. We are incredibly lucky to have residents like you. Skyla will be thrilled to hear her efforts with the Board Game Club and events are making such a positive impact, and both Amanda L. and Amanda T. will be so touched by your kind words about their support and brightness. Our goal is always to make you feel welcome and listened to, so knowing we're hitting the mark means everything to us. Thank you for making PLATFORM_ your home!

As the agent representing Platform Property on the purchase of my soon'-to-be home, Lucy was a pleasure to deal with. She was on the ball and kept communications open to help move things along and keep the chain informed. In a protracted sale process she was reassuring and positive.
