Update to original review
Hi thought I would come on here and write a review because it seems you actually get a response from doing this .my communal door has been broken since February I have contracted you numerous times and you do nothing . I've been broken into twice in the last 12 months and you still haven't done anything about the broken side gates . You are a disgrace.update the communal door is broken again and the gates have still not been fixed .even after giving you video evidence and also verifying it with one of your staff. The repair you carried out equate s to putting a band aid on a severed leg after it being reported once more to a manager no action has been taken
Hi Nick, I can see that our Property Services Department contacted you last Friday and explained about arranging an appointment asap with the contractor. There has been a delay in an upgrade to the doors due to Covid 19. As you have logged this with us, we will ensure you receive a response via the contact details we have for you. Thanks KL, Customer Focus

I couldn’t be happier with the condition of my house, very little work needed doing on my part. The area and neighbours are fantastic. Bev my housing officer gave me so much information about the area and surroundings which put me at ease as I have lived in Newcastle all my life and moving to a new are was a little daunting for me. My neighbours are really friendly and have made me feel very welcome
Thanks for the review, Mr Lightfoot. We hope you are settled in your new home. Remember to register for online services so you can contact us for any requests in future easily. Thanks KL, PfP

5 stars are not enough.
I just could not believe that a landlords team of excellent staff would bother to phone their tenants just to check that they were ok and did they need any help at all for whatever reason, she had me in tears she was that kind.A big thank you to you all.

My partner lives in a p4p property with her children. She as contacted them in so many different occasions for jobs that need addressing in her home, they never seem to do anything about the works that needed. So I got involved and rung them myself and after a lot of calls to them, going through they had no records of myself ringing I started to write down times, dates and who I spoke to. The grill on the Oven that’s in her kitchen stopped working so I phoned p4p which I got a reply back days later telling me it’s not a p4p kitchen and it was gifted to her. Pmsl NO She took that house on from p4p and all fixtures and fittings which they should of put it all back to there’s before she moved in. But they didn’t. Now she as been waiting 6month for an oven to be fixed. I’ve been told today off p4p there seeking legal advice weather to replace or not. It’s a massive joke how p4p deal with tenants.

Keep away, you might as well be homeless
If you would like to keep your sanity, please avoid this housing association where possible. The area managers are simply incompetent, and I wouldn't trust this company (or Astley Village's area manager, Michelle Newman) to run a bath.
Hi Alex, We would like to address any issues that you have directly. Can you please send us the details with your address to customerfocusteam@placesforpeople.co.uk and we can respond to you. Thanks KL, Customer Focus PfP

Moved in last September and although there are a few issues with our house (which is normal in a new build) any urgent ones have been dealt with promptly and professionally. The site manager is extremely approachable and happy to speak about & try and correct any issues that are found (even after the initial snagging list has been submitted (within reason)). Occasionally issues have taken slightly longer to get corrected than we might like, but we understand that we're not the only house in the development so don't find it an issue as they still get done. We are happy with the build quality and feel we got exactly what had been advertised and shown to us prior to signing on the dotted line. Happy residents!

Carolyn Smith says Places for People…
Carolyn Smith says Places for People management are “cooperative” and “non-judgemental”. I don’t doubt for one minute that officials are eager to “cooperate” with one another when they decide the time has come to ‘deal’ with a tenant who refuses to bow down to their arrogant dictates and believes officials should be accountable to rent paying tenants, which is how my problems started when the manager I was dealing with absurdly viewed ill-intent in a series of questions I asked about communal areas and made a formal complaint against me resulting in my contact with officials being “restricted” for a full twelve months! This is not only totally disproportionate but a form of bullying in the hope that this will ‘teach me a lesson’, that I will not ask so many questions again! My experience as a tenants with Places for People for more than six years is that far too many officials are inept, incompetent and arrogant. The attitude among too many I’ve had the misfortune to encounter seems to be ‘don’t bother me, I’m far too important’. Quite possibly they resent being interrupted when they would much prefer to spend more of time checking their social media interests, sitting comfortably in their nice plush offices paid for at our expense! The way I’ve been treated by managers at Places for People in Preston is nothing less than scandalous and as a 73-year-old man I can say I’ve never been treated as badly at any point in my entire life. But I am fighting on regardless and hopefully the Housing Ombudsman will deliver the justice that has been so cruelly denied me by nasty, vindictive Places for People managers.Alan O’Day Scott

Fake indignation, secret discussions and a denial of natural justice used by Places for People managers in Preston to render me persona non grata...
Believing I was acting as a decent, conscientious resident, in March 2019 I complained about the appalling state of communal area at the rear of my ground floor home which began to resemble a junk yard as residents left all manner of items there. As per usual with Places for People (PfP) managers things dragged on and in September I initiated a discussion with the Place Manager to discover precisely what rights tenants had in relation to communal areas. The manager seemingly viewed ill-intent in my questions however, closed down the ‘discussion’ and refused to engage any further. In response I made a formal complaint in the belief that officials are accountable to rent paying tenants.Weeks later, in December, a drunken neighbour knocked at my front door subjected me to vile verbal abuse on my doorstep telling me to “f*** off”, which Greater Manchester Police logged as a “public order offence”.This prompted senior PfP managers to act. Putting two and two together, they completely got the wrong man. The digital audio recording I’d captured of that incident proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am the innocent victim and that my neighbour is guilty of anti-social behaviour, as indeed the Places for People Tenancy Enforcement Manager clearly recognised.I should point out here that I am 73-year-old man and my anti-social neighbour is a good deal younger and burlier than me.However this crucial fact was unknown to plotters in Preston as they began to hatch a secret plan to not only end that discussion about communal areas but to freeze me out altogether, as I would soon discover. This was achieved by using fake indignation as the basis of a complaint against me, arranging secret meetings of which I had absolutely no knowledge and then arbitrarily banning me from contacting PfP officials other than my ‘designated single point of contact’ for a whole year, until January 2021.All this was not only done in secret but I wasn’t even granted any opportunity to state the facts or defend myself. Essentially I’d been rendered persona non grata on the basis of a kangaroo-style court secret hearing that found me ‘guilty’ without my either being informed of the ‘charges’ against me or given any opportunity to defend myself. This is how totalitarian despots and dictators behave, yet this is how managers at Places for People in Preston behaved in order to freeze me out and silence me. I appealed against this decision of course but my appeal was summarily dismissed, so I am now taking my case to the Housing Ombudsman service in my quest for some justice. Interestingly the senior manager who dismissed my appeal not only revealed the “confused” and chaotic scenes as PfP managers scrambled to banish me for a whole year but he also named those involved in the underhand, cynical moves against me.I am now taking my case to the Housing Ombudsman service because PfP senior managers and their dutifully obedient underling ‘yes’ men and women clearly have no concept of justice or fair treatment. Not only have they trampled underfoot their own Customer Service Charter but they have breached both the Behaviour Policy and seemingly have no understanding of their legal obligations under the Equality Act 2010.PfP’s Customer Service Charter for example pledges “we pride ourselves on excellent service at all times”, will uphold “visible and transparent service standards”, “regularly tell you how we are performing”, while “listening to you” and be “respectful, courteous and honest”. Yet there was certainly no ‘excellent, visible and transparent service’ here, nor any evidence of ‘listening’ or any ‘respect’ or ‘courtesy’ in the way this matter was handled. Yet all these worthy pledges have been unceremoniously trampled into the dirt by arrogant PfP managers. My hope now is the Housing Ombudsman service will deliver the justice I have been so callously denied by hard nosed, arrogant PfP managers.Alan O’Day Scott
