I strongly warn anyone against this developer. We moved in over 12 months ago, (moved in February2025 )and our garden remains incomplete. Despite dozens of attempts to resolve this, we are constantly being stalled. The developer keeps claiming they are 'hiring a company' to finish the work, but there is never any progress or concrete dates, just endless excuses.

Part x with Barrett, excellent service and Customer care from Barratt Brough from start and still continues after we have moved in . Kept fully updated of progress since last September when we reserved the property to complete last week. Since moving in we have had the site manager visit and the site sales advisor checking to see all was well, giving instructions if not sure and checking to see if we had any faults for them to rectify. Fantastic service and lovely home x

Our new home, intended to be our dream residence, has proven to be a significant disappointment. Issues began seven days prior to moving in when we discovered that the garden and patio differed substantially from the promises made by Barratt. Despite assurances from Barratt that all discrepancies would be rectified, no action has been taken five months later.

TrustpilotDon’t buy a Barratt home
We have just moved in and it’s be a nightmare. We were messed around whilst waiting to move whilst I was pregnant and was meant to be in before baby arrived. We ended up moving when baby was 6 weeks old. I’ve had to have people in and out of the house due to issues and the house is not to a good standard. I paid for a professional snagger who has found 150+ items to sort. This included the fire doors not being NHBC compliant. I appreciate some of the 150 are not major but the finishes to the house are of a poor standard with having to have tiles replaced, things not fixed correctly or missing and items we have paid for damaged. We also had a workmen in to correct one of the doors and I could hear him trying to cut corners in completing the work to the standard required and he was told to do it properly. Moving into a new build you expect snags / few issues but the standards really are very low.

At the sales office I was greeted by a very plesant lady Karen, who directed me to the site where I was greeted by the Sub Site Agent Dexter, who spent the next two hours going through the property. A very plesant experience and a very well turned out home that the customer should be proud of.

We bought a Buchanan in Holly View, Cwmbrân. The team there was excellent, Chelsea, Bev and Jeanette. Tom the site manager was also amazing. We had issues with buyers in our old home pulling out the sale last minute and reselling twice. They were so patient and tried everything to help us move. We will always recommend Barratt's to anyone.

My home was one of the last ones to build on the estate. After three years we still don't have the road with the final layer of the tarmac. Council does not want to adopt it till completion. All of the other developers in the area have completed their parts Barratt/DW is the only one to leave us alone for more than 3 years! Snugs reported to them were not fixed!!!
