All the staff made me feel happy about buying a new build home, they were so welcoming and made me feel at home when I walked into the information centre, as I was 73 and had only bought one home in my life the one I was selling! Everyone went through their stories of house buying themselves. Felt very much at ease.

TrustpilotOur first impressions of a Barrett new build
Barratts have made the process of buying my second Barratt home a fairly relaxed. The sales negotiator was friendly and informative and not pushy at all. The stressful part has been the mortgage process of jumping through so many hoops and then back n forth online of legals correspondence. Upon moving in we have had great comms from the site manager. The only main disappointment was the ground levels around our home. Having asked the sales negotiator this question and looking into it said fine not much incline and fairly flat with some incline. However upon moving in the levels are anything but level. Maybe extra training for staff in understanding of level ratios and degrees would be advantageous. Having asked this and given an answer was most annoyed at the severity of the levels we have to work with in our new home. We have however seen the quality workmanship in the house. So far so good, with only a small snagging list. Mr Hughes

Adrian and other contractors have been brilliant at repairing some snagging issues we’ve had. The main problem has been it taking over a year for these to be passed on from Zoe the customer service rep in the office, definitely an issue Barratt should address, as on that part I would give minis stars! Other than that really happy with our house and Jacob the sales rep when we purchased in July 22

Flat is nice, but i was disappointed in the size when i went in, after seeing the showroom, my new flat is not the same, yes i know i got floor plans, but i wished i had been able to see my actual flat before the missives were signed, i did request this, but got told only workmen were allowed on sitebuying a house/flat is the biggest purchase one person will spend on, so it is vital that it comes up to their expectations.speaking to other people who have done the same, they have had a chance to see their new house/flat , wearing hard hats etc.Barretts should permit this too

Staff is lovely and that’s about all. I guess they have to be, given what they sell you.You pay a lot of money for a terrible, rushed job. They’re all about the money and don’t even wait to let the paint dry before you move in. Hired a professional snagger and the flat was full of faults, from sticky doors ( paint wasn’t dry) , chipped paint everywhere, plastic handles on doors and windows that are so cheap and handles that barely work, unlevelled doors and walls, etc. didn’t even need a snagger for majority of things are noticeable.looks “fine” until you live in it. Absolutely not worth it. I lived in a 10 yr old new build before this and it was so much higher quality (and about 100k cheaper too) Everything screams cheap and rushed. Didn’t even bother to put mirrors in bathrooms.Nothing about barratt is high spec or quality besides the showrooms that are a massive lie.You’re better off buying an older flat and getting work done to it , might be the same money but you get higher quality and probably more space too.

Overall an amazing moving-in experience! I've had a lot of worries with moving into a new-build from stories I've heard through relatives and friends. But the experience so far has been great! During the settling-in I've had Alexandra M overseeing the process and she has been a great help for any questions and issues that I have. She has been very responsive and was quick to arrange for checks and works to remedy the issues; as well as checking through periodically while works were being done to make sure that it is carried out smoothly. I did not have a lot of issues for my settling-in process, but am glad that the issues I had were taken care of in such a quick and proactive manner. Many thanks again to Alexandra!
