TrustpilotExtraordinary levels of incompetence and lack of customer care
Barratts have built our house with a DPC (Damp Proof Course) which is below ground level, causing damp issues.Reported to Barratts "Customer Care" in February, after 3 months of no action then made a complaint 03/05/2024. Barratts own policy states they will respond within 10 calendar days, it's now the 30th and still waiting, 27 calendar days and counting.I think perhaps they should re-brand their "customer care" department to "customer don't really care"

Great experience and service from start to finish.The sales team we dealt with at Bourne, Lincolnshire - Louise & Fiona - were fabulous. Kept us updated throughout the sale process and were on hand on moving day. I know they're still on site in the sales office, but they have taken the time to stay in touch & make sure all is still well. You're made to feel very welcome to drop in. Whether to say hello or to raise a problem.On move in day, we had an introductory tour by Louise & the on site customer care team. All snags were noted and followed up quickly.Rokas is our Site contact and he has been amazing. He has swiftly arranged trades to attend and resolve any issues we've had. Following their attendance he has either called round or phoned to ensure we're happy with the work. At no time has anyone queried or quibbled with any of our issues, just resolved them in a very timely, professional manner.Although we've had snags - to be expected - they have been quite minor & we have been very impressed with the excellent standard of the finish.I would highly recommend Barratts as a house builder, in particular the site we have moved to.

We interacted with Jane and Wyllis from Barratt's sales team for a property at New Malden and it was a pleasure transacting with them.The team was very warm and welcoming and extremely helpful in providing great details on the property we were interested in. It was our first time buying a property and the team always assisted us with our general queries on buying a property. In the booking phase, my experience has been splendid with Barratt. I hope over the contracting and hand over phase as well, we would have a similar experience. Thank you!

Honestly don’t know where to start, from ruining the experience upon handover riddled with mistakes let alone hundreds of snags which were more cowboy errors. Even now we have been left with a garden which has no growth, flooding and filled with building materials.I raised a complaint on 23rd May and had someone visit to tell me that the garden being a bog even though it’s near June is normal, and to quote “if we installed drainage then the price would go up” is not something you’d expect a 5 star builder to say. Even though multiple neighbours have experienced the same issue with some paying thousands from their own pocket to correct, Barratt insists that its poor maintenance and even referred to upkeeping like a golf course is needed for a good garden.

I would like to share my experience with the construction company "Barrett Homes." Unfortunately, my experience has been very negative. I purchased my dream home from them, but what I received was a poorly constructed house made with the cheapest materials. Every corner stands out with poor quality. A high price was paid for this house, expecting a high-quality home built with good materials, but we received the complete opposite, a cheaply built home.Over the past two years, when all the emerging problems should have been resolved, the company has continually tried to prove that everything is fine and that it’s supposed to be this way. They make me feel like an idiot and refuse to listen to the client’s opinion, although during the purchase process, the communication was entirely different, many promises were made, and a beautiful picture was painted.The reality turned out to be completely different. When I asked why, instead of the most beautiful area in the neighborhood with a lake, we have a swamp overgrown with bushes and full of mosquitoes, their response was that it was just a promotional picture. So, don’t be fooled by this company’s promises, and don’t believe a word they say.Read every word of your home package very carefully, as you will find that you are responsible for everything. Also, be aware that if you don’t like the house and see many problems, you have the option to return it within 30 days and get your money back. However, keep in mind that "Barrett Homes" builds homes on a conveyor belt, like in a factory, and employees care more about finishing quickly and meeting targets set by managers rather than ensuring quality.Do not trust this company and their promises. Be cautious and scrutinize every detail before signing the contract.

We were charged for premium quality but received extremely low quality instead. Their customer service is severely lacking. The "new build area" we live in looks like a jungle due to the complete lack of maintenance, despite it being their responsibility. This company is an absolute joke!
