Thank you to the entire team at Barrett Homes, Waldmers Wood. In particular we would like to mention Niall who was excellent at the beginning of our journey and took us through the initial process, Jackie who kept us updated on progress and handled the handover, and Patrick who has ensured all the snagging work has been dealt with efficiently. Special mention also to the kitchen chap, sorry we didn’t get your name. Everyone has been great. The whole process from start to finish has been relatively problem free. Of course there have been some minor issues but they are to be expected and have been handled quickly and professionally. Very happy with our new home.

We've being in our home for 2 years and 5 months give or take. And I would not buy a barrats home ever again. I regret taking down my last review as nothing was sorted. So this is my final one. Do not give barrats 5 stars after a 2 year completion as they just shrug you off and tell you it's your problem then.We left a review not so long ago about a hole in the garden which led to a rat getting into the loft. The garden back steps was hollow underneath so the rat had easy access. We sorted this even though they said they would. I couldn't wait any longer as I'm 7 months pregnant and wouldn't want to risk the future child.Barrats said it was our problem but you wouldn't think to check the ground outside Also plumping we've had an issue with every room on this. The kitchen and main bathroom they did sort but the ensuite did not.Last year it was leaking and they claimed to have sorted it but they haven't. It's a room that's rarely used but there's a leak mark that comes into the living room when the sink is used.We had an outsider company come to look at this and he redid all the seals.This hasn't done it so it's gonna cost a least a thousand to rip the floor up to check the pipes. We can't afford this with the little one due.Nothing will be done by barrats. I would recommend anyone who buys a new build to double get it checked out. After that two year mark, that's the line where they stop.Someone will say ill get someone to get in touch with you after this review or thank you for your feedback.I don't have time in my life to be chasing a company round. I thought buying a new build would be great but it's just being stressful.Our house on the row of 5 is the only one with so many issues. So our house should be called the 5 o clock rush.

Really great experience with Barratt buying our new flat! Poonam was really helpful as the sales progressor and helped to move things along really smoothly and swiftly, assisting us with any questions and issues we had on the way. The flat is of good quality and the post sales services have also been great when needing to remediate anything.

Purchased property on Ceres Rise Swaffham. The general build is good but every thing else is completely rubbish. We have found the the contractors they use are of a very low standard and have no pride in there work. Everything they come to fix goes again within weeks. We have found that Barratts promise Everything but don't deliver. Once they have your money they move on . Would we buy again from Barratts certainly not.

If I was rating the sales manager at Treladan in Saltash I would give 5 stars as she has been very helpful, given excellent advice, been respectful, polite and always gives time to listen to any issues/concerns raised. Unfortunately the sales manager has a had a few days of well deserved holiday and I have had to communicate with other staff members who were not as helpful and came across very blunt with no help or advice on how to resolve the issues raised.

I bought my house at the Parish Brook site in June 2023 and the house itself is great! The house is well designed and outside sounds and energy bills are incredibly low. I had a few snags in my house on moving in, but they’ve mostly been easy and quick to resolve. The Barratt staff still on site are lovely.I would agree with one reviewer about the “pond” that is actually a large, half-full, open drain in the centre of the site which is disappointing. The two children’s on-site parks seem to be closed regularly, which is frustrating as their rear gardens are quite small and the parks should really be open for school holidays!However, my biggest beef is with what I perceive to be poor management of the social housing tenants by the local Housing Association (or HA). I’ve asked to see the obligations of the HA regarding their tenants, but they have not been forthcoming. Emails to the HA often do not elicit any response.I was assured by Barratt that any antisocial issues caused by the social housing tenants would be addressed quickly, especially while they were still building here. Coming from humble beginnings myself, I think we should do our best to support struggling families, particularly children. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Sadly, the HA have been of limited support.For example, having 6 open bins of recycling rubbish only feet from my front door is unacceptable; it’s a disgusting sight I didn’t pay hundreds of thousands of pounds to see every day. Problems like this (and there have been quite a few) may be seen as low level, but when they are multiple, their effects compound and this affects quality of life. It put off 3 potential buyers earlier this year.By law, because I have complained to the HA, I will also have to disclose the situation to future buyers if it persists. I assume the management company taking over from Barratt will have even less influence on the HA.The vast majority of the families in HA properties here are tidy and respectful. Mixed social housing on new sites could be a positive policy, but without tough love from the HA it will fail, and at a time we need a lot more affordable homes for less fortunate families.

Laura Thompson at Barratt's, was really welcoming when we went to reserve our new home last week, she listened to our needs and went above and beyond to get things sorted for us. We managed to reserve the plot we wanted on the site we loved along with the Barratt's deals they offer it was a smooth transaction. Laura has been providing us regular updates on our build too which is super exciting. Looking forward to seeing the end result, and working with Barratt's for the rest of the build.
