My wife and I had our first experience this afternoon of Ian Trickett, branch manager of Woolston, while viewing a property we were very keen on in Waterlooville, Hampshire. We have been renting a long time and found Ian to be the best Estate Agent we have dealt with in a long while. Honest, Relatable to and straight talking in a non offensive manner. I urge anybody who is reading this to think twice before even considering renting or starting the process of renting through London road Morris Dibben Southampton. The letting staff are VERY pleasant and manipulative enough to take a holding fee and full deposit promptly, and VERY, patronising, un organised and incredibly slap dash to do anything else after. Myself and children found a three bedroom property to rent and unfortunately the house was being rented through MD london road. They asked and took a £380 holding fee and £1,900 deposit from me straight away. I had to call a week later and ask for the paper work to begin “where i was greeted by a trainee who’s words were “oh yeah sorry forgot” she then went on to send all the wrong paper work to myself and older children, instead of tenant forms she sent us all guarantor forms so that set us back another week and with us all having to go through the process again with the correct forms. If that wasn't stressful enough they call to ask if all three children and myself could attend the office to be identified!!! Bearing in mind that all birth certificates bank details, and passports were sent to them already and that i had met a member of MD at the property whilst viewing the property to begin with, even my oldest son’s Autism documentation was sent to them. They also asked for my ten year old son to attend the office with his birth certificate to be identified also. As you all can imagine it was incredibly humiliating and we were all made to feel like criminals a ten year old child being identified and a nineteen year old with severe Autism being identified in a busy office is completely shocking. MD were completely aware of my sons disability and it has left us all feeling completely discriminated and upset. A few days later with everybody feeling deflated and with the worry of trying to find a home because our current landlord for the past six years is retiring and put the property up for sale and with my guarantor who is my sister and who has been my guarantor for the past twenty years didn't meet Morris Dibbens criteria, which they decided to call and tell me at 5.30pm on a Friday when the office was about to close. The reason why she didn't meet the criteria is because once again MD sent her completely the wrong forms!!! As you can imagine the incompetence from MD london road has been a complete and utter stressful time and it didn't leave me with much hope or choice but to decline carrying on the process with them, and because i chose to decline carrying on with them because it took nearly four weeks they have taken and will not return my holding fee of £380 but returned the deposit. They are a complete disgrace.
