Daisy showed me round the property and she showed genuine interest in what I was thinking and even helped me see the vision of how I could lay out my daughter's room, this is a personal touch I've never had from a house viewing before! so I really appreciate it and I came home feeling really listened to. For the past two months, I have viewed one flat after another on lunch breaks, most evenings and on the weekend without success. Along the way, I have not had the best experience with estate agents. Having to deal with unprofessionalism, dishonesty, lack of empathy for my situation, rude and curt telephone manners, lateness and in two instances, being shown the wrong property! It's bad enough that I am disappointed by the flat themselves and the high rent for a single occupant but to have this process being made more difficult and stressful by the estate agents is not good. However, my experience with Morris Dibben was a complete breath of fresh air and I have to single Rose Cottrell out in particular. She was very professional, very direct and transparent which surprised me. Rose also showed a lot of empathy, patience and kindness during the viewings. There was no pressure to make an instant decision which there has been with other agents and she was also honest, ensuring I had all the information. Thank you Rose.

My partner and I recently moved to Southampton, I was so happy to find these guys as they are all so super helpful and lovely, especially our estate agent Rose, Ian was really nice also. Terrible experience from Josh at the Woolston branch. Very keen to be my best friend to get me to book viewings but making an offer was very different. I made an offer and increased twice. I didn't hear from him for a week despite numerous calls and emails. He then called out of the blue to say my offer was accepted. 3 hours later and after I had started setting up my solicitor and mortgage he called back to say it wasn't his fault and he didn't want to start a bidding war but that's exactly what he did. He called the others to tell them they weren't successful but then accepted a higher offer from them. Typical estate agent, plenty of lies but no morals and very immature.

Renting without SMOKE ALARM Woolston Southampton

My daughter is renting a property and two months in they still don't have a fitted smoke alarm something the agent saw on day one. This is a legal requirement and something you would expect a professional letting company to treat as urgent matter for the landlord to remedy immediately. Morris Dibben look after the interests of the landlord and not the tenant. The boiler was making a loud noise from the outset and still to date no one has been around to fix it, despite reporting it to both maintenance contacts and the Morris Dibben office numerous times. Tonight it has started flooding downstairs flat and none of the supposed emergency contacts are picking up.. Grass in garden was not mowed before with the excuse it's new turf even though they expect the tenants to strim it. Plenty of other issues including ridiculous intrusive checks for guarantors when the names on the agreement more than satisfy rent criteria.

Unreliable sales

I had an agent to value my property to sell and find me an alternative property to purchase. The agent sent me his evaluation and also said he would be in touch to discuss my decision after I study the evaluation. He did not call me for a few weeks and then, I decided to call him. I explained that I had decided to sell and gave him my referred the area and type of property that I wanted to purchase. He said, he would call me back in a few hours as he was driving and not to believe in what people say about the unreliability of the sales agents. Well, I didn’t have to hear it from people as I experienced the unreliability of the agent myself. That was about two months ago. Never heard from him, and my principal would not allow me to call or walk to the office, which was located a few hundred yards from me. My intention was to sell and buy two other properties. Perhaps the company has a good reputation, but sales agents as such would definitely create a shadow on the reliability of the company. I don’t blame the company entirely, but it would certainly lead me to believe that there is a lack of internal quality control and auditing system in place. In these cases, customers don’t lose but the companies’ do.
