From looking at the file, our team did a fantastic job at keeping the sale together despite the hurdles placed in the way during the sale, and they still managed to complete it successfully. Do not use this company they just cost me the sale of my house because they marketed a house without 2 signatures they only had 1 put it on the market hoping to get the 2nd the property had a court order matrimonial dispute on it they went breach of court order still no signature we actually was told Friday they admitted it shouldn't have been put on market we have spoken to 4 estate agents they all said they broke the law not getting 2 signatures to sell it a lawyer has told us the are now liable to costs after 6 months of been sold we now got extra stamp duty £1750 to find another searches survey and solicitors to buy again plus houses gone up £15000 since April total extra cost to me £20000 now extra to find and pay due to there fault I was told on 1st Oct don't expect to move this month mortgage offer runs out in 5 weeks extra £750 with new valuation cost that's merryweather see you in court asap you not getting away with this

GoogleAbsolutely terrible. If I could give zero stars, I would. We 'worked with' them, and communication was poor from the beginning; they did not acknowledge any communications made for days, it took a total of 2 emails and a voicemail over the course of a week before a more senior colleague took over and returned my voicemail. On the few occasions we actually spoke with them, they were abrupt and condescending, and when our sale eventually fully broke down, we received a blank email with a formal letter as an attachment as notification. Absolutely zero courtesy shown. One of the myriad problems with our sale was that Merryweathers disagreed when the bank down-valued the property. We were informed that they would be challenging the valuation and asked for the name of our lender and underwriter; 2 weeks later my partner copied the underwriter into an email, explaining that we would not be able to proceed without a full asbestos survey, it was the first the underwriter had heard of the situation. Sloppy and slow at every turn. Despite knowing what our lender had decided (having forwarded them the response), and knowing our personal situation was that we could not make up the shortfall, they did not pass on our reduced offer in a timely manner and instead pressured us to go to a different lender hoping for a different response. Finally, they squeezed everything they could from the situation, including informing the solicitor we had instructed that they had referred us to them, which was blatantly false (my partner had found the solicitor), and that the referral fee should be made out to Merryweathers. In summary, poor customer service, shady business practices, and we are now back to square 1 but 4 weeks further on. I will certainly be giving them a wide berth in future.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

GoogleShocked by good reviews don’t like leaving bad reviews but certainly don’t have choice here. Given loads of different information by staff regarding process. To then be told a perfect couple have dropped out so you have a chance.... how to make somebody feel second class! Not for me. Time wasted!NegativeQuality, Professionalism

GoogleDue to COVID and not living in the area, I was assisting my Aunt in selling her Bungalow in Darfield and relocating to be nearer family. The process would have been difficult without the help and guidance of both Kirsty and Terry at the Barnsley office. They went the extra mile in dealing with my Aunt, visiting and reassuring her during this stressful time.
