GoogleI rent a property and I have had a few requests go through for works to be done and I can honestly say with first hand knowledge after renting from other agents this is the company I would recommend The staff are helpful, genuinely wanting to help and do so with speed and keep me the Tennant informed throughout the process Highly recommended

GooglePlease do not take into account all the fake reviews about this Merryweathers branch, I can only review the sales side of the business and there's 3 words that come to mind.. ruthless, corrupt and unprofessional. Any word of advice for any first time buyer, if the property you are interested in is up with this company.. walk the other way or do everything you can to contact the buyer directly wether it be through solicitors or other means. All the sales staff aren't bad, but this specific individual we had dealings with was not human, nor had a heart. Completely bad to the bone.

GoogleDue to COVID and not living in the area, I was assisting my Aunt in selling her Bungalow in Darfield and relocating to be nearer family. The process would have been difficult without the help and guidance of both Kirsty and Terry at the Barnsley office. They went the extra mile in dealing with my Aunt, visiting and reassuring her during this stressful time. Without their professional attitude, I doubt we would have secured the sale to its conclusion. I cannot thank them enough for all they did. Chrissy Wallis

GoogleAbsolutely terrible. If I could give zero stars, I would. We 'worked with' them, and communication was poor from the beginning; they did not acknowledge any communications made for days, it took a total of 2 emails and a voicemail over the course of a week before a more senior colleague took over and returned my voicemail. On the few occasions we actually spoke with them, they were abrupt and condescending, and when our sale eventually fully broke down, we received a blank email with a formal letter as an attachment as notification. Absolutely zero courtesy shown. One of the myriad problems with our sale was that Merryweathers disagreed when the bank down-valued the property. We were informed that they would be challenging the valuation and asked for the name of our lender and underwriter; 2 weeks later my partner copied the underwriter into an email, explaining that we would not be able to proceed without a full asbestos survey, it was the first the underwriter had heard of the situation. Sloppy and slow at every turn. Despite knowing what our lender had decided (having forwarded them the response), and knowing our personal situation was that we could not make up the shortfall, they did not pass on our reduced offer in a timely manner and instead pressured us to go to a different lender hoping for a different response. Finally, they squeezed everything they could from the situation, including informing the solicitor we had instructed that they had referred us to them, which was blatantly false (my partner had found the solicitor), and that the referral fee should be made out to Merryweathers. In summary, poor customer service, shady business practices, and we are now back to square 1 but 4 weeks further on. I will certainly be giving them a wide berth in future.

I was told I would hear about a house offer the day after I submitted my offer, After no correspondence I rang for an update and I was told I would hear later that day, I didn’t hear anything. I then rang the day after for the third time and told I should have received an email (I didn’t), the company then rang to tell me my offer had been lost on their system with my details- and then the original rejection email was finally sent.I have experienced very poor service, poor communication and had no apology from the organisation, just them saying “they will look into it”. I would be extremely cautious and mindful when seeing merryweathers again in future, other local agents have been 10/10 and provided an extremely better service.

GoogleI can not thank Merryweathers of Maltby enough for the sale of my bungalow, it's been a lengthy process with more problems than you could imagine but the staff have gone above and beyond from start to finish, they have kept me informed all the way and looked for solutions to problems, done jobs that the solicitors should have been doing and hadn't and been polite and professional throughout.
