GoogleI let a property through SLCA for many years, and although it is too soon to review McFarlane (who have taken them over), I was more than satisfied with their service. They seem to strike the right balance between the interests of the tenant and the landlord (although I can remember no occasion where these differed). I have dealt with Jacqueline Marchant-Currie for some years and she has always been professional, efficient, helpful and friendly.

GoogleHad a great experience with Mcfarlanes.I have been looking for a long time for a house to rent and they couldn’t have been more helpful and were so efficient.Jacqueline Marchant -Currie was the lady I dealt with in the office and she went above and beyond with helping me find the right home.I had various emails with Jacqueline too and she was always so quick to respond and have answer.From start to finish the whole process of moving had been made so much easier by the team here especially Jacqueline who was so helpful.I thoroughly enjoyed opening my moving in gift box which was a real treat and a nice touch.Thank you for all your help and for an excellent service compared to others.

GoogleCarla been our contact for running our HMO for over 4 yrs. Always professional, friendly, helpful, responsive and communicates well. Great liaising between tenant, contractors and landlord. Tom and Joe are very good on the letting side. They recently found a tenant and commenced referencing for another property within 1 week of initial advertisement. Very pleased with McFarlane. Happily recommend them to other Landlords.

GoogleThis company do not know how to manage letting properties. They let sub standard properties. My brother rented a property from them and we took it to Court and have just received a settlement! The property was in an awful state, so bad we had to get Environmental Health involved who issued a Hazard notice and then an Improvement Notice. They had managed the property previously with the previous Tenant saying he had all the same issues. How can you call this managing, holes in the roof, damp everywhere, inadequate heating - to name a few!!!!! We had no communication re the Deposit, they just kept it, which is against the law. They even tried to blackmail us by email, by saying if we didn't take any further action, they would release my brother early from the Contract!!!!!!! Steer well clear! IN ANSWER TO YOUR RESPONSE - YES I DEFINITELY HAVE THE CORRECT LETTING AGENT! YOUR OLD TOWN OFFICE! WE TOOK THE LANDLORD TO COURT AND SHE SETTLED, BUT YOU WERE THE MANAGING AGENTS!!!!!!

GoogleTom Pawley and the wider McFarlane team assisted my partner and me in moving from Manchester to Swindon as tenants. As this was at short notice, due to employment transfers, we were helped a great deal in visiting the properties around the Wiltshire area. Other members of the team were supportative in providing flexible visiting times to the properties. Tom managed to support us and smooth the transition to moving to our new property. McFarlane is a professional and smart outfit that offers good quality and good value.

GoogleI recently purchased a property through McFarlane, as a first time buyer i relied heavily on the advice and help on others, the team here really made the process easier for me, Jo was amazing throughout the purchase, helping me where others were unresponsive or overall unhelpful, i never had to wait long for a response and Jo made sure to keep ontop of every aspect of my purchase, from chasing my solicitors to keeping me informed on the progress of the sellers solicitors! I cannot praise the team at McFarlabe North Swindon enough and will always recommend their services if ever asked!

GoogleFrom start to finish - a professional service. Their dedicated sales progressor , Jo, kept us informed throughout the process and was also in contact with the solicitors dealing with the conveyancing. This took away any stress and worry about chasing up events as we were fully informed throughout. The sales team were also professional with photos and advertising in the first instance and also giving us sound advice . A very quick and successful outcome. Highly satisfactory.

GoogleI’ve received great service from Jo at McFarlane throughout the process of buying my first property. She constantly kept me informed and up to date without me having to chase. It wasn’t the smoothest process overall due to some issues on the lettings side and other factors out of Jo’s control, but she was able to restore my confidence and make sure things were resolved. Really appreciate her help.

GoogleThey would not rent to a couple because they are not married and they say it's required by law. When asked which law and when did it change, the guy on the phone replies " It's not that!". So.. what is it then? Racism?

Having listened to the call between yourself and our office, I can hear that we have not declined to rent to a couple and by no means have we been discriminatory towards you or anybody else. McFarlane’s deeply condone any/all forms of discrimination as it has no place in our society. I have tried to contact you directly to address the matter further and explain the rules relating to Houses of Multiple Occupation but at the time you did not wish to discuss this. If you would like to discuss this further, then please contact me on 01793 611841 where I will be more than happy to resolve the matter. Should you not wish to discuss please find the information provided by the local authority relating to HMO’s; Your home is a house in multiple occupation (HMO) if both of the following apply: • at least 3 tenants live there, forming more than 1 household • you share toilet, bathroom or kitchen facilities with other tenants A household is either a single person or members of the same family who live together. A family includes people who are: • married or living together - including people in same-sex relationships • relatives or half-relatives, for example grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings • step-parents and step-children In line with the above, a couple and a friend would result in three tenants forming two households which as you can see would result in a breach of the information above and put a landlord at risk of prosecution.

GoogleI used to be a Mcfarlanes tenant and now the building itself Blenheim Court in Wootton Bassett in which my flat is located is managed by Mcfarlanes. Mcfarlanes I'm still very curious to know when the lock on the Blenheim Court communal door is going to be fixed??? Carla used to be my property manager when I was a Mcfarlanes tenant and it cannot be easy having a tenant with disabilities. Born with lifelong neurological and developmental disabilities (as well as medical issues) I am classed as disabled neurologically and developmentally. Carla is a property manager who genuinely understands people with disabilities through her own personal circumstances and my goodness gracious me does it truly show! In the 3 1/2 years that I have known her she has truly been there for me due to my vulnerability and had my back all the way. I am incredibly proud to say that she has now become one of my closest acquaintances and is someone that I know that I can always trust and confide in. What better person could any human being actually want in their lives???

GoogleAnita was beyond helpful with getting a property sorted for me so quickly and efficiently. The property itself was perfect for what I need and the whole process was really well managed. She kept me in the loop and was really on it, I was under a tight time scale and she went out of her way to make sure everything was sorted for when I needed.
