We have just sold our 3 bedroom semi detached family home with Jan Forster Estate Agents (Brunton Park).
From the first visit to this branch we spoke to Susi and felt that this was the Estate agents we were happy to use to sell our property.
The valuation team came out took lots of lovely pictures and got the house up for sale within hours of it going on line we had a viewing . The next few days we had several viewings and an offer that we accepted.
All of the team were professional , friendly and polite and kept us updated with every aspects of the sale in particular Lorraine Robinson and Susi Potrac. Thanks to the team .

Our experience with John Forster estate agents was extremely disappointing. We dealt with Susi Potrac, who we found rude and dismissive. She repeatedly talked over us, leaving us feeling unable to explain ourselves or ask questions properly.
We felt spoken down to and treated as though we didn’t know what we were talking about. Her manner throughout the conversation came across as disrespectful and unprofessional.
Based on this experience, we would not recommend the company.

Chain broke down later that year through no fault of Jan Forsters who were brilliant throughout in chasing the chain. Jan Forsters advised us to remarket in March 2026, again sold within several days of advertising from proceedable buyers known to Jan Forsters. Sale completed 19/6/26 without any issues, wonderful service from Jan Forsters, (Susi in particular), and would highly recommend them to sell your home.

They tried to sell a subsidised house without disclosing any of this information to us, including the fact that the house sits on a mine entry. In addition, they conducted group viewings, which felt totally disrespectful. If there was too much interest, they should have pre-qualified potential buyers or simply been honest about the condition of the house.

We can confirm that the property has only recently been brought to market with us. While you have stated that we attempted to sell you a subsided property, I can confirm that no sale has been agreed through our agency. To the best of our knowledge, no prospective purchaser has commissioned a survey or undertaken searches in relation to the property, and therefore we are unable to substantiate this claim.
We would also like to note that it is not uncommon for estate agents to conduct open house viewings when a property generates a high level of interest. However, should you prefer a private viewing, we would be happy to arrange this, subject to availability.

GoogleI bought my house through Jan Foster Estate Agents over a year ago, and I can honestly say it was one of the worst and most stressful experiences of my life. What should have been an exciting milestone turned into an absolute nightmare because of the way this company operates and, in particular, because of the behaviour of Ashley, the agent I dealt with.
From the very beginning, Ashley was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. He spoke to me in a condescending manner, showed no patience, and made me feel like I was an inconvenience rather than a client making one of the biggest purchases of my life. Simple questions were met with attitude, poor communication, or no response at all. At times, he was outright disrespectful, which is completely unacceptable in any profession, let alone estate agency.
Communication throughout the process was shocking. I was constantly left chasing for updates, clarification, and basic information that should have been provided without me having to beg for it. Deadlines were unclear, things were poorly explained, and I was often left feeling confused and stressed because no one seemed to care enough to do their job properly. Instead of being supported and guided, I felt ignored and brushed aside.
Buying a home is supposed to be handled with professionalism, respect, and care. Unfortunately, that was entirely missing here. The stress, anxiety, and frustration I went through could have been avoided if Ashley and Jan Foster Estate Agents had shown even a basic level of courtesy and competence.
I would strongly advise anyone considering using Jan Foster Estate Agents to think twice. Based on my experience, they lack professionalism, respect for clients, and proper communication. I would never use this company again and would not recommend them to anyone. This experience left a lasting negative impression and completely took the joy out of buying my home.
