We have bought and sold a number of houses through Jan Forster Estates and have always been totally impressed with their efficiency and pro active approach to getting the property to market and out there as soon as possible. This last house has been sold through Lorraine and her team within a month. She has given us exceptional service and we trust her completely. This is so rare these days.

We were really pleased with the service we received from Jan Forster, they made the sale of our home so much easier, achieving quick viewings and a quick sale. Even when our initial buyer pulled out, they were quick to reschedule further viewings and we had a new offer the same day. Louise Claber was amazing, being so understanding with the stress we were under and putting me at ease when things weren’t going to plan, no need to chase for updates, Louise would call me and reassure me whenever it was needed. Amazing service.

TrustpilotThey tried to sell us a subsided house
They tried to sell a subsidised house without disclosing any of this information to us, including the fact that the house sits on a mine entry. In addition, they conducted group viewings, which felt totally disrespectful. If there was too much interest, they should have pre-qualified potential buyers or simply been honest about the condition of the house.

While you have stated that we attempted to sell you a subsided property, I can confirm that no sale has been agreed through our agency. To the best of our knowledge, no prospective purchaser has commissioned a survey or undertaken searches in relation to the property, and therefore we are unable to substantiate this claim. We would also like to note that it is not uncommon for estate agents to conduct open house viewings when a property generates a high level of interest. However, should you prefer a private viewing, we would be happy to arrange this, subject to availability. GoogleAbsolutely faultless throughout the process of selling our house. There was a slight hiccup with uploading our photos at the start, due to an issue with the photographers SD card, but Jan Forster and the photographer when above and beyond to rectify this. Their attention to detail taking the photos, videos and write up of our house was second to none, essentially selling our house within 48hours of going on the market. First impressions really count when selling a house, and they obviously did a sterling job! Their communication was excellent between buyer and seller, and they were always at the other end of the phone to provide advice where needed. They don't over value properties to get new customers like some estate agents do, their valuation was bang on the money. I couldn't recommend them enough! Thanks again for all your hard work!

I have nothing but great words to say about Jan Forster Estates in Gosforth. I bought my first home and dealt with Louise. She was quick to update me and chase up the sale with the solicitors. I heard from her more than my solicitor so cannot thank her enough! If we ever come to sell the house we will 100% come back

Sold our home initially in June 2025 within 2 days of being on the market, with Jan Forsters advertising to their “waiting list” of customers for our property type/location. Chain broke down later that year through no fault of Jan Forsters who were brilliant throughout in chasing the chain. Jan Forsters advised us to remarket in March 2026, again sold within several days of advertising from proceedable buyers known to Jan Forsters. Sale completed 19/6/26 without any issues, wonderful service from Jan Forsters, (Susi in particular), and would highly recommend them to sell your home.

From 1st stepping into their Tynemouth office, Michelle and team were both friendly and most helpful. It was therefore an easy choice appointing them, for the sale of our property. Although the sale encountered a few "buyer" issues along the way, we received the team's full support throughout, and the level of communication remained high at all times.

I would strongly advise anyone considering working here to think twice. The way staff are treated is unprofessional, disrespectful, and frankly unacceptable. There is a complete lack of basic management skills, communication, and understanding of how to run a business or support employees.

From the moment my first call was answered right through until the sale agreed point I have to say the service I received from Finlay at the Gosforth branch was exceptional. His attitude is superb, he is calm, informative, reassuring and you really feel his personal interest in wanting to do his absolute best for you. GoogleI would prefer to have given them 0/5 had there been an option. Avoid like the plague! This firm is utterly appalling. I rented my property through them fully let and managed. I signed their contract, which they then failed to carry out and breached a number of terms and conditions, by not completing set tasks that they were paid to do. They caused me a huge financial loss because of numerous administrative errors, that a child would make. There is a real lack of care and attention to detail, they only care about themselves not their clients. They are dishonest and untrustworthy, cowboys in the trade. I would strongly advise you don’t use them, save yourself wasted time, effort and distress. I have complained to the Ombudsman about their behaviour and how they conduct their business, it is wholly unacceptable. Please use an alternative firm and save yourself the brother. I was highly dissatisfied.

Abysmal estate agent I actually removed them due to the incompetence of the long Benton branch I took them to the ombudsman who are actually paid by estate agents so is a waste of time , anyway I paid twice , as soon as I moved estate agents my home sold in 5 days , everyone has there own opinions but the consistent bad reviews show them for who they are lessons learnt

Whilst in our contract, we did find a buyer for you who unfortunately decided not to proceed. We tried to help and actioned all your requests, however, you decided against our advice to use another agent whilst in our contract period. In line with our complaints procedure, the matter has been fully and properly investigated by the Property Ombudsman who found that we had acted appropriately and were not at fault. Clients can rest assured that we are a reputable and helpful estate agent.

GoogleUnfortunately I had a terrible experience with this estate agent I went with next 2 buy (after 4 weeks of utter farcical viewings with JF ) who where kind considerate Professional everything Jan Forster isn't they will write a reply to this spouting nonsense please don’t get any more stress going with them and read the reviews on trust pilot etc they are awful I would like to give 0 stars but 1 is the lowest (if I ever see them visiting a home I will chap the door and tell them not to go with JF I feel that strongly about how poor this company is . The property ombudsman is paid for by these estate agents and always side with them This is just my 100% honest opinion of this estate agent If Jan reply below stating how professional they are blah blah blah I personally have to disagree Please choose another agent .
