Would never buy a Miller Home again

I would never buy a new build from Miller again - we are still paying the price from when we moved in 4 years ago.The workmanship is some of the worst I have experienced - from painting to wiring, it’s like an apprentice has done it. We replaced the plug sockets in the kitchen for USB compatible - every plug had wires too short and nearly touching, it’s a wonder there wasn’t a short circuit. We tried to fit a ring doorbell and even that caused issues as the wiring had been done wrong so needed to be redone before it could be tapped into the bell.The layout of the house (Sherston) has been done by someone who has no idea how families actually live - you can’t open the freezer without shutting the kitchen door as can’t open (why put a fridge / freezer behind a door?!), the under stairs cupboard is completely pointless with the sloping roof not allowing anything higher than a hoover to stand up and let’s not get started on the storage. The room plans make the rooms look quite large but that’s not taking into account the amount of free standing furniture required to ‘live normally’. The master bedroom, once bedside tables, chest of drawers and wardrobe are added (pretty average for a master bedroom) is tiny! There is minimal space to move around. As for the so called ‘inbuilt wardrobe’ - well pointless doesn’t even cut it. Once a bar is added to hang a few coats, the rest is completely wasted space. The only other storage is a cupboard at the top of the stairs but as this houses the boiler, it’s impractical to use.What about the garden? Well that’s another story. We had ours turfed, but there was no top soil used - it was clay so very quickly the turf looked sick. A year later the grass started to ‘disappear’ and after an expert visited, turned out the turf and soil used by Miller was laden with leather jackets. Our lawn was completely ruined by them and by the 2nd year needed to be replaced completely (at our own expense) despite numerous emails to the so called ‘customer service director’. We are still having to treat the lawn every year to prevent them from returning as the eggs as still in the cheap quality soil used. Any emails disappear into a black hole - don’t expect any reply. All in all very disappointing experience and something I will never repeat again. I previously had a Barratt Home and this was by far a better experience and of a different level to Miller (they could learn a thing or too).

We were looking for home for the past two years only home we found with excellent lay out is in miller homes Durham and the incentives they gave us is fabulous really grateful to miller homes .Another honest opinion for anyone who wants to buy home with miller is they’re very transparent from day one. That gives you so much confident that you are in good hands. Last and the least definitely need to tell about the sales manger Lindsey Murray that she is a such a friendly, very supportive and helpful and her customer service is excellent. We really would like to thank her for all efforts she is taking to help us to move into our new dream home. WOULD GIVE NO STARS

This is the first time I have brought a new build from this company and it will be the last , I've been here for about 6 months now and I am sick of this house , first of I had OVER 20 snagging issues the house was rushed and had 2 leaks one of them quite serious that could have flooded my kitchen , now I have a infestation of plaster beetles that have literally took over the house , Miller make up lies and say they won't help so I've had to get a fumigator in TWICE to sort out the issue , as this is a defect with the plaster itself , now I'm finding loads of flies in my master bedroom and now around my house , this is NOT good enough for the money you pay for such bs , the sales staff are just after their pay check , very pushy trying to get you to give them a gleaming review after you buy and then a few weeks later HOUND you for the NHBC review BTW they are NOT a 5 star builder trust me , I would not recommend Miller even to my worst enemy , the customer service staff are shocking ,never answer the phone and don't even want to help , after I brought this house I've just been left alone to deal with this and they are literally no help or brain cell between them as they told me to 'hoover up plaster beetles and open window' and that made it 10000 times worse and also said they don't deal with this as its not something they sort out even though its the plaster they use , make it make sense , I have also deleted my 'gleaming' review as it was all forced and I am definitely NOT a happy customer or resident of a Miller home they also won't deal with my complaint in regards to my plaster beetles or anything else for that matter , I do have some other information on the PX that we did with Miller but that information will he going to The Sun newspaper , please if you want a peaceful life don't buy these houses , they aren't worth the money and the whole lot of them can go and whistle for I care , this is at Bonington Grange.
