When I had an electricity outage in my flat, Hawes & Co at Surbiton immediately understood that this was an emergency to me as I live independently and am visually impaired The Hawes staff member (Mahmoud Okba) promptly got an electrician to come round and fix the problem effectively. That not only put my mind at rest, it restored my practical support systems (for eg. a charged phone, in case of an emergency).

Terrible experience. Very discriminating, both the company and the appalling credit referencing company they used. We had 6 weeks to move out of our current property, and because we had been through hawes and co-before, and rented flawlessly we decided to go through them again. We found a property that we really liked and we went to look at it and put in an offer. We did everything we were asked to do and because Hawes and co use a terrible credit referencing company called ‘legal for landlords’ we were eventually turned down for absolutely no reason whatsoever. I was completely discriminated against because I’m self-employed and have a number of regular jobs as a self-employed person. In the last year I earned £46,000 and my fiance and £19 1/2 thousand pounds, but they would only take six months of bank statements and assumed what I earned over the course of the year instead of looking at a years bank statements. They told me I have only had 22,000 but refused to look at it any further. If they had looked at the other six months to see exactly what I had earned they would have seen the exact amount. They found a CCJ on my fiance‘s credit file that we knew nothing about, and we called the court to find out what it was. The court confirmed this should not have been on his credit file and it is being removed and a letter was sent to prove this, but they refused to look at it and rejected us anyway. This company is rude, Unwilling to listen and unwilling to be objective in any way, even though self employed people’s cases can be different. This whole process took them nearly 3 weeks leaving hardly any time to find a new property and almost left us homeless. It took them two weeks to tell me they needed a second lot of bank statements from me. Two weeks! when we could have been sorting things out but they didn’t bother to tell us. Considering I am in a wheelchair right now and have had an accident and pending a brain procedure, I could’ve done without this level of stress which left both myself and my fiancé nervous wrecks. Also told me my guarantor did not qualify. Despite having over £100,000, some in money, some in stocks and shares she did not qualify because she did not have £17,000 just sat in a current account for 30 days. What a ridiculous load of rubbish. Who keeps £17,000 In the current account! I don’t understand why hawes and co use this horrible, discriminating, unprofessional referencing company, who discriminate good to people for no reason. I could go on and on about the problems I had with hawes and co but you would be reading for a long time. We did not feel respected by them, we feel that a lot of things were not told to us about what was going on and we were misinformed. I have sent an email to them complaining about the situation, but I have been competely ignored. I am appalled by the way we were treated there. I suggest a good professional company in Surbiton you go through chancellors. Smooth, polite and caring and we feel like valued customers.

I have recently moved to a property managed by Hawes and couldn't ask for a better service. Joe, the Lettings agent who showed me the property and arranged all paperwork was extremely helpful and professional. Moving in made stress-free and straight forward. Recently, I spotted a leak in my bathroom, and while I was getting ready to spend the night at a hotel ( couldn't make any use of bathroom appliances ), I reported the issue to Property Management, led by the remarkable Mahmoud. Turns out, the issue was sorted on the same day. Just like that. I can't thank you enough Mahmoud. This team is really something special, keep it up.

I can not praise Hawes & co enough, especially mr Michael Gibson who took my property on, initially a simply straight forward sale, no chains etc.. but he went the extra mile on every occasion with each and every unexpected turn of events, anyone of which would have each been capable of terminating the process. I was overcome with the stresses they presented but he kept me focused n assurances that nothing was impossible. He was right. His help was invaluable under the hurdles presented to us one what proved insurmountable to many. Me especially included, as I had spent years in the same business, both locally n in the West end of London. Never, throughout my whole career have I met such a property consultant so willing and able to make it happen contributing many out of hours time n energy on my behalf.

We bought a flat in Brighton road Surbiton in March 2018 through Hawes and Co Surbiton. We had been looking for just under a year when we saw the flat online and so the last thing we wanted was to deal with another comission thirsty agent trying anything to sell us a property. We dealt with Samuel and Greg who were absolutely fantastic!! They showed us around the flat on 2 or 3 seperate occasions while we were trying to make our minds up and each time they had lots of patience and told us we must take our time and do what we feels right. Was really nice to have an agent deal with you on a personal level for a change.
